Tony Bennett Was great... He can still put on a good show
Tony Bennett in real life what a treat. We took our moms up there to see him and they were both surprised and excited and happy to see him. With exception to a brutal drive from Oakville all the way up to Orillia fighting traffic and then having a car breakdown we did make the concert but had to skip supper which had us all stressed and disappointed but after sitting down to listen to Tony Bennett the Music soothed us into a pleasurable experience of Tony's voice, the bands amazing ensemble and sounds and Although the concert seem to be very short for the amount of time it took us to get up there it was thoroughly enjoyable. Tony you are an amazing fellow and to see you out touring around the country playing live shows at your age shows amazing vivacity and love for what you do and we love what you do and your band is amazing!!! And we love seeing how you appreciate your band as well. Overall this concert was a lovely experience.
Not bad for a man of 90, but his voice just isn't what it used to be. Nonetheless, it was still an enjoyable concert. Also, I'm sorry to say that the audio mixer did not do justice to the drummer -- I could only hear him during his solos.
How can this cat mesmerize so many. He is the coolest guy you've ever seen. The great repertoire is only out done by his bright eyes and smile and his voice is as good as it's ever been. Never a stumble nor does he hesitate to take that high note or hang on another bar. Bravo Tonino, Bravo.
Enjoyed the concert because of Bennett and the repertoire he presented. I was disappointed in the quality of the vocals, his and his daughters' sounded a little hollow. The instruments were OK. Also found certain areas of the stage hard to look at because of the glare from the lighting.
Entertainers were excellent....not so much for the sound system. We were sitting just to the left of stage Center I have been in radio broadcasting for over 55 years Tony's daughter's sound had crackles and was very narrow in bandwidth. Overall the sound system favoured the left side facing the performance...not much from the right. I cupped my right ear, level on the right was much lower. Tony's audio was expected to be round and full of rich sound, it was very narrow.. where was the sound check. Out first visit to your outstanding building and hotel
THE TONY BENNETT SHOW WAS OUTSTANDING, HE WAS AS GOOD AS IT GETS. WE WERE REALLY HAPPY THAT WE WENT TO THE SHOW.
He still has a fantastic voice at age 88. He sang the songs you wanted to hear. I could have listened to more. The concert was about 1.5 hrs in length.
Tony Bennett is a Legend and his band and daughter performance was incredible. That was the first and will be the last time I go to Casino Rama for any kind of entertainment. Herds of people left throughout the concert and it was very distracting. I beleive that because Casino Rama fives away free concert ticket to the highrollers/club the people that attended did'nt really want to be there.
My mother (92 yrs. young) and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. My Mom saw Tony last time he was at Casino Rama but this was the first time for me. While my Mom's vision is now impaired, Tony's velvet tones came through loud and clear taking her down memory lane. I was expecting Tony's voice to be a little weak given the many wonderful years he has been entertaining. Needless to say, I couldn't be more wrong. Tony Bennett has still got it and he did not disappoint.
What a voice, the man can still sing and dance up a storm So glad I finally had a chance to see the living legend and last of the crooners. Hope he goes on for another 88 years
Concert was terrific. Tony Bennett's performance was more than expected. His daughter Antonia was just ok. Doesn't have much of a voice, unfortunately. The Casino needs more restaurant choices...disappointing.
At 88 Tony can still croon with the best of them! He sounds great and his band is extremely talented.
Great show by one of the best!! Still has great pipes and his timing is impeccable! Was also great to see a father and daughter duet.
Tony has been at the top of our all time favourite singer list for decades. His ageless energy and stylized phrasing has "set the bar" beyond reach. He is number one. Everyone else has to be a runner up.
Tony Bennett is 88and he is like the Energizer Bunny! He performed for about 1 1/2 hrs and was eager to continue. He sang nearly all the time and didn't sit down once. He can't hit some of the note he used to reach but he altered the presentation so it worked really well. He really belted out other notes and was fantastic at holding notes. He also has a great sense of humour. There must be 1,000 seats in the auditorium at Rama and I didn't see one empty seat. He received many standing ovations. Tony appeared gracious to his audience and to his accompanying musicians and of course his daughter. Bravo Mr. Bennett!
It was truly an unbelievable experience to see Tony Bennett. He hit all the right notes and made you forget that he wasn't quite as young as he used to be. He proves the point that you are only as old as you feel. He was like the energizer bunny - he kept going and going and going. Brought the audience to its feet. Plus his band was amazing. Would go to see him again.
Had been looking forward to attending this show to see Tony, and wasn't disappointed at all. Quite the entertainer still. Very obvious the respect father and daughter have for each other.
I was so glad to be able to see Tony Bennett in a live show. He is an amazing singer and I love the type of songs he sings. Very romantic!
I purchased the tickets for my husband for our anniversary as Tony Bennett was an Idol of his. I am not a fan at all but purchased and went with my husband to the show which was an hour and a half drive from home. His daughter opened and nither of us cared for her then finally Tony came out. He seemed to expect a standing ovation just for coming out and when he started to sing I could see my husband shrink back in his seat. After about 4 or 5 partial songs my husband asked if we could leave. I was shocked as he idolized Tony Bennett. We left then while he was still on stage and his daughter just came back out with him. My husband said he didn't want that memory of his idol sounding so terrible and that's why he had to leave when we did. He felt very strongly that someone should have told Tony is was time to stop touring and I agree. It was a waste of our hard earned money and time.
