It was the only concert I've ever been to that I knew every word to every song that was played. It was an incredible event that I had been waiting for since I was about 13 years old and I am 20 now. Just amazing!!!

The band was obviously excellent, so I'll focus more on the rest of the event. First of all, the sound. The concert wasn't nearly as loud as most shows I go to, which was really nice. Don't get me wrong, it was still plenty loud, but I could hear just fine the next day. I was in the front row for most of the concert, and was therefore behind the main line array speakers. Most of the sound I could hear was from the onstage monitors I think, because the mix wasn't very good (I could barely hear Serge for most of the show). The crowd was pretty rough and aggressive, but never mean spirited. The security did a fantastic job. I've seen security get a bit aggressive at events like this, but they seemed like all they cared about was making sure no one got hurt. I missed the opener who are one of my favourite bands. They apparently started playing as soon as the doors opened. This usually isn't the case at most venues, so it'd be nice to have a heads up.

SOAD is back and Vancouver ate it up. The crowd was standing from the moment they took the stage till the end. Lots of fun!

Best might of my life....seriously! System of a Down=the best band ever. I love them. Serj Tankian is my hero. They played all of the best songs, and they were a lot of fun to see. And Daron's guitar solos? Great! Only bad thing about it was that they did no encore and did not meet their fans after the show. Other than that, it was absolutely amazing. I'd see them again. For sure! There wasn't much choice for Merchandise either. A lot of bands have more of a variety.

  • Soad killed it awsome show!!!

  • System should have stayed on hiatus!!!

Worst show I have seen in a longtime! Big let down. My expectations were high for this concert considering how long its been since they have made anything new. I think there show is better suited for smaller venues with just general admission seating. I don't think it is worth money to watch that type of show from seats.

  • System of an asskicking

by mikw on 2011-05-15Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Very cool multi-layered music that sounded better than the recording in most cases. The harmonies between the two lead signers brought a synergy that isn't seen in rock bands much anymore. The timing of these guys is impeccable. I hope they are around for decades to come setting the standard in metal.

  • Worth the moshpit bruises!

by Milaz90 on 2011-05-15Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This seemed like my last chance to see the boys together in Vancouver. I heard that they sound immaculate live but it was only a myth until I heard it for myself. They opened with Prison Song and it felt like christmas morning. I was up front and centre in the moshpit for 90% of the show singing along with all the other crazies. The other 10% was stepping back to get some air from all the pushing and sweat absorbing into my shirt, but wow was it ever worth enduring it. These guys are legends and deserve your attendance.

  • System of a Down...What a frickin Party!

by PiercingGuy on 2011-05-14Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This show fricken rocked. I have to say, if you read my last post about the Big 4 that Vancouvers pit at this show killed all of the BIg 4 Pit in only minutes never mind 7 hours,

  • System of a Gogol

by makooser on 2011-05-14Rexall Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

System of a Down had so much energy and that energy was completely wholesome. It was very clear that the band was happy to be touring together again. They absolutely blew me away. I had such a great time. The band was interactive and put their all into the performance. I had an amazing time! Gogol Bordello was also a spectacular opening band they had the crowd right pumped fro System even though we didn't need any help for that. Gogol Bordello also had amazing energy and knew how to please a crowd. They put on a great performance as well. All in all the show was unbelievable and I had a CRAZY GOOD time/

  • Interpretive dance!!

by bedroomrockstar on 2011-05-14Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

System of a Down did not disappoint in any way! Daron is quite the performer, blending interpretive dancing, head banging and running around to make a really good show! Serj's voice was perfect, the whole band was amazing. Great set, great energy, loved it! I hope this is not the last SOAD show in Vancouver!!!!

The most intense mosh pit! Saw these guys back in 2005 in Calgary. Still the most amazing pit in metal.Makes Slayer look like a little kids birthday party!!!

  • Nice!

by ThirtySeven on 2011-05-14Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Good old SOAD. They sang all their hits and it was very nostalgic. I didn't like the band that was on warm-up, Gogol Bordello. So boring, I saw audience was just texting during Gogol's perfomance.
