The Cat Empire is a genre-defying ensemble that formed in Melbourne, Australia, in 1999. Blending ska, jazz, rocksteady, and hip-hop, the six-piece produces a wildly eclectic sound and live show that has toured worldwide, from major festivals like Glastonbury to making buzzworthy appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The Cat Empire has produced multiple No. 1 albums in Australia, including Two Shoes (2005) and Rising with the Sun (2016). After announcing their decision to disband in 2021, a refreshed lineup was announced in July 2023 led by original members Ollie McGill and Felix Riebl with the additions of Grace Barbé on bass, Daniel Farrugia on drums, Neda Rahmani on percussion and Lazaro Numa on trumpet. On August 25, The Cat Empire released their ninth studio album, Where The Angels Fall, with a supporting world tour scheduled for the fall.

Amazing show in a great room. The sound is incredible and the staff is warm and accommodating. 5 stars all around. Thanks for a great night out
Sat up in the mezzanine. Very comfortable seating and great view. Parking and entry was seamless. Will definitely check out other shows here.
Cat Empire DELIVERED!!! Show was amazing right from the start. My first time at History and this is fantastic as well. Great energy from the band, great environment and one of the best covers I have heard. I would put that night on repeat any day!!!
The performances of Cat Empire and Steph Strings were awesome. High energy and great musicians made for a phenomenal evening!
I loved the show, both the familiar and new tunes. I still miss Harry but Grace sang a wonderful version of one of his songs. Neda was on fire, too. This is the second (of two) times where I found the sound quality (at mezzanine level) poor at the History venue. Can’t this be improved? Anyway, thanks Cats for an awesome show!
Wonderful, high energy band! Amazing musicians and great set list. Loved it!
From the moment the Cat Empire enters the stage by walking through the crowd drumming until they close the almost 2 hour set, they never slow down. Amazing energy, super fun songs. Always a pleasure! The venue was awesome too. Spacious and well run.
Took a few friends who have never seen Cat Empire before and they did not disappoint. Great to see the crew back in North America for a stint.
The Cat Empire is always a high energy terrific concert! I highly recommend seeing them if you ever get the chance.
Second time at a cat empire show.. overall good show with some uneven moments. i think in general the crowd relly enjoyed the show but a lot of pepole left early or took trips outside to ge somme air/oxygen wich was clearly missing. even the non moving sitting down pepole where sweathing havelly.. ventilation problem., to many pepole in the theater?? but the band is great..
Always a great show full of joy, love and rhythm!!
Very unfortunate. This band is not what it used to be. I am one of their biggest fans, but as I stepped out of the venue I didn't feel like I had seen the Cat Empire.
We always love seeing The Cat Empire live - such an amazing and uplifting experience!
We I’llU my my MLI Iuui up I’m outl lol I’ll ya I u
I have seen The Cat Empire Perform about 12 times over the past 9 years. They are as good as ever putting on a killer stage show with top notch talent. They are tight but never self absorbed. Come prepared to dance and smile, this is all about having a good time!!!
If you like dancing for 2 hrs. straight, then this was the show for you. If you prefer to wallow in the corner while listening to [enter your worst depressing band here], then it's a good thing you sat this one out. These boys ALWAYS deliver.
Cat Empire was amazing! They always display incredible musicianship and energy and I love going to see them live! Their new album was great and they played a great setlist!
You were fabulous! I will come and see you again wherever you play.
Great live show and spectacular music. We were out of our seats, dancing for most of the concert. All the musicians are very talented. The band seems to really enjoy delivering the goods and then giving back even more from the energy and excitement they receive from the fans.
Everyone who went to see this live performance of The Cat Empire at the Metropolis in Montreal left there a fan! The sheer energy evoked by this group of extremely talented musicans was astounding. Every musician was exhalted with solo performances, every song was a favourite. Audience participation was true, pure and relentless, exciting to be part of. Everyone moved and grooved, sang along and were begging for more. I brought 3 friends along for the ride(old farts, like myself) and they couldn't believe how remarkable this band of minstrels were and how moved they were with their passionate renditon of every single song. I saw them 2 years ago when they came to Montreal and loved them then. I will go again and again! Thank you, Cat Empire, wish you didn't live so far away.
