About

When The Fray first burst onto the scene in the early aughts, the Colorado-bred band introduced the world to a profoundly life-affirming form of alt-rock: timeless but inventive, arena-sized in scope but firmly rooted in raw emotion. Over the coming years, their soul-searching songwriting and high-powered sound led to earning four Grammy Award nominations, scoring a multitude of Billboard top 10 hits, and amassing a passionately devoted worldwide fanbase. Their single "How To Save A Life" spent a staggering 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the "unofficial theme song" for Grey's Anatomy. Rolling Stone praised their "stick-in-your-head hooks and eloquent narratives," while the LA Times called their music "melodically rich." The Fray's debut album How To Save A Life (2005) is certified double-platinum in the US and has been declared one of the best-selling digital debuts of all time.

  • Jack's/The Fray was amazinggggggggg

by Weeze on 2009-07-16DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Both artists played exceptionally well. The energy of the crows was magnificent. No other concert has ever compared. I enjoyed every minute of it!

  • Completely Disappointed

by Steve837 on 2009-07-16DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 1 out of 5

Simply put, I was extremely disappointed with the show. The venue was terrible, no energy, it was extremely hard to get into the music. I went mainly for Jack's Mannequin, and they had them play while people were walking in, they played them like a local opener before main bands play. Then The Fray was just not good live. Not good performers at all. I actually enjoy the Fray's music, but I'd never see them live again. In conclusion, I'll never go to a show at DTE again. I'll stick with my floor venues. . .

  • FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC!!!!

    by Nesta13 on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Jack's Mannequin was probably one of the best opening acts I've seen!!! Very energetic and really got the crowd goin'. Now, The Fray.... oh my goodness!!! I got my sister to tag along with me because I didn't want to go alone. She only knew their singles, so only came along for me... She absolutely LOVES them now! The concert has totally won her over. The lighting for the concert was unreal, they sound amazing live and display the most incredible stage presence! I suggest that if you even like one or two of their songs go to the concert. You'll appreciate them sooo much more! :o)

  • First Concert, but not my last!

by Tenny on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I’d like to say that seeing jack’s Mannequin was great, although I’ve heard their music before. The fray however was AMAZING!!! It was my first concert and I loved it. The fray is great band who kept me, my friends and the crowd mesmerised from their opening song “happiness” to their fake closing song “how to save a life” to their real last song “all at once” I cant say it enough it was a great concert and I cant wait til the fray comes back to Toronto again!

  • The Fray were Incredible!!

I had no idea that The Fray would sound better in concert than on their album or on the radio. They were amazing.

  • The Fray was amazing !

by nads on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The fray was absolutely incredible. Their stage was thoughtfully planned out and they played all their songs from the new album. It was extremely inspirational as they did close ups of Issac playing his piano. Everyone in the ampitheatre completely connected as the weather was amazing and we sang along with them. A brilliant show.

  • Great performances, but douchebaggy opening

by Lordeagle2000 on 2009-07-16DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

Let's get it out of the way: whoever opened for Jack's Mannequin & the Fray was a total jerk. Now, me and my friends laid on the grass at DTE since it was a beautiful day and we all LOVED the performances by Jack's Mannequin and the Fray. First time seeing either of them live, but they're really really great artists (that means both in the studio AND live, so like so other, and I'm looking at you Avril Lavigne). Ambiance was there, great thing about "young" bands is that they play ALL the songs you love :)) So if you like singing along to How To Save a Life, You Found Me or Dark Blue you'll love having thousands of people around you that enjoy it too! Thanks!!

  • FRAY... and Jack's Mannequin... WOW

by treehead on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was unbelievable!!!! I have a new appreciation for the Fray and their music because of the concert... and also, Jack's Mannequin is my new favourite band because of their ability to do such an AMAZING performance. PS I really admire how those guys could play the piano. After 16 years of lessons I can't do anything near that. I guess that's why I'm not in a band :)

  • The Fray with Jack's Mannequin

by Siarra on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue to see this show. Jack's Mannequin were great, but The Fray were outstanding. The video screens were fantastic, and they came to entertain. Great Night!!

  • the fray is totally amazing!!

by megsy on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

i have seen the fray 3 times now, twice at the molson ampatheatre, and they are just so incredible. They put on an amazing show, its just one song after another after another. They don't even take time away from the show, to introduce themselves until the encour! They are just really great preformers, and i would definitly pay to see them again. The atmosphere and the preformance were exceptional.

  • LOVE the Fray!

What a great concert! Set was amazing. The Fray was definitely even better live than on their CD and Jack's Mannequin was great too!

  • BEST CONCERT EVER!

by JessLilo on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Jack's mannequin and The Fray both brought an energy that was unforgettable. The Fray sounded exactly like they do on their CD. Overall amazing performance by both bands.

  • The Fray & Jack's Mannequin were amazing!

by PurpleGirrl on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Though I didn't get to see the the opening band, Richard Swift, Jack's Mannequin and The Fray tore up the house! Jack's Mannequin was soo high in energy and the music they played rocked. When The Fray came out later on, everyone was really excited because the atmosphere was so cool with the lights and such. The cameras on each band member was a cool touch to the songs that the band played. Both bands did a very good job live musically speaking. It was easily one of my most enjoyed concert ever.

  • An amazing concert!

    by Suzi24 on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The Fray with Jack's Mannequin was a amazing concert that will not be easily forgotten. Jack's Mannequin warmed the crowd up with their meaningful lyrics and awesome songs, and The Fray's concert was simply terrific. The crowd was enthusiastic, and the band played amazingly. Thank you to The Fray and Jack's Mannequin!

  • Jack's Mannequin was a great surprise.

by Chriso on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I have all The Fray's songs and albums and I knew they would be a good show, which they were, but I had never heard of Jack's Mannequin until I bought my Fray tickets. They opened for the band with a bang because they were so full of life. The lead singer of the Jack's played the piano hard and posed to be, stunning entertainment. Even if you don't like their music I think you would be impressed by their performance.

  • Jack's Mannequin should be the headlining act!

    by Jennie28 on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

As my name suggests Jack's Mannequin should be the headlining act for this tour. Not to say that the Fray aren't good, they were amazing, but Jack's was full of energy and their music was unbelieveable! I was hoping that the Fray would do more of their popular songs but I suppose if you're a big fan you would appreciate anything they performed. I'm glad that Jack's did have more time than the usual opening band is given. Even my sisters who aren't fans LOVED their performace and we are all eagerly awaiting their return to Toronto!

  • JM was surprising & The Fray was awesome!

    by angelinas84 on 2009-07-16Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I had never heard of Jack's Mannequin until they opened up for The Fray. I had never been to a concert with such an amazing opener for a group. JM to me was simply surprising because it was in tune with The Fray and their music is quite similar and yet also different. We had lawn seats and the noise was spectacular and everyone was chilled and the atmosphere was relaxed and the weather even stayed gorgeous for a night! :D
