First there wasn't a live orchestra there fore the music skipped and missed about 10 minutes of the Ballet. Second, when you are paying 125 a ticket i don't expect to see 7 year olds dancing on the stage. They ruined the whole experience. I wouldn't have bought the tickets if I knew that. It wasn't worth it at all. The principle dancers were amazing.

The music was awesome, as was the dancing. The actual event was great. The little children being bored because they didn't understand what was happening..that definitely took away from the experience.

  • Cinderella was forgettable

This was the most boring ballet performance I have ever attended. My daughter had never been to the ballet and she was very dissapointed as was I.

400 costumes, artistic grace, and energy!. Local children included in the program. Amazing show.

  • Moscow Ballet's: Cinderella

by Musicalgirl on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

A very good show. There was a musical glitch (maybe a few times?) so it was obvious it was recorded music. The stepmother and stepsisters were absolutely hilarious. It was great to see local children in the production. We were in row AA, which on the Jubilee map shows no rows in front, however there were 4-5 additional rows added in front and they slopped upwards so because there were very tall people in front of us we missed some of the performance. I would not recommend row AA.

  • The Moscow Ballet?

by BobsNephew on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 1 out of 5

This must have been the B team. The performance was significantly inferior to what the National Ballet regularly executes. Poor form and timing pervaded the show.

  • Nice Performance

by Anonymous on 2009-11-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

The event was really nice, but I would recommend not getting seats in the 2nd balcany...you do not get the whole effect and feeling of the show. They had some trouble with the music, but overall it was a nice performance...would I see it again probaly not.

A few music glitches...the music skipped and stopped a few times. I expected so much more from the famous 'Moscow Ballet'. Dancing was mediocre...forgetable.The opening act (see? I already can't recall her name)..was good, but I did not go there, spend that money to see 'her'. I am all for focusing on and supporting local talent, but would rather do it on MY terms.....like I said...I didn't pay all that money to see her, I wanted to see the Ballet.

The ballet skills this troupe demonstrated was average. The stage direction did not work for me either.

I enjoyed the Nutcracker performance by the Moscow Ballet. It was my Grandaughters 1st ballet and she enjoyed it very much. It is alway woderful to see the local talent added to the show .

  • My girl loved it and says they are real

by lucybabes on 2009-11-13TCU Place - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

I loved the music and i thought that the whole ballet was beautiful. Even the little ones were cute. I would have loved if my girl who was five got a booster seat, I had to put her on my lap even though I buy one ticket for her.

  • At least it was a charity event....

by DebLT on 2009-11-13Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 1 out of 5

What can I say, the best part of the evening was Jenn the former Canadian Idol participant, great voice and very charming. The ballet was poorly done. From the opening act that didn't follow the story line in the program to the closing number there wasn't much to see. It seems the 'Moscow Ballet ' was 2-4 dancers supported by our own Alberta Ballet group. We saw two quite well done dances by the Moscow principles and the rest was the AB trying to keep a staight line and dance in step with one another. It was amature and poorly executed. At least it was a charity event although we should have left at intermission with many others....Practice makes perfect...keep trying.

  • Moscow Ballet's Cinderella

by Theatrebuff1 on 2009-11-12Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The ballet was nice but the a couple of older dancers from Calgary should have spent more time trying to fit in instead of trying to be the star of the show.

  • Costumes were great

  • Cinderella was magical

by lionwind on 2009-11-12Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great show. Not only is it the wonderful story of Cinderella, but it also had humour. The cotumes were fantastic, and the dancers were amazing.

It was good. Due to the nature of the show (children friendly), the timing was quite late. I will not attend another ballet with my child unless it is a matinee or early evening. My daughter is 10 and she dosed through much of the 2nd half of the show as did several other children around me. I would not recommend that friends consider taking their children to something that ends this late.

  • colorful magic

by daian on 2009-11-11Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

A thoroughly enteraining evening. The skill and grace of the dancers was amazing. The colorful costumes added to the authenticity of a Russian ballet.
