Cute and vaguely spectacular. The acoustics were nothing special.

A New York trip's highlight for us!

by Coryo on 2016-08-12Minskoff Theatre - New York

I hadn't seen the Lion King musical yet, although I wanted to for years. My nearly 12 year old daughter and I went to see this while in New York. We booked a few months prior from home in Vancouver, BC, and were able to get row 12 seats in the Centre Orchestra. It was fantastic being able to see all the facial expressions, plus the overall feel of the entire stage when filled with actors. The show was amazing. It was just so very good! We both enjoyed it so much. An intermission reminder is that the top floor women's washroom had no lineup!

    It's a must see!

by Tanta on 2016-08-05Minskoff Theatre - New York

Absolutely stunning performance. Our children 11 and 17 year-old boys could not stop talking about it. The costumes, acting, voices all created a magical evening for the whole family. It was not only entertaining but truly breathtaking choreography. It was well worth the price.

Lion King theatre was so hot

by DenisIII on 2016-06-28Minskoff Theatre - New York

I don't know if the theatre is old and with so many people, it was quite hot taking away from an experience that was well done. Good show, uncomfortable heat.

The Lion King - Simply amazing!!!

by Jazzychick on 2015-08-23Minskoff Theatre - New York

This was our very first Broadway show and our first time in New York, and we were so impressed with the quality of the performances, the brightly coloured costumes, and the fantastic characters and storyline!! Not to mention the singing and dancing! Every performer was spot on and you could see in their faces that they were excited to be there! The younger performers held their own in the scene they did alone together and throughout! Loved every minute of it! Worth every penny! Thank you to all involved for a spectacular experience which we will never forget!!

    AMAZING at first ... but

by naesther on 2015-03-07Minskoff Theatre - New York

Act 1 was absoutely AMAZING. I was so awed with the amazing stage art, displays, music, costumes, and singing. I felt so alive as if I was invited in this exotic life in Africa. At this moment, I was going to recommend everyone to purchase expansive orchestra seats - as my seating in orchestra seating row P maximized my experience with the broadway show. Then Hakunah Matata came along and the switch from young Simba to adult Simba took place. Wow... the voice and singing ability of adult Simba was so not at par with the rest of the crew. I was so disappointed. Whenever the actor for adult Simba hit the high pitch, I felt frustrated. As if, I was so mad that he made me to become judgemental of his singing ability, instead of enjoying the show. Can't you feel the love tonight - was so bad. The singing of both actor and actress were not broadway standards. I winced overtime they tried to sing high notes. Act 2, definitely, did not deserve all the praises this musical show has been receiving for past years. They need new Simba asap.

    Amazing Show

by 0104brit on 2015-02-20Minskoff Theatre - New York

I went to the show on a Sunday evening and it was soo good. The actors and actresses did a phenomenal job imitating animals, it was just like I was watching the actual movie. The theater is a very intimate setting, so if you are sitting far back in the mezzanine, DON'T WORRY, you will enjoy the show no matter where you are sitting.
