About

Built on the solid, classic rock foundation of three-part harmonies and dual guitar leads, Canada's Juno Award-winning Sheepdogs blend Southern rock, groove-based psychedelia, and bluesy barroom swagger into a modern rock & roll revival. Emerging in 2004, the band found mainstream success in 2010 with the release of their platinum-selling third LP, Learn & Burn, and continued to top the Canadian charts with efforts like The Sheepdogs (2012), Future Nostalgia (2015), Changing Colours (2018), and Outta Sight (2022).

Hailing from the Saskatchewan city of Saskatoon, the band features the talents of Ewan Currie (vocals, guitar), Ryan Gullen (bass), Sam Corbett (drums), Shamus Currie (keyboard/trombone) and Rick Paquette (guitar). From Canadian roadhouses to global music festivals, their on-stage and on-road hours are countless, underscoring their endurance in the music scene. The release of Future Nostalgia and Changing Colours further enriched their discography, leading up to the 2022 release of the jubilant hook-filled Outta Sight, solidifying their impact in the rock domain.

Most recently, their singles from Outta Sight spent a cumulative 90 weeks with at least 1 song in the top 20 at Canadian Rock radio. Prior, their hit singles "I Don't Know" and "Feeling Good" both reached Platinum certification, with "The Way It Is" achieving Gold sales. Additionally, the albums Learn & Burn and The Sheepdogs both achieved Platinum status, and to date the band has been nominated for 11 JUNO awards, winning four.

    Sheepdogs

by Bob on 2023-01-31National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

It was an amazing show that highlighted the talents of the “Gatineau Rocket”. The venue at the NAC was superb and there is not a bad seat in the house. The show was really all about the music.

    Best Sheepdog show yet!

by Fuzz on 2023-01-31National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

This is the 4th time I’ve seen the Sheepdogs and the best one yet. The NAC is the best place to go for a show, it has amazing acoustics. I was a little worried after hearing Jimmy Bowskil had left the band. But Ricky did an amazing job on guitar and the whole show seemed “heavier” than normal and the crowd was really into it. I think all the guys should be applauded for a job well done. Enjoy your much deserved break guys. See you at the next one!

    Wow!

Sheepdogs make great records, but the live experience was really something else. NAC is an outstanding venue for RnR shows.

    Sound needed balancing

by Jpat on 2023-01-31National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Good band, good music, good opener. Guitar was so loud I thought my ears were bleeding. Had a hard time hearing the vocals / drummer / etc. Also, every song had a 2 minute guitar solo. Very cool at first, got boring after an hour.

    Speechless

I have seen many a concert, and have never felt an urge to leave a review. These cats have that effect. I have seen Clapton, Gilmour, the Stones, and so on. These guys take the cake, and the reason is simple. Energy. These guys exude the energy of a band that is on top of their game. I will see them again, and it will be amazing… thank you sincerely, Sheepdogs

    Amazing Show

    by Alyse on 2023-01-24

Everything about this band is incredible. My boyfriend and I saw them for the first time in September 2022 and since then have seen them three times! They put on such a fun show. All I will say is, I wish there was more fan engagement and longer sets! One of the shows we went to was only an hour (luckily two pre bands).

Great show! You can’t beat the Commodore Vancouver. Sheepdogs were amazing from start to finish. The surprise of the night was Boy Golden. I’d never heard of them but I guarantee this Winnipeg band is going places. They’ve got an original sound 🎶🎶

    Great

by Topfan on 2022-11-25Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Great venue, great band, good time had by all,... alchohol is outrageously expensive, a can of beer 9.50$. For one can. You really should be embarrassed to charge these prices.
