About
Travis Scott In Concert
Few rappers have entered the game with as much fire and force as Travis Scott. Born in Houston, Texas, in 1992, Scott grew up in the suburbs, quickly finding a community of like-minded musicians. At 16, he started producing music and formed a collaborative with his friends called The Classmates; he later moved to New York, briefly, and then Los Angeles, where he met rapper T.I., who was impressed with his work. Scott signed to both Epic Records and Kanye West's label GOOD Music in 2012, releasing his excellent first mixtape Owl Pharaoh' the following year, which featured work by T.I., Kanye West, Toro y Moi, A$AP Ferg, and more. Shortly after, he was prominently featured in Kanye's Yeezus.' By the end of 2013, Scott had been featured in the XXL's "Freshman Class of 2013," cementing his status as one of rap's most exciting and hard-hitting new voices. 2014 brought his second mixtape, Days Before Rodeo,' whose list of personnel reads like a list of rap royalty: Young Thug, Big Sean, Migos, T.I., and more. Scott's highly anticipated first official studio LP dropped in 2015, debuting at No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It also went platinum. In 2018, Scott released Astroworld,' which debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200.
Travis Scott's music has taken him on a number of highly regarded and explosive tours. As a headliner, his Rodeo Tour with Young Thug and Metro Boomin has been considered one of rap's wildest tours, while his Astroworld: Wish You Were Here tour took him around the U.S. with Trippie Redd and others. As a supporting act, Scott has toured with some of music's greats, including The Weeknd, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Juicy J, and Project Pat.
