Stone Temple Pilots in Concert
With over 70 million albums sold, Stone Temple Pilots roared on to the scene in 1992 with their raucous debut, Core. A breakout success, the album peaked #3 on the Billboard 200 chart, and dominated radio waves with hits like "Sex Type Thing," "Wicked Garden," and the Grammy-Award winning smash single, "Plush." STP quickly distinguished themselves as a band beholden to no trend. Boasting the inimitable riffs of guitarist Dean DeLeo, the propulsive rhythm section of bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz, and the charismatic baritone of frontman Scott Weiland, STP ruled airways, video playlists and charts alike over their legendary career. The band released their seventh studio album, Stone Temple Pilots (2018), their first with new lead singer, Jeff Gutt. The debut single "Meadow" from the self-titled album, channels the gritty guitars and swaggering rhythms that STP is known for, and reached top 5 at rock radio. All Music Guide states, "They haven't lost their knack for hook-heavy hard rock that wedges its way into the subconscious."
Show was awsome and sound was excellent, glad to hear some of the old stuff. Great music and great performance what a show
it took them 40 minutes to make it to stage...they came on just as i was getting ready to leave! it was loud and very entertaining....i enjoyed every moment there
best STP show i have seen to date. unfortunately no drinks where allowed in the venue wich really sucked.
IT was a great show seats were awesom sound and lighting perfect..the band was in fine form the crowd was excited the songs were amazing
Great vibe. Band was a little under-rehearsed (Scott misplaced the lyrics several times and the rhythm section changed tempos frequently) but the sound was great and the audience loved it. I was so close that nothing will ever top the experience for me as a mega-STP fan. The staff was really pleasant and helpful; not like a regular rock venue staff downtown, which was refreshing! Thank you Casino Rama!
EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO HEAR DELIVERED WITH POWER AND PRECISION. I WOULD DEFINITELEY HAVE TO SAY THE BOYS ARE ON THE TOP OF THEIR GAME WITH THE PERFORMANCE DELIVERED LAST NIGHT. THE CROWD WAS LITERALLY MOVED, OR SHOULD I SAY BLOWN AWAY WITH THE POWER OF THIS BAND LAST NIGHT. LOOK IN THE DICTIONARY UNDER KILLER ROCK PERFORMANCE AND YOU WILL SEE THE STONE TEMPLE PILOTS.
killer show....weiland was a powerhouse!!!....only thing I didnt like......couldnt drink in the seats!!!!.............at a +19 venue!!!!........come on.....besides that killer show..
These guys rocked Casino Rama, playing almost the entire Core album, which was their first and I feel best album. I would go again to see STP.
STP was amazing! Scott and the band was excellent and sang and played the music so lose to what I remember from listening to the CD's 15 years ago that it just brought me right back... I would go an see them again if (when?) then come back to the Toronto area.
Awesome show! Scott Weiland sounded great! Rama a great venue!
To be completely honest, I was not expecting the show to be great. Heck, I wasn't even expecting good. I mean, come on, how much can we really hope to get from a coked-out hasbeen like Weiland? But I have to say I am totally eating my own words this morning. Although his dancing was a little on the perturbed side, his vocals were unbelievable. And not just at the beginning of the 90 minute set, but throughout, even into the encore. The man can definitely sing, not a studio performer like Corgan or Reznik. The rest of the band was great too. The show's special effects were pretty average, but I can't blame that all on the band....the venue might have had certain restrictions. This was my first experience with STP live although I have been a big fan since their release of their debit album 'Core' in '92. I hope it won't be the last!!
The band sounded amazing......Scott Weiland seemed a little disinterested at times, but again, the band sounded awesome!
great show i love the show be 10 min from home at rama the only thing i would complain about is that you can not drink at the show and they were 45 min late starting
STP put on an awesome event last night - I went with my son and husband and we all enjoyed it!
