MJ+Maxwell+D'Angelo+Prince=The Weeknd Watch this show(period)
The Weeknd has evolved from being a mysterious face behind his music to a drugged out self obsessed personality. Although it has allowed him to create great music he is not really a good performer. He sang over top of a vocal track, and didn't really showcase his ability. He also only performed only for an hour and fifteen minutes including a one song encore. He entirely neglected his third (latest) mixtape from his performance. He barely had time to do two songs on his second mixtape. For a $60 concert I definitely expected more. The mysterious character that is the Weeknd, was only a selfish man that was more worried about taking an early plane ride to Vancouver (because Calgary clearly doesnt matter much) than giving a good performance.
I had heard from his first live USA show his singing wasn't great live, but I honestly thought it was better than the albums. Very good. His stage pressence was also very impressive.
His music can speak for itself but with the lights, the visuals and full band it all just added that much more. This guy can sing too! I swear he's the next Michael Jackson. Well worth any price. Can't wait to see him again.
The show I saw was great, meaning his vocals were better than expected and the visuals were pretty badass. However, the dj at the beginning (I use the term dj loosely) just stood behind a laptop and played the worst music (didn't mix the songs at all) for 45 minutes. Frustrating!
Drove from Winnipeg to Minneapolis to see the concert, and was completely worth the trip.
i fell inlove that night honestly, ive never been to a concert where the performer made me cry!! since friday the only thing in my mind is him day and night, hes all ive been listening to! so amazing live wow he made me wet im not even joking. he needs to come backkkkkkkkkk
I LOVE THE WEEKND so i was excited when it said there was a "concert" in hamilton. Very misleading, it wasnt a concert at all, he came 3 hours late, sat on stage and got high while we listening to some dj yell into a microphone. Basically drove 3 hours to get to Hamilton to watch a so called 'concert' and was so dissapointed, i think everyone who bought a ticket should get a refund
I think Abel is a talented artist and I was looking forward to seeing him perform in such an intimate setting. I was disappointed because the dj was on for 2 hours and then 20 mins later the Weeknd finally showed up. Only ONE hour later did he say bye and returned for my favorite song in his encore. I don't know if this was his decision or the venue's decision to play for half the time that the Dj did, but I felt personally offended. Other than that I liked the show because I really like his music. The bass was a little loud though. I hope he comes to montreal again after osheaga and doesn't make us wait ever again lol
If there is someone's music everyone should give a chance to, it's The Weeknd. (You can download his music for free on his official website.) He was incredibly generous with his time. I have rarely seen an artist sing so many songs during a concert. His voice was on point and the band playing with him complemented him perfectly. Definitely cannot wait to see him at Osheaga this summer!
Doors were scheduled to open at 1030pm, the weeknd didn't show up til 2am and then sat on stage with their friends and didnt perform in single song. I paid to see a show, drove to Hamilton for the event, and was scammed. Will never see them ever again.
Events page should have noted that it was NOT a concert. This should have clearly mentioned what this event was going to be. The description was very vague, and the performer only came for 45 minutes. Not worth what I paid for.
Horrible.. he came late.. smoked for half n hr on stage then left...
