Toronto FC History
Toronto FC played their first season in 2007 and became a perennial MLS Cup playoff contender after adding Italian soccer star Sebastian Giovinco in 2015. In his first year with the team, Giovinco became the first Toronto FC player to win MLS' Golden Boot, MVP and Newcomer of the Year awards, en route to the team's first-ever playoff berth. The team reached further success the following year by reaching the MLS Cup Final, then won the championship in 2017. That victory, coupled with their winning of the Canadian Championship and Supporters' Shield matches earlier in the year, made Toronto FC the first team in Major League Soccer history to complete the rare feat known as the domestic treble.
Toronto FC have been most dominant in the annual Canadian Championship, in which the club has taken home the Voyageurs Cup eight times, including in 2020. Individual player accolades include Rookie of the Year for midfielder Maurice Edu in 2007 and Most Valuable Player for attacking midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo in 2020.

Toronto FC at BMO Field
Toronto FC is the city's first Major League Soccer team and the first Canadian team in the league. When BMO Field, the team's home stadium, opened in 2007, it was already the largest soccer-specific stadium in Canada. The venue has since expanded to accommodate over 30,000 fans. The Eastern Conference team's most vocal and visible supporters club, the Red Patch Boys, started rallying online back in 2006 before the team had even played its first match.
Toronto FC’s 2024 regular season kicks off in February at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, when Toronto FC face off against FC Cincinnati. Toronto hosts their home opener against Charlotte FC on March 9. Toronto FC play their final match of the regular season at home against Eastern Conference opponents Inter Miami CF. Check out a winner and be close to the play Check out the TFC
all the moments at BOM are my favourite. before the game, the build up the fan area for the kids is not match with any ofter event i have gone to. in side there is somthing for everyone. not a bad seat in the house.
The supporters groups where very fun, upbeat and very energetic.
Toronto FC is blessed with the best crowd in MLS. I have been to many soccer games in my life including games i watched in major leagues in Europe and the crowd did not fall short of authentic hard core soccer atmosphere. Level of game play was very entertaining and the reds won!
It was a great atmosphere and a wonderful place to watch a soccer game.
We were at the very back of the stadium and still had an AMAZING view of the field! My parents were up visiting and this game was the icing on the cake for their visit to toronto.
This was our first trip to see Toronto and we were not disappointed. Very good atmosphere and a decent match.
Great to see Canadian teams face each other each year. BMO might be best sports venue in T.O., when you consider atmosphere, calibre of play and value. Front row seats for $75! Right on!
My husband & grandson went to the game and they said it was FAB, sad no Beckham we kept hoping he might appear by some chance. Would for sure buy more like Real Madrid.
I attended this game and must say I will attend more in the future. The place was packed, fans jumping and cheering, singing and laughing. Oh, and there was a soccer game going on as well. For those of you that have never been to a TFC game it is unlike any other live sporting event in Canada. I had the luxury of sitting at mid-field which not only provided a great view for the game but also an opportunity to see some of the wildest fans outside of Europe. Unlike many other venues, TFC's supporter sections including the North End Elite and Red Patch Boys provide fans an opportunity to be loud and proud of their team. So come on down to BMO Field and experience it for yourself, that is if you can find tickets lol.
The venue is great. Not a bad seat in the house. The level of sport is improving all the time. Wonderful athletisism. The fans give great support and add to the enjoyment of the entire event. The bad news? The guy who served me beer in the stands? Terrible. The cost of a can of beer is already 10 bucks...ouch. Then, he pours part of it on the ground so he can get it in the small cup!!!! Would it have been too much to ask to wait a few seconds for the foam to subside or simply to not turn the entire can upside down to begin with? Disgraceful. Some training of the servers is definitely in order.
SItting in the Supporter's Section is an experience like no other. The fans are rabid, and the atmosphere is amazing. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys a great time.
Nothing exciting... just another game played by the bloodless Toronto FC...
Great game, great ambiance. At least Toronto can beat Montreal in 1 sport...
TFC games are one of the best Toronto sports experiences around. The crowd is knowlegable, and enthusiastic. The stadium has wonderful sightlines and the concessions are terrific. A great experience (even with a loss)!
Time to rip up the fake turf and put real grass in - unpredictable bounce does not make for a good game.
TFC games are amazing. They have something to offer for everyone - soccer fans, families, drinkers...it's great! The stadium is handy to get there by either public transportation or by cars. The view of the city on the west side of the stadium is stunning. The food and the beers are reasonably priced. Best sporting entertainment in the city!
