  • First Live Curling Event

by Gern on 2024-02-21Rating: 5 out of 5

The facility is modern and clean with great views from almost any seat. Sound system / acoustics are quite poor, however this is not critical for curling. Found it hard to multi-task and follow 4 sheets of ice (regular, experienced curling fans nod and smile here, and btw, thanks to my neighbour for helping me understand what was happening on the ice). Large tv screens at each end were also helpful. What an excellent way to see live curling at this high level!

  • Scotties

by Tim on 2024-02-21WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Wonderful facility. No wifi in this day and age. I don’t understand that. Spotty network service.

  • I did not hate it

by Ron on 2024-02-21WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing event. Great volunteers. Excellent crowd. The players first place prize should be 150,000....

  • Horrible parking

by Scott on 2024-02-21WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

The curling was terrific, enjoyed it thoroughly. Event parking however was disgraceful. WinSport needs to pave the overflow parking and they had one floodlight for the entire parking lot for the evening draw. I couldn’t see and twisted my ankle stepping into a hole, not to mention soaking my shoes walking through puddles.

  • Scotties

Excellent venue. Nice crowds. Reasonable cost per tickets. Easy access, good parking. Brier Patch is excellent!!!!

  • Wonderful Venue

by NorthGuy on 2024-02-21WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Winsport in Calgary is an excellent venue for watching curling in and this is just a beautiful facility, Calgary should be proud. Curling Canada really does a nice job here. I even enjoyed going to the "Patch", mostly. It is nicely set up for the patrons to go to between draws, to have a bite to eat, or a drink, buy some souvenirs or watch some entertainment. However, besides being horribly expensive, they will not let you use that legal tender, cash! I find this to be wrong on so many levels as I believe that cash should be allowed whenever we wish to use it and not to be forced to use our debit or credit cards which only helps out the banks. Because of this and the expensive cost for food and drinks, I would have rated this a 5 star.

  • Good but no good

by PMP on 2024-02-21WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

Ticket access was easy however internet access in the building made it difficult.

  • Great Curling Event

by Falling Fast on 2024-02-21WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

The Venue at Winsport was fantastic. We had a great view of the four sheets, and the games provided great entertainment. The price also was reasonable for this type of event. We really enjoyed the game.

  • Good

by Charlene on 2024-02-20WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The facility was great - other than the seats being too close together - hard to move your legs. you could see the ice and all games really well from any seat. The facility could have used more signage to help viewers find the facility and where everything was inside.

  • The sport of Curling

by FISHERWOMAN on 2024-02-20WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

A pleasure to watch the Canadian Women Athletes. An opportunity to meet some of their parents as well as partners and their children. The politeness of the attendees. Attended 5 Draws - GREAT!

Seeing the top women curlers in Canada is exciting....trying to pick up on strategy keeps things interesting.

  • 2024 Scotties Tournament of Hearts

by Brian on 2024-02-20WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

It was great to witness the Draw 2 live event on Saturday, 17 September at WinSport in Calgary. Excellent seating, Section V, Row 10, seats 6 - 10

  • Great curling. And for a great cause. Sandra Schmirler

by Bddo on 2024-02-20WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Great memories of great curling. And very impressed with all the donation received for the Sandra Schmirler Foundation. Curling was beyond great and at the same time helping all the babies born too soon.

  • Jumbo Tron

by Joey on 2024-02-20WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

There was camera scaffolding which cut the jumbo tron exactly in half, from where we were sitting (section R). Also expected more large screens around the arena. Will watch most of the game tomorrow from the Lounge!

  • Great curling - parking not so much

by Robert on 2024-02-20WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The curling itself was great. My only complaint was with the parking at the venue. I was with my elderly mother who needed to be dropped off at the front door. It was very difficult to do this both arriving and leaving. The people directing the traffic would not allow people to turn into the drop off area to drop off or pick up. They need to improve the parking system. There was also no signage to indicate a way to even get to the drop off area

  • Long Love for curling

by Jenny on 2024-02-20WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Attended opening weekend of Scotties. Great to watch live. Better than TV as able to watch the teams that never get on TV.

  • Awesome

by Beach on 2024-02-20WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

WOW 😲 Just amazing My first time event and it is just awesome The lady curlers are just super to watch and if anything what I see is how everyone gets along. One thing I seen is to play the game not to Win or Lose but to have fun

  • Great event horrible venue!

by Blaine on 2024-02-20WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

Concession and food is poor at best, the seats are the most uncomfortable arena seats I’ve experienced. A wooden bench would be better.

  • Event Great, Parking a joke

by michsteve on 2024-02-19WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

The curling is amazing, seeing these very talented women was a pleasure. The venue is very good except for the sound, could not understand a word the announcers were saying. The parking was $10 with no in and out allowed so basically unless you wanted to spend $10 over and over to park you were stuck in the venue. This basically penalized the people who booked full day packages. So we were stuck there from 8 in the morning to 9 at night.

  • Scotties Tournament opening weekend

by Kathy on 2024-02-19WinSport Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

The curling was fantastic. All teams were fully engaged and performed really well. No disappointments at all in that regard. Parking was great, despite the website indicating that cash was not a payment option when in fact, it was. Thankfully the attendant was amazing and I was not turned away from parking. The line-ups for food and drink were disappointing. Especially on Sunday morning when only one window of one concession was open. Both Saturday and Sunday mornings, one concession was not opened. And on Sunday, only 1 window of the second concession was open. Not having enough staff to serve the number of customers the venue had, is very poor management. That said - the staff that was working were amazing, friendly and fun. The Scotties were fun, Winsport - not so much.
