Taylor Swift - Sparkling Performance in Calgary
by CalgaryFan on 2009-07-09Pengrowth Saddledome - CalgaryLast night I went to the Taylor Swift concert with two of my friends. During the concert Taylor Swift did not refer to any of us as "fans" the entire audience was referred to as her "friends". When Taylor said this all I heard was screams at the fact that she could be so genuine as to see us has friends. Between songs Taylor would talk, she was telling everything she has experienced and why she wrote a certain song for example "Teardrops on my guitar", she was sarcastic, hilarious and all around an amazlingly nice person! At one point a song got a little screwy but she kept going like nothing had happened.... which I could never do! Halfway through the song she walked down the aisle in which she had been preforming and started to hug and take pictures with fans. How many singers would do that in the middle of the concert? After singing Tim MaGraw, the crowd cheered for a solid 5 minuets, when we finally stopped she simply went to the mic and said "Calgary..... I will never forget that!" To hear that it actually brought some tears to some eyes (including mine), because knowing that she could remeber a city like us is so cool! Even though most of Taylor Swifts' songs are about heartbreaks and hard times in school she relates to even some 13 year olds just like me. Every girl will go through a heartbreak, want there fairytale fantasy and burn there ex-boyfriends pictures just like Taylor, and that is how she can relate to so many teenage girls. This was the first time I have ever seen Taylor Swift in concert, she was amazing, my perfect role modle, and I will never ever ever forget this experiance! Thank-you Taylor for being such an amazing person for teens and tweens to look up too! <3
