Toronto Maple Leafs History

The Toronto Maple Leafs have 13 Stanley Cup Championships and six division championships, with more than 60 former players, coaches and executives in the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Maple Leafs were one of the NHL's founding teams in 1917. They originally were known as the Arenas and then the St. Patricks before taking their current name in 1927 after Conn Smythe bought the franchise.

The team won two Stanley Cup Championships in the NHL's first five years and returned to the finals in 1932 behind the "Kid Line" of eventual Hall of Famers Charlie Conacher, Joe Primeau, and Busher Jackson. In 1942, they defeated the Detroit Red Wings in seven games to win the first of five Stanley Cup Championships under coach Hap Day. The addition the following year of center Ted Kennedy helped the Leafs maintain their dominance, and resulted in another title in 1951.

The Leafs won three Stanley Cup Championships in a row starting in 1962, and another in the 1966-1967 season, thanks to a roster brimming with players who would end up in the Hall of Fame: George Armstrong, Johnny Bower, Red Kelly, Dave Keon, Tim Horton, Allan Stanley, Bob Pulford, and Frank Mahovlich.

The team returned to the conference finals in 1992-1993 and 1993-1994, then again in 1998-1999 — the latter trip powered by eventual franchise scoring leader Mats Sundin. The Toronto Maple Leafs have made the Playoffs a total of 72 times to date.

    Fantastic Box Experience

by Danny on 2023-11-03Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

My first experience watching a hockey game in a box seat. These seats are not usually available to the public, but for this game they were and it was amazing! These seats should be made available to the public more often for purchase.

    Fun time!!

by JK on 2023-10-19Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Building is easy to get to and walk around in. We were allowed to watch warmup in the 100 level seats even though ours were not in that section. View from our seats were blocked a bit. Based on the 360 view on ticket master they didnt look like they would be but were. Couldnt see 1/4 of the far end of the rink. Dissappinting they even built the arena with those types of seats, as officially they are for wheel chair viewers

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

by Sports Fan on 2023-10-19Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

A competitive game, good atmosphere, Decent seats. However Very very expensive seats that the average joe could not afford even with all the perks that’s included in sitting in that section of the arena.

Third Exhibition Home Game is the Charm!

by DebORRah on 2023-10-08Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The temperature was above freezing for this game which made it a much more enjoyable experience. Robert was assigned to Section 119. He lied about the possibility of access to the Lounge in order to get access to information on my phone. He wouldn’t let anybody go to the glass to take photos. However when three giggly women in their 20’s came down the stairs, not only did he let them go to the glass, he actually took photos for them.

    Glad and sad

by Kimbo on 2023-10-08Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Super glad to see the Leafs and playing an original 6 to boot. And seeing preseason layer on the schedule gives the regular season vibe. And there comes the sad. I loved our seats but we can’t afford them even for one game regular season. The Hot Stove Carve prime rib sandwich worth every penny. The truffle grill cheese sucked Game vibe great met the blue crew on the elevator Cold to almost rude enhancement by the hype guy the leafs have in game. Sad

    LEAFS NATION ROCKS

by SENEGAL on 2023-10-08Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

It was awesome to see the Leafs in person, leafability. Great to see Carlson and Austin, Mitch and Will on the ice. It is not nearly as great watching Leafs on tv, you have to see them in person! Too bad they don’t play in Niagara as the Toronto drive is long but didn’t take away the first time experience at the game. GO LEAFS GO!

    Chaos in section 121

by Mont on 2023-10-08Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Absolute chaos during pregame. Ushers kept telling people to stand in MY seats so they can see players up close and I had to keep fighting off dozens of people as my family was out buying merch and would be there any second now. Then when my family was there the ushers questioned ME if I was in the right section instead of the obvious group of 6 kids unaccompanied by any parents when 2 other ticket holders arrived for seats 6 and 7. For context I had 1-5. You Know how this could be avoided? Don't tell people who didn't pay for these seats to use these seats. So insulting to be asked if I had the right seats after fighting off dozens of people who were told to stand in my seats. They paid for further seats they can stand there. Get out of my paid seats and don't question me and not the group of kids you told to stand there. Brutal crowd control Scotiabank Arena.

    Amazing experience!

by Lyn on 2023-10-08Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

First time watching an ice hockey game, I would definitely go back again. Tickets were booked easily. Entering the Scotiabank Arena was quick and easy. A but confused how to get to our seats but staff were helpful. Make sure not to bring any food/ drink as security will be taking it. The whole experience was amazing, even with seats on the upper area.
