Rating: 4 out of 5by Jade81 on 2009-11-18Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton Rating: 5 out of 5 Breathtaking Performance of Cinderella
by Unknowncritic on 2009-11-18Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonThe Moscow Ballet's rendition of Cinderella was absolutely spellbinding and and the company breathtaking. The dance was superb and the costumes magnificent.
Rating: 4 out of 5by qeen2 on 2009-11-18Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton I thought this was a fantastic performance. The only thing that would have made it better is more stage props. It was a little bare. BUT, the show itself was fantastic. Definitely worth seeing!
Rating: 2 out of 5 Ballet was disappointing
by skatergirl on 2009-11-18Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonWith the exception of a few dancers the dancing was average. The warm up act although entertaining seemed out of place.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Moscow Ballet's Cinderella....was amazing
by AudArt on 2009-11-18Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonI took my grandaughter (3 years old ) and she loved it. The story was easily followed and the dance teacher and his antics were hysterical. The music and costumes were a truly beautiful accessory to the talents of the dancers.
Rating: 5 out of 5by zemunovic on 2009-11-18Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton We were really impressed with the music, costumes and of course dancing.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Cinderella was great for all ages!
by dar01 on 2009-11-18Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonThe costumes were beautiful of course however their version of the story was really enjoyable. There was graceful dance and great humour considering it was done in silence. This was the first time for my two young daughters and I to experience a Ballet and we'd gladly go again.
Rating: 2 out of 5by Anonymous on 2009-11-18Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton It was dissaponting with no flair. The costumes were nice but the actuall choreography left alot to be desired. The ballet itself seemed very simplistic and left us all waiting for some kind of interesting mix of moves. The second half was too long and drawn out but atleast we got to see a few more ballet moves between Cinderella and the Prince.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Cinderella was Beautiful
by Nikkie00 on 2009-11-18Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonIt was well danced, the costumes were absolutely gorgeous and I loved the music. However the story line wasn't in as much depth as I was hoping it would be, It was too brief for me.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Not like the REAL ballets in Moscow!
by nellya on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonI've had the priviledge of attending ballets in the Kremlin theater, Mali theater and at the Bolshoi in Moscow. I expected the same level of excellence from a "Moscow" ballet troupe! 3 main problems- 1. No live orchestra= canned music and problems with the music in the middle of the performance. 2. No spot lights= only full stage lighting- not even colour changes. 3. Lack of Unity among the dancers especially the 2nd and 3rd level and with NO spot lights directing attention to the principal dancers, it was impossible to ignore the lack of unity in the secondary dancers!!! If a group is going to call itself the "Moscow Ballet", then it better be ready to live up to that reputation of excellence and unity!!!!! Also, the Jubilee should have enforced a NO photo/video policy- flashes going off in the middle of the performance was annoying And distracting!
Rating: 1 out of 5 Cinderella was disappointing
by ElizaDoo on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonI bought tickets for myself, my hubby and four daughters. Was looking forward to a tight, polished, elegant performance. For some reason I assumed a ballet from Moscow would be even more exciting than one performed by a Canadian troupe. We couldn't believe our eyes. Very amateur--music glitches--no unison by the men. The females were better. The first half was extremely disappointing, the second half was tolerable. Never once did I feel like I was watching disciplined professionals.
Rating: 1 out of 5 Horrible! I wanted to leave at Intermission!!
by Xia81 on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonFirst of all, I didn't know that this show was a fundraiser. Second, I didn't pay $125/ticket to watch children and badly rehearsed dancers flit abouthte stage. I thought I was going to a profesional ballet when I was seeing amateur hour. Miss-steps, stumbles, faulty music, bad timing, scowling dancers, bad acting-- this show had it all. I used to dance and had we even put on a show like this, we would have been laughed of the stage. Even the principle (Cinderella) was more interested in looking at the sky or the crowd than her partner (the prince). The brochure said they are married, so where was the chemistry??!! And the randomness of some of the scenes... what the hell are the oranges for? What was that symbolizing? Just one of many random parts of this ballet which made it hard to follow, combined with the distracting lack of music at times (CD was skipping-- couldn't even afford a real orchestra) made this show not worth my time. I would love to get a refund.

Rating: 1 out of 5 Worst performance I have ever seen!
by samanthawho88 on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonThis was possibly the worst ballet performance I have ever seen. The dancing was poorly timed, the music cut out, performers were not even trying to impress the audience. I would never go see a Moscow ballet performance again. Please save your money and go see your own Alberta ballet dance company!
Rating: 1 out of 5 A Disappointment
by jna20 on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonHaving seen the Moscow Ballet before, I attended this performance expecting greatness, what I got was a sub par ballet, with relatively mediocre dancing. It seemed to me that that added elements that did not need to be there, in order to fill time such as the dancing oranges and lawn gnomes. We saw way to much of the various fairies and the step mother and sisters got far to much time. The best dancer in the show, the russian folk dancer got a 30 second snippet while the spanish dancers had a 5 minute repetitive dance that made me want to stand up and leave. All in all it was extremely disappointing and if this had been the first ballet I had ever attended, I would never attend one again. Compared to the Moscow Ballets Swan lake I saw in Boston this production was a joke.
Rating: 4 out of 5 cindirella was good
by sani on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonThe ballet was excellent as well all the costumes Unfortunately the music was unexpected off a some point that wasn't good for this type of event, the dancers however continue to dance, hope can be solve it for next venues The singer at the begining was not my favorite, also made the venue to long being with kids, I think was not appropiate for the presentation prior to the ballet
Rating: 3 out of 5 Moscow Ballet
by gabi on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmontonthe dancers of the ballet were great but the music terrible as well as the intro with the piano player was out of line
Rating: 2 out of 5 WRONG IMPRESSION
by Emad on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonWhen i booked my tickets, i thought i will see a big production. I was disappointed for the first part (it felt like a volunteers work, not professional one). But after the intermission, it was a lot better and more real ballet.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Guinol on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton It was amazing performance. Beautiful and professional artists. But I do not think it was a good idea to spend my time listening this singer, who was performed first.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Moscow Ballet was a fun night out
by njfr on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonThe Dancers were impeccable and except for a slight glitch with the music in the first half of the show, it was a fun night of dance. My only complaint was the opening singer, although very talanted, just didn't seem appropriate to the event. It took away the magic that a ballet provides for me.
