Why so very few Canadian films ?
par Linda Lamborghini le 2022-09-16TIFF Bell Lightbox Cinema 2 - TorontoNote : 4 sur 5We saw a brilliant film .. with the creators, and it was a 100% fabulous experiene: BUFFY SAINTE MARIES CARRY IT ON DOC. She gave a chat back after the film showing and was as engaging and interesting as her film. The producers and about 50 of the people who worked on the film were there, and what a great gang! Bravo ! A great experience all around. Par contre, we also saw a disasterous first film which was a textbook example of what not to do: Put the camera on yourself singing for an hour. So excrutiatingly boring for the entire audience. What an egocentric twit! I think this would be a fun night out in a club with this group onstage, but it was not Film, not cinema in the slightest, and we RAN from the cinema AS SOON AS the first credit appeared.Ever Deadly lived up to its title. Most of the other films we saw started brilliantly, like ASHKAL (beautifully shot) and RICEBOY SLEEPS , but seemed to lose momentum and or clarity in the later stages of the film. (I wondered if the programmers even watched these films to the end ! ). But both were well worth seeing in any case,
