About

The Smashing Pumpkins are one of the most influential alt-rock bands of the ’90s. Billy Corgan formed the band in 1988 with guitarist James Iha. In the 1990s alone, the band released classic albums like the four-time platinum Siamese Dream (1993) — which was ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest albums of all time — and the double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995), which debuted at No.1 on Billboard 200 and produced hit singles like “1979” and “Tonight, Tonight.” The Smashing Pumpkins have toured with acts like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Guns N’ Roses. They’ve made guest appearances on The Simpsons, won two GRAMMY Awards and have sold over 30 million albums.

    Great show terrible crowd

by HarrisHasselrod on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Rival Sons, Interpol & The Smashing Pumpkins all gave their best and put on a fantastic show. The pumpkins especially were fantastic, playing from all areas of their 35+ year catalogue. The showmanship, the energy, the sound was all amazing. The crowd at Budweiser stage was awful. It was like a bunch of 15 year olds found the parents liquor cabinet. Far too many wasted people passing out, vomiting, getting rowdy.

    Excellent time

    by K.leblanc on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I was a little cautious thinking that after all these years they may not be as rockin as they use to be. I feel they have been portrayed that way. I was so wrong. They were incredible. The crowd was alive and having a fantastic time. My husband and I were very impressed. So glad we went. The cn tower in the distant, there was a drone show over the CNE and an awesome concert. Great experience! My 15 year old self would be so jealous.

    Just ok

by Hez on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

They sounded ok but the show and subsequently the crowd had zero energy. I love the smashing pumpkins but wouldn’t ever see them live again.

    Was not the greatest

by Lizzy on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Well had to pay for a bag check when other people had bigger bags with them. The opening acts not great and the pumpkins not great. But the venue is my favorite so one bad time doesn’t count for all the good times.

HEAVY LOUD DRONING THEN CLASSIC SP

by Spanky on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

As an older fan of their earlier material I admit I wasn't that familiar with much of their later stuff despite having seen them a few years earlier at the same venue. The initial 2/3 (guesstimate) of the concert was a very loud droning heavy electronic sound where some of the songs were pretty much indistinguishable from the others. The last 3rd (guesstimate) was mostly classics. Really enjoyed the Rival sons despite not ever hearing any of their songs before. classic rock played well, not too loud, liked them better than the pumpkins especially since I didn't have to listen to some 20 something girls that thought we wanted to hear their vocalizations insted of the band's.

    Decent

by Grynning on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

SMASHING PUMPKINS WAS AMAZING! Sounded incredible live and had killer sound and lighting! Interpol wasn’t great.. could barely here vocals and overall pretty dull performance. Some of the staff was a little ignorant, I know not everyone is sunshine and rainbows but when I'm spending $35 on a drink I expect the bar tender to be more pleasant.

    Memorable concert!

by EBP on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I watched the Pumpkins for the first time. They're my favorite band and the show was amazing. They still got it, and the new songs are good. Overall, the show was 10/10.

    Great Playing, Terrible Sound

by Garry on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I’ve seen the Pumpkins many times so I’m familiar with how they usually sound, which is amazing, but this was by far the worst I’ve ever heard them sound. Like they didn’t do soundcheck. It got better after the first three tracks, but it never got great. The levels of everything were off and in the beginning it sounded like a speaker was blown or something.

    Still Bringing it!

by TCX on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Not surprised, but really impressed that SP brought the house down on Sat. They played 1:45 straight, and energy never wavered. We felt we need to stand the entire time out of sheer respect. Rival Sons and Interpol great opening as well. We’ll be back

The band is great, the venue not so much

by Winoman on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The Smashing Pumpkins were great. Too bad Budweiser stage has such horrible sound quality. My second show at this location and same disappointment. Some times there’s so much echo going on that you can’t even tell what the musicians are playing. I won’t be returning to this venue.

    Great show, with sound issues

by SteveR on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The opening acts sound was terrible. Balance was way off. No mid, all guitar. Smashing Pumpkins went on, and the sound was no better until the tech frantically fixed it by the second song. Fortunately the bands did great, but it was tough to appreciate Interpol with the terrible sound. Billy and team did amazing though.

Not what I was hoping for.

by mdibon on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I was a little disappointed. Granted the released an album recently. But when the tour is named. "The world is a vampire". And maybe I wanted to relive my youth. I was expecting much more from melancholy. Silly me

    Ouch.

by The truth on 2023-09-05Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Terrible live band. Do yourself a favor and don't see them. Billy Cotgan is a whiny loser.

    by Dee C on 2022-12-19

Sadly we missed Janes Addiction but we did enjoy Our Lady Peace . The show was great from start to finish. Every song they played was. A hit making this a very enjoyable show! The lights and background screen were pretty cool too! 5*****

Incredible concert! Loved every second of it, all three acts rocked!

    Was a pretty good show

by Mike on 2022-11-15Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Opener Poppy was not right fit IMO but she seemed to get the cheers from crowd there early to see Janes. Perry was sounding good when he talked but way too much reverb when singing, would have like a couple more songs as well. Troy killed it on guitar and sounded just like Dave during the solos, well done. Pumpkins are so tight but too much down time and banter between songs, but played the hits and we all had fun. 8.5/10

    A great experience!

by NolP Kelowna on 2022-11-15Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I really enjoyed this concert! From start to finish I had a fantastic time and even with some disrespectful other guests not clamming up and being too loud and too drunk! Was so visual and at a perfect volume level! Loved it!
