About

Switchfoot are a Grammy-winning rock band from San Diego, California. Formed in 1996 by brothers Jon and Tim Foreman and drummer Chad Butler, the group released three albums before gaining major label attention following several prominent syncs in the 2002 romantic drama A Walk to Remember. In 2003, Switchfoot released their breakout fourth album The Beautiful Letdown, which went triple-platinum behind the band’s first Hot 100-charting singles “Meant to Live” and “Dare You to Move.” Their 2005 follow-up, Nothing Is Sound, hit a career-peak No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and the band would log another three Top 10 albums with 2011’s Vice Verses, 2014’s Fading West and 2016’s Where the Light Shines Through. Additionally, Switchfoot have earned six No. 1s on the Top Christian Albums chart, and their 2009 effort Hello Hurricane nabbed the band’s first Grammy for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album. In 2023, Switchfoot released The Beautiful Letdown (Our Version), a 20th anniversary re-recording via their self-run independent label, lowercase people records.

  • Good and bad

by Lmac on 2024-09-25Bronson Centre - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

Switchfoot the band was amazing. A number of us were disappointed with the Bronson centre. I won't go back there. The air quality was awful but what was so disappointing was the people that obviously were intoxicated were shouting at the bad throughout the concert. Also most of us were there to listen to this amazing band but we were shocked at the amount of talking around the 2 bars. So disrespectful to the band and those of us that were there to listen

  • Intimately loud and wonderful

    by Jeff A. on 2024-09-24Théâtre Beanfield - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

After having seen Switchfoot in Ottawa and Boston, it was extra special seeing the Beautiful Letdown Tour in our home town of Montreal. They deserved many times the intimate crowd, but those in attendance were exuberant, singing back every lyric. The Trews were all that an opening band should be and setting the energy bar high. When Switchfoot took the stage, the energy and excitement were at 11 from the first chord and ran through their full-throated encore. I love that Jon Foreman is fearless in his many forays into the crowd, including an acoustic rendition of 'Twenty-Four' on the standing-room floor, and their readiness to play anything from the expansive library, including This is Home. If Montreal is his kind of crazy, Switchfoot is our kind of spectacular.

  • Music night to remember

by Vladi on 2024-09-23Bronson Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

My son and I so enjoyed the evening with Switchfoot. The event was well organized and much fun. It was very loud though but it's understandable as the Bronson centre is smaller venue...

  • Best concert I’ve been to, hands down.

by Pat on 2024-09-23Bronson Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was small but made for a great concert and interaction with the crowd. Jon Foreman came in the crowd multiple times and really connected with everyone there. The lights were awesome, the sound was great they really did an awesome job. Switchfoot has been my favourite band for years and this just solidified that decision.

  • Great show! Mediocre venue

by Mim on 2024-09-23Bronson Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

Switchfoot put on a great show! Great audience connection and engagement. Never been to the Bronson Centre before and it was quite a disappointment. There is work being done on the exterior but the interior was dated, shabby, and the washrooms were smelly. Fortunately at least the sound quality for the concert was good.

  • Incredible

by Jonathan on 2024-09-23Bronson Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Hands down one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. Their stage presence along with the intimate vibe of the venue made for one of the most memorable concerts I’ve ever been to. Switchfoot is still killing it 12 albums later 🙌🤟

  • Switchfoot in Ottawa

by Garth on 2024-09-23Bronson Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

This was a great show! The singer really connected with the audience and went down and sang in the crowd and even on the 2nd floor balcony. Very impressed with John and the boys. 8.6 out of 10. I would see them again!

Switchfoot never disappoints! Regardless of the venue or crowd size, the band always seems to give it their all. The Ottawa show was no different. It felt like a special evening to see the band in such an intimate venue and they gave fans plenty to remember.
