Toopy & Binoo Fun for the kids

by olisam on 2013-04-29Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Overall i would say the experience was pretty good. Our almost 2 year old had a great time and was very excited throughout most of show, dancing, singing and clapping. Most of the other kids in the audience were pretty well behaved as well, with the exception of a few screamers! I would generally say the show was just a bit too long and that they should get into it a bit faster, bring out the main characters sooner. It was a total of about 1.5 hours with a 15min intermission. We could have done without the intermission and had the show last a total of an hour. Our 2 year old got pretty restless about 10 mins after the intermission so we ended up leaving early.

Toopy & Binoo was very disappointing

by boysandgirls on 2013-04-29Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

My husband and I were so disappointed by this show. The first 10 minutes was an octopus singing and the rest of the show was not much better. We have been too several children's shows and this by far was very lacking. Had we known what the show was like we would have saved our money for a different show, ie. disney on ice or the backyardingans. the kids were less enthused about this show (6, 4, and 2yrs-old) than others that they have been too in the past which was such a shame as they all love Toopy and Binoo. Luckily we had a promo code and received a discount. This show was definitely not worth the money.

    The kids loved it!

by KidsLuvTandB on 2013-04-29Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The kids were thoroughly entertained and glued to their seats the entire time by the clear and easy-to-understand dialogue, musical numbers, colourful sets and many familiar characters from the cartoon series. The show is a bit short for adults but that's probably a good thing for restless kids.

    Toopy and binoo-never again

by Shanstar77 on 2013-04-29Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I thought it was boring, the songs were not up beat at all. Also it was the same show as last year. They couldn't come up with a new story? Glad I did not see it twice, my son went with his dad last year.

Cheap props and repetitive choriography, even though my child was focused, I was extremely bored and impatiently waited for the thing to be over. Also not worth the money. I would only go if every ticket was $15.00.

Toopee and Binoo fails to impress

by grannyj on 2013-04-29Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Too bad the sound people had their hearing aids turned off. Most of the show was hard to hear as the kids in the audience were loud. The children had fun anyway, but if they had been able to hear maybe they would have been a bit quieter . overall it was a big disappointment. The Sesame Street Live show was much better. I wouldn't take m grandchildren to this again.

    Would go Again!

by Shutterfly on 2012-10-27Pantages Playhouse - Winnipeg, Mb

Venue: Pantages Playhouse in Wpg is a historical bldg therefore no food or drink in seating area. Was very warm before the show and during the intermission (kids cranky, hot and flushed cheeks everywhere) Merchandise: If you go to last show be prepared for items to be sold out. No small or med t-shirts left. Toopy& Binoo $35, Patchy Patch $35, wands $10 Show: Awesome, entertaining, costumes make them look very similar to tv. Lots of singing and audience welcome to join in. Show started ontime and continued n for about 40 mins then intermission. Another 40 mins or so after that. Perfect length.

    Toopy & Binoo

by GrlPwr on 2012-10-23Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

The show was good. But the break was way too long. It was 25 minutes long. The kids lost their attention for the second half. It should only be a maximum of 15 minutes. Otherwise we enjoyed it. Also the souvenirs could be a bit cheaper too.

My daughter loved Toopy & Binoo!!

by Patricia17 on 2012-10-23Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

I didn't give it 5 because it was too short and the stuffed characters were too expensive(but she still got one of each and she sleeps with her Patchy Patch now) but my daughter loved it. And I loved watching her, so it was a great show. It was fun and cheery, they sang and danced to good songs and interacted with the crowd pretty well. I wish I hadn't forgot my camera at home though.

    Could have been better

by Marny54 on 2012-10-23Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

The kids loved the characters but the story line was lame and the kids lost interest before it was half over. The story would work fine in a 10 minute segment of Treehouse but and hour and a half was stretching it too far. If there had been some real drama and suspense about the outcome it would have been fine but as it was....finding a song?? What about a bad guy trying to steal a song? Or a good guy rescuing Toopy or Binoo...there was no meaning to the show. No teachable moments. No life lessons, no good over evil, no character development or life lessons drawn. Disappointing and empty. Inspite of that, to see Toopy and Binoo 'for real' was exciting for our 6 & 4 year old grandkids. After the show we asked them if they liked it . They said yes with little excitement in their eyes or voices. As opposed to the Disney Princesses we took them to see last winter, when their eyes were dancing and they were talking all the way home and they acted like princesses for weeks. But then there were princesses to rescue, love stories and evil witches and good fairies...the stuff of life!

Worst child entertainment event I've ever seen!

by Jess3377 on 2012-10-23Pantages Playhouse Theatre - Winnipeg

We have been to many children's concerts and shows over the last five years, and this was by far the worst... The talent was subpar, the souvenirs were ridiculously priced(15$ more than other comparable events), really didn't enjoy it all... The kids did have a satisfactory time, but could had just as much fun watching the show at home...will not be buying tickets to Koba events in the future...
