About

Theory of a Deadman is the first Canadian rock band to sign with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger’s 604 Records. Since releasing their self-titled debut in 2002, Theory of a Deadman has blazed their own path with multiple-platinum albums in Canada, and 2008’s Scars & Souvenirs became one of their bestselling albums worldwide when it reached No. 26 on the Billboard 200 chart. Known for their rock anthems and introspective ballads, Theory of a Deadman have found success in Canada and abroad with chart-topping singles like “Bad Girlfriend,” “Rx (Medicate),” “Lowlife” and “History of Violence” — all of them topping Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. The Canadian rockers have toured worldwide with bands like Nickelback, Mötley Crüe, Bush, Shinedown and Skillet.

  • Theory of a Deadman was certainly Alive!!

by KleinCK on 2012-02-09Bronson Centre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

FINALLY! I had been waiting a long time to see Theory of a Deadman as previous shows had never worked out for me. I am extremely excited to say that the wait was worth it and that the band performed an AWESOME show!! Tyler's interaction with the crowd was great and the Bronson Centre was a good choice for an intimate venue. I can't wait to see Theory of a Deadman again and can only hope that they add the song In the Middle to their set list, after all it is my favorite TOAD song!! Also looking forward to the possibility of seeing them in LA at one of the local Rock Bars during one of my vacations there! Thanks for an awesome first time TOAD and keep the music coming!!!!!:)

The band which proceeded Theory was great musically but the lead singer sucked. Tyler Connolly of Theory was awesome but I think his voice was strained from the whole Canadian tour. Loved the event Would go again.

  • Was a great show

It was the first time I saw them..would definitely see them again...Tyler is so hott,!

  • somewhat disappointing..

by RockinGerry on 2012-02-09Bronson Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

I am a huge Theory of a Deadman fan. I have seen them 4 times in and around Ottawa. It seems that Tyler's voice was stressed from the tour which is understandable. The audio sound quality was terrible. The base levels were drowning out the guitar and vocal aspects of the songs. Even the background vocals seemed to have been overpowering compared to Tyler and guitars?? Maybe this was deliberate to put Tyler's voice into the background more?? I enjoyed the acoustic set especially because Tyler's voice could manage it. The acoustic set did not go with the crowd's expectations as a lot of crowd momentum was lost during that set. All said ... I still enjoyed the show and the small venue. Theory of a Deadman is a great band!!

  • Good show

    by stonecoldrocker41 on 2012-02-09Bronson Centre - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

Overall the show was very entertaining, noticed that Ty struggled a bit to hit the higher register but playing that many shows can wear on a performers voice. Lower register was the phenom, very relaxed and enjoyable show, hell i was on my feet as was the rest of the Bronson center for the entire performance. TOAD i would recommend seeing them without hesitation. Great music and super performers.

  • Theory of a Deadman were SUPER FANTASTIC

by Vect on 2012-02-09The Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show at The Sound Academy. Theory of a Deadman always deliver a great rock show, from start to finish and leave their fans wanting more!!!!!!!!! Stage props and lighting were bigger and better this tour. Tyler sounded amazing - loving the lower register of his voice. Nice to hear Dave, Dean and Joe with supporting vocals

  • Theory NEVER disappoints!!!

by ChrissyTheoryFan on 2012-02-08Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen this band five times now and they NEVER disappoint!! They sound better in person than they do on disc (YES, I mean that!) The charisma they have with the audience is not something that can be faked. They love their fans and they show it. Tyler's humour is always entertaining as well. These guys are so into giving their audience MORE than they paid for. I'll go to their next show and every one following as long as they're still playing! THEY'RE worth the price of the ticket and more!!

  • Enjoyed Seeing TOAD

by Anonymous on 2012-02-08Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

TOAD played a wide assortment of songs from their various albums. Great energy. Only dissappointment was they played for 1-1/2 hours including one encore ( I think they were anxious to get onto Toronto.) Maybe next time I will go to Toronto.

  • Awesome!

by sconnolly on 2012-02-07Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was great. Only a couple things to say. Backup singers were kinda off the whole time, but Tyler, the lead singer, was awesome. The mic for Tyler though was a little low, but prob not the bands fault. Other than that, the concert was great, the atmosphere was awesome. Would love to go again!

  • Great Show!!

by Johnnyq on 2012-02-07Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

Didnt realize they were that loud it was an awesome show.

  • by jlybne on 2012-02-07Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

As far as the show was concerned, there wasn't much to it. The theatre at Hamilton Place isn't conducive to pyrotechnics or a lot of acrobatic stunts - and even if it were I'm not sure this band is the type to put on that kind of show. So as far as what people were seeing from the band and how entertaining a show they put on... it wasn't so great. But as far as the music is concerned (which is really why you go to a concert - or at least for me anyway), they were great. They sounded great live and did chat up the audience a little bit and the front man has a pretty good sense of humor so that added to the concert's overall entertainment value. All in all, if you're a fan of their music, they're worth seeing live.

  • Theory was awesome!

Bleecker Ridge did a great show & Theory of a Deadman was absolutely GREAT!!!!!!

  • by Anonymous on 2012-02-07Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

Theory always puts on a killer show...why I love them, follow their tours, am part of the fan club and spend massive amounts of cash on tshirts, VIP etc. I must admit I was a tad disappointed with their addition of the song "cocaine". I really hope Theory is not going to become another wasted talent to drugs...it would break my heart to watch Tyler on the new season of celebrity rehab!

  • AWESOME

by Aoife on 2012-02-07Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Thoery of a deadman was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. They sound even more amazing in person.

  • by Head on 2012-02-07Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

The doors opened at 7pm. The opening act "Bleeker Ridge" didn't come on until 8:45pm. Theory of a Deadman didn't come on until 10:15pm. There was a lot of standing around waiting for nothing.

  • Bleeker ridge and theory were great

by Knnite on 2012-02-06Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

First trip to the Sound Academy- great venue, well run, security people were polite and helpful. I had a great time....the sound was great, the vantage point in the VIP balcony was awesome. Bleeker Ridge were great...the drummer and lead guitarist were superb. Theory were fantastic. Great night.

  • Theory of a Deadman sounds better outside

by Anonymous on 2012-02-06Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 3 out of 5

This was the second time I seen them, and their sound people did not seem to do as good a job inside as when I seen them outside. It was a much smaller venue, but some songs were right on and others were just not. All in all, I would see them again, maybe just not as small a venue.

  • Theory was fantastic!!

    by Fluffy2916 on 2012-02-06Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show. Opening band was better then I thought they would be. Only problem I had with the whole night was the late start. Other then that awesome!

  • Theory of a Deadman

by cynder on 2012-02-06Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show, I just wish they had played longer. Sound could have been better but I think it was more to do with the venue than their equipment.

  • by Vvanawhitee on 2012-02-06Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The only issue I had with this event was how long they all took to come on stage which is very rare since usually they're pretty fast.
