About

Built on the solid, classic rock foundation of three-part harmonies and dual guitar leads, Canada's Juno Award-winning Sheepdogs blend Southern rock, groove-based psychedelia, and bluesy barroom swagger into a modern rock & roll revival. Emerging in 2004, the band found mainstream success in 2010 with the release of their platinum-selling third LP, Learn & Burn, and continued to top the Canadian charts with efforts like The Sheepdogs (2012), Future Nostalgia (2015), Changing Colours (2018), and Outta Sight (2022).

Hailing from the Saskatchewan city of Saskatoon, the band features the talents of Ewan Currie (vocals, guitar), Ryan Gullen (bass), Sam Corbett (drums), Shamus Currie (keyboard/trombone) and Rick Paquette (guitar). From Canadian roadhouses to global music festivals, their on-stage and on-road hours are countless, underscoring their endurance in the music scene. The release of Future Nostalgia and Changing Colours further enriched their discography, leading up to the 2022 release of the jubilant hook-filled Outta Sight, solidifying their impact in the rock domain.

Most recently, their singles from Outta Sight spent a cumulative 90 weeks with at least 1 song in the top 20 at Canadian Rock radio. Prior, their hit singles "I Don't Know" and "Feeling Good" both reached Platinum certification, with "The Way It Is" achieving Gold sales. Additionally, the albums Learn & Burn and The Sheepdogs both achieved Platinum status, and to date the band has been nominated for 11 JUNO awards, winning four.

    The Sheepdogs were bang on!

by TorontoSam on 2012-09-17Echo Beach powered by Rogers - Toronto

Great opening acts, particularly Yukon Blonde. The Sheepdogs were unbelievably tight. They played a long set full of favorites and had the whole crowd rocking out hard! What a show.

Couldn't beat the venue, sound and music.

The doors opened up around 8pm, the opening act was great. They sounded like Soundgarden and played just the right amount of songs. The Sheepdogs came on stage about 10:15pm. My spot from the balcony was the best spot in the house.

Sheepdogs ROCK and so does MonsterTruck. It's great to see good rock bands in a sea of average and crappy music.

    AMAZING SHEEPDOGS

by Shaniggle on 2011-12-15Lee's Palace - Toronto

One of the best shows I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot! I can guarantee you I was not on drugs and I almost fainted (but mostly due to dehydration) BUUUT one of their awesome solo's got my heart racing and I could feel myself becoming very light-headed and had to leave the front of the show :( ! The only thing I wasn't happy with is that they played too long, obviously I wouldn't feel that way if I lived in Toronto but I don't, so I had to rush out of there at 1am, but the show continued until 2am!! Totally upsetting that I missed a whole hour of them.

    Great Show

by Hipdude on 2011-12-03Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Sheepdogs put on a solid performance. I voted for them for the Rolling Stone cover. They did not disappoint and am looking forward to seeing their careers progress. Young Rival and Monster Truck were also very good. Overall, a great night of music! The concert bowl set-up at Copps Coliseum should be used more frequently. It beats seeing a show at the Hamilton Convention Centre any day. The acoustics are not the greatest at the Convention Centre and that "damn pole/pillar" blocks the view of the stage.

    Rock and Roll!

by Eulogy on 2011-12-02Copps - Hamilton

Such an amazing vibe, great crowd and incredible performance. The Sheepdogs bring together a great group of rock lovers, all of whom appreciate great music and a solid performance. It’s great seeing such a talented Canadian Band doing so well and performing in large venues. The only downside to this concert is that they did not play long enough. Fans were left wanting more; easily another hour of songs would have been appreciated. If you are a fan of classic rock this is a band you must see! An encore of Neil Young’s Down by the River was a perfect ending to the concert, I could have listened to that all night!

    Great night of Rock music

    by JohnMayerFAN1988 on 2011-11-28Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Sheepdogs were great as they played their old-fashioned but new rock and were very good. Amazing musically and singing which was as good as the albums. They played a great variety from their three albums which and topped it with the encore cover of Neil Young's Down by the River with the two opening acts, Monster Truck and Young Rival. About the opening bands, they were great too. Monster Truck absolutely killed it with their very tight and intense rock and had the place going crazy just before the Sheepdogs. The first band, Young Rival was good too and I look forward to seeing these bands again in the future.

    Monster Truck and the Sheepdogs

by OccasionalRocker on 2011-11-28Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Monster Truck was amazing!!! Well worth the ticket price on their own. The vocalists have a great harmony and the guitar playing is awesome! Just a plain, killer rock band. The Sheepdogs were a bit too slow for me. Infact, we left before they finished. They were as good as you might expect at palying their tunes.
