    Great Show - Wonderful Experience

by AniaT on 2010-09-14Spruce Meadows - Calgary

I was absolutely amazed by everything, competitors from all over the world, beautiful horses, presentation, decorations, flower arrangements everywhere, food, attractions, welcoming hospitality and many more. Great Show, I was proud to be Calgarien sharing this wonderful experience with my family from Poland. We are all horses lovers so having this opportunity to see so many SO BEAUTIFUL animals in one day was a HEAVEN to all of us. Thanks and many best wishes to the Spruce Meadows Owners.

Once again Spruce Meadows has proven it's dedication to the sport of showjumping. This was my second visit and I was even more impressed (if that's possible) with the beauty of the site. I have my own horse but I know many spectators were amazed at the facility and thrilled by the competitions that occurred during the Masters even if they'd never touched a horse before-you could tell by the silence in the stands during each ride.. What an awesome weekend.

by Tippermom on 2010-09-13Spruce Meadows - Calgary

The staff and committees of Spruce Meadows once again put on a spectacular of equestrian grace, power and beauty. The Spruce Meadows MAsters Tournament is a must see. I'll return of course year after year.

    Spruce Meadows is Amazing

by SupportSpruce on 2010-09-13Spruce Meadows - Calgary

I have been going to Spruce Meadows for 35 years first as a competitor and now as a dedicated fan. Everything they do is top notch. The grounds are so well kept, the riding rings impeccably set and decorated, the attention to sponsors and fans second to none. Hickstead is the best horse in the world - what an honor to see him here again. You do not need to be immersed in the show jumping world to go and enjoy yourself. There is something for everyone!

    Masters at Spruce Meadow

by JourneyPlanner on 2010-09-13Spruce Meadows - Calgary

Brings International Horse jumping to Alberta - this is really a fun event. There are so many other things to do during the weekend with the trade fair; international food kiosks; wagon rides for the kids; learn about different horse breeds - lots to do for kids and adults of all ages. We take a picnic lunch to sit and enjoy the grounds, but there are lots of food options.

This was my first visit to Spruce Meadows. It was a well organized, fun day. I took a friend & she too enjoyed it as well. The whole day seemed to run very smoothly & pretty much on time. The volunteers are amazing & do their jobs well - it does take alot of them to make this event run smoothly. We had great reserved seating in the the SW grandstand. The jump-offs were very exciting & it was just great that a gal from Calgary placed first. The fireworks were very well done too & a great way to wrap up the evening.

    Spruce Meadows is Fantastic

by Hittheroad on 2010-07-12Spruce Meadows - Calgary

We just returned home from a weekend at Spruce Meadows in Alberta. If you are interested in watching world-class horse jumping competions in a gorgeous environment, then this is the place to be. Spruce Meadows is a very large, posh, well organized equestrian centre located 30 minutes outside of Calgary city. The grounds are beautiful and the centre caters to their visitors. The riders are world-class and the horses are magnificent. Take the whole family for an experience that is unique, unforgettable and not expensive. Will definitely go back next summer.

    Spruce Meadows Masters 2009

by Voltsmith on 2009-09-19Spruce Meadows - Calgary

What an marvelous day it was! Each and every competitor showed their sportsmanship and competed to their fullest. The final jump-off was the most exciting I have had the fortune to see yet at Spruce Meadows.

Horses, sunshine and people. Oh my!!!

by Cstars on 2009-09-18Spruce Meadows - Calgary

A great week spent watching one of my favourite sporting events. Spruce Meadows is a beautiful facility and a lot larger than I expected. In addition to the show jumping, we spent time exploring exhibits, listening to music, shopping and selecting from the wide variety of food vendors. The weather was spectacular, which I've heard isn't always the case for the Masters. Saturday and Sunday saw record breaking, enthusiastic crowds.

    Wonderful as always

by RKMom on 2009-09-15Spruce Meadows - Calgary

Beautiful venue; peaceful even with 60,000 people. Art display was oddly laid out this year. Would like more art for sale but Marketplace was great. We had seats in the West grandstand for $30 a person - we chose the front row to accommodate our long legs as the rows are narrow. Would ask the staff to monitor tickets better - we had a constant stream of people having to remove poachers from their seats; very distracting. We brought a lunch but the food wasn't outrageously priced. Splurged on a $4. Purdy's ice cream bar. The best deal in town is the free shuttle from the LRT station - great drivers, festive atmosphere, and the bus gets priority lanes.

    Spruce Meadows

    by Amyk707 on 2009-09-14Spruce Meadows - Calgary

It was a great event! So much to do, so much going on, and of course the show was great! The only recommendation I would have is, if possible, sit in the "E" section, as the seats have backs, and in the C section we were in it was bleachers really close together!

    Spruce Meadows was awesome!

by Porsche on 2009-09-14Spruce Meadows - Calgary

Spruce Meadows had a record breaking crowd Sunday and I can see why, with beautiful sunny weather, lots of food and fun, great shopping and even better horses competing! The International Ring was spectacular to watch with the excellent course design. The horses really went all out.

    The Masters was Great Entertainment

by CharleyS on 2009-09-14Spruce Meadows - Calgary

This was a great outing, the weather was outstanding and the event itself was top noitch. We used the shuttle bus option and found it very convenient and surprizingly fast considering there was a record 67,000 at Spruce Meadows that day.
