About

Thirty Seconds to Mars began as a musical outlet for brothers Jared and Shannon Leto in 1998, and the pair have remained the core of the experimental rock group throughout its existence. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2002 and broke onto the Billboard 200; it went on to sell over 2 million copies. Thirty Seconds to Mars experienced a jump for their 2005 follow-up A Beautiful Lie, which featured their first Hot 100 single “The Kill (Bury Me)” and first No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart in “From Yesterday.” The band supported the album with their first headlining tour in 2006. This Is War arrived in 2009, followed by the band’s Into the Wild world tour, which set a Guinness World Record for "longest concert tour by a rock band" between 2010 and 2011. The band’s subsequent two albums, 2013’s Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams and 2018’s America, both debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, while the latter hosted Thirty Seconds to Mars’ first No. 1 single on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, “Walk on Water.” In 2023, the band released their sixth album, It's the End of the World but It's a Beautiful Day.

30 Seconds to Mars was amazing!

    by SJL007 on 2018-06-09Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I have seen 30 Seconds to Mars now 5 times. Last year as an opening act once again and stated to my friends in attendance "how is this band still an opening act"? Well that is no longer the case and rightfully so!

by Dimitriap on 2018-06-09Budweiser Stage - Toronto

This is my third time seeing 30stm in concert... they were absolutely amazing !!!!! I always enjoy myself at their shows and look forward to them coming back. Jared is so full of energy, jumping around, gets everyone in the audience pumped up, even invites people on stage For the last song ( if you’re vip or have floor tickets) and Shannon is just so well on the drums. So much hard work goes into the performance

    The Jared Leto show

by lemons on 2018-06-09Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The sound quality was pretty good. Although Jared is very good at getting the audience to participate, he was stopping the songs too often, which sometimes killed the flow, and reduced how much music you actually heard. Also, the lighting wasn’t good. They didn’t start until 9:30pm, so it was very dark. The stage was really only lit from above on the main section. When he went onto the catwalk, you really only got residual lighting. The focus was really on Jared, not even Shannon, they never even acknowledged the guy who was playing in the place of Tomo (he was tucked away off Center stage) which I found odd.

    Feeling short changed

by Jennipoo on 2018-06-09Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I am huge 30 seconds fan Really looked forward to this concert since purchasing advanced sale tix But....... Once it became known that Tomo was not with the band on tour I kept wondering how a “rock” band was going to be a 2 man show. They should have had hired guitarists and played live instead of just Shannon on drums. Why doesn’t Jared play guitar anymore? It was like a sing along, not a rock concert, and I left feeling underwhelmed and wanting more Plus...... We paid a lot of money for our tix, and on day of concert they were essentially being given away, and all grass tix were converted to seats. But the crowd was awesome, the opening acts were great, enthusiastic groups who have unique sounds. 30 Seconds should have clarified the Tomo issue prior to going on tour, to be honest with their dedicated fans, and then did other arrangements to keep the show “live” instead of prerecorded. But Jared is still an entertainer!

Great show! 30 Seconds to Mars was amazing and Walk the Moon put on a great show as their opening band. Had our seats upgraded into the 200s which was also pretty awesome!

Best (and first) Mars concert ever!

    by JoyA08 on 2013-10-17Sound Academy - Toronto

I had never in my life went to a Mars concert until the one in the Sound Academy. It was an amazing experience because is not the same to seen them on your computer (I was present for the Mars 300 concert via VyRt) and live. The venue was okay, too far away and easy to get lost if you're using public transportation. Unfortunately Shannon was sick that day and he didn't used his full potential on the drums but I'm sure he's flawless. My only complain that they're suck on the new CDs material, I wanted to listen old songs from 'A Beautiful Lie' and '30 Seconds to Mars'.

30STM at the Hollywood Bowl ... UNBELIEVABLE!

by SimmySims on 2013-10-15Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Despite being sick, Jared Leto knocked it out of the bowl! The venue was awesome and Thirty Seconds To Mars were on their best form. It was plenty evident that it was as much of a treat for them to play there as it was for us to watch them there.

    Unforgettable show!

by wandaana on 2013-10-07Sound Academy - Toronto

As always, 30 Seconds to Mars put on a spectacular show - from giant balloons during This Is War, to confetti, and 50 people on stage for Up In The Air... the entire night was filled with so much fun and energy, it was crazy! My only complaint would be the people I was standing beside - they kept complaining throughout the entire show & hitting other people. Obviously, if you're in the pit, you're gonna get touched and squished and trampled on but I guess some people didn't know this and were shouting at everyone. This is not something the band could have prevented though, so it's all up to the people you end up beside. Definitely seeing MARS again as soon as they come back. They were so nice and intimate in their performance, casually telling jokes and interacting with the crowd. Jared and Tomo even did a CD signing after the show so it was really cool. I have a lot of respect for this band & am definitely supporting them 100%. Great show!

Thirty Seconds to Mars was awesome

    by TI80 on 2013-10-07Sound Academy - Toronto

I think the sounds was fine however it was really hard to see the band. I think in future I would pay for seat above instead regular floor seats.

30 Seconds To Mars met and exceeded expectations

by ShortConcertGoer on 2013-10-07Sound Academy - Toronto

First and foremost, the band as a whole was incredible. Jared was very interactive with the audience, which is huge. This band is great live! Downside, I really felt I had a hard time seeing the band, and I was on the floor and made it up to the front before the end. I'm on the shorter side (~5'4"), so even in second row I was completely blocked at times. I don't remember having this big of an issues seeing anywhere else. I've heard others complain about the visuals at the Sound Academy, but I don't know what to blame besides my shortness. There was a lot of smoke machine smoke, and the show was mostly back lit giving some silhouettes, so that didn't help, but there were a number of times when I didn't know where the lead singer Jared Leto was on the stage, only to find he was just meters away from me. So I felt like I was struggling more than I would have liked to keep visual on what was happening on the stage. I'm fairly certain the fans were crazier here than at the NIN concert the next night (which I observed from a seat). But, aside from visibility issues, the band was spot on, Jared was his dreamy self, worthy of his followers, and the level of interaction with the crowd was more than average for all the concerts I've seen. Plus there was some acoustic performances too, which is good but I would have like to see Hurricane played in its full glory. This was my first 30 Seconds to Mars concert. I would definitely see them again if I got the chance! The opening band was good too. I had no idea who they were (New Politics) until l recognized one of the last songs they played from the radio. Also great interaction with the audience. Note, my camera seems to be on it's last breath, so even though it's survived many general admission/front floor concerts with success, 100% of these ones were terrible. Attached pics to give general idea only. The 5 stars I rated this is purely for the band's performance. The location kinda sucked.
