About

Sting is a 17-time Grammy-winning artist and a founding member of the pioneering new wave band The Police. Born in Wallsend, England, Gordon Sumner, a.k.a. Sting, became one of the best-selling artists of all-time as the bassist and frontman of The Police. The band released five studio albums and six Top 10 singles, including the Sting-penned No. 1 hit “Every Breath You Take,” before disbanding in 1986. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, and their 2008 reunion tour was the third highest-grossing tour of the ’00s. Since releasing his 1985 solo debut The Dream of the Blue Turtles, Sting has been recognized with a British CBE and an Emmy, featured at the Kennedy Center Honors and inducted to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has also received four Oscar nominations, and his 2014 Broadway musical The Last Ship, which was inspired by his childhood and featured music and lyrics by Sting, was nominated for two Tony Awards. A constant experimenter of genres including jazz, pop, classical and world music, Sting won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 2019 with Shaggy for their 2018 collaborative album 44/876.

    Adequate.

by Jimbo on 2023-10-02Rogers Arena - Vancouver

A good show, however, Sting’s mic had distortion issues that are unacceptable in this venue.

    Sting is amazing!

by Sandra W. on 2023-10-02Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Wow! He rocked Rogers Arena for two solid hours. Sting delivered his greatest hits and shows why he is one of the greatest of all time. A truly enjoyable concert that I will not forget!

    Sweet like honey...

    by Clover888 on 2023-10-02Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Sting is an exceptional artist. He engages his audience with real talk, and gives 100%. The venue was a bit more intimate by not having the upper level seats open. My first time seeing him live, solo. Years ago I saw Police. An epic show. I would definitely go to another Sting performance, hands down!

    What a fun night

by Muse on 2023-10-02Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Was it worth the trip? Yes! My third time seeing Sting and it was wonderful to share the experience with my young teenager who too is a fan. As for the venue, I like the size and we sat just to the side right off the entrance to the section so perfect access for me. Glad we got there early gave us time to check our seats stand in line waiting for a T-shirt’s and get a drink. If I was to tweek one thing it would be to set up a few more merchandise spots even though I was at the venue early it took about 20 minutes to get through the lineup. As I waited in line I observed several people deciding not to join especially as time passed the lineup got longer.

Great Musical Performance 9/10 Stage 0/10

by WKS on 2023-10-02Rogers Arena - Vancouver

The music was outstanding.. although a couple songs sounded off key. Sting is timeless! The Stage Show was not impressive at all. Two basic protection screens with no graphics or visual effects. Only addition was a few spotlights. I thought they could have presented something that was also visually entertaining, especially with all the advancements in technology.

    Magical

by JayCee on 2023-09-13Budweiser Stage - Toronto

What a magical night........after following/purchasing every Police and Sting album/CD/Video, I was finally able to see him live.......and I wasn't disappointed; everything went without a hitch! Sting is the consummate professional, and yet, after all these years, he still likes to connect with his audience and provide us with a memorable experience. The facilities were good, though the video screens could now be larger, and the sound was awesome.......staff were courteous and all round, this being my first visit to the Budweiser Stage, I will be back!

    Always Amazing

by TIO on 2023-09-13Budweiser Stage - Toronto

You always take a chance when it’s an outdoor venue but my STING concert this time at Ontario Place was perfect as the weather was warm and breezy. I knew immediately that the opening act was his son and he looks and sounds like his dad..very enjoyable I have loved and swooned for over 40 years and have never missed any of STING’s concerts when he is in town I will go by myself if I have. As always he was amazing and still has what it takes..he played all his well know songs which everyone loves..my only tick off was he spent the majority of his time at the right side of the stage and only occasionally came to the left side (where I was Row B) so that was disappointing to me..be still my beating heart💚 Overall I had the most amazing memorable experience but I am a totally loyal forever fan

    Amazing and so much more

by Phantomsilk on 2023-09-08Budweiser Stage - Toronto

One of the best concerts of the decade. The songs, band and background singers were wonderful and Sting as young as ever returning me to my own youth for the night. Unfortunately, I wasn't keen on the opening act; but got 70 pages of my book read. I appreciate he has kids and wrote songs for them, but, I am not one of them and if I was I would prefer the wiggles.

    Sting=Spectacular!

by Chris K on 2023-09-08Budweiser Stage - Toronto

First time seeing Sting live and up close and it was one of the best live performances I have ever attended. Amazing set of solo and Police classics, as well as some stellar performances from members of his band, and guest appearance by opening act Joe Sumner. I rarely get emotional at a concert, but Sting's performance, stage presence, combined with my seeing and hearing Sting in person had in tears of joy during the show, and tears of sadness that it had to end. How Fragile we are indeed.

    Sting the best ever.....BUT.....

by Tannaj on 2023-09-08Budweiser Stage - Toronto

....not sure if it was the sound system, but could not make out a word whenever Sting had something to say to the audience ...very frustrating when people in front of you are not only 3 times larger and taller, but rowdy, loud, standing up, so short people like myself could barely see. I stood up sometimes, but felt guilty about the people sitting behind me. ...worst part was sitting next to a young couple where the woman was having an 'intense', loud, NON-STOP, conversation with the guy - they didn't show any interest in the show, not sure why they came - think they were talking in an EAstern European language. Totally get that we like to share, chat with friends we've come with - but this woman was on a CONSTANT roll. It was PAINFULL!! took away so much of the joy.
