Travis still know how to put on a good show!

by Travisisback on 2013-10-01Sound Academy - Toronto

Took my boyfriend for a surprise birthday concert to Travis, and it was great! They were such entertaining and engaging performers, and they sounded great live. Fran (lead singer) did a great job connecting with the audience. Opening act - Rathburn/Rathbourne (?) - not great. They didn't engage the crowd at all, and a lot of the singing sounded off-key. And there was a lot of waiting around between the opening act and the main event. But they were so good once they came on the wait was forgotten. Great venue, love Sound Academy!

I see Travis every time they come to Toronto and they just get better and better!!! I hope they come back more often because 5 or 6 years between shows is just too long!!

    Travis did not disappoint!

They were just as great live as on any recording. Fran had charm, wonderful stage presence and you could tell still loved to perform every song. It wasn't an egofest, but pure, talented musicianship. The band was clearly tight-knit as was demonstrated in their performance of Flowers in the Window when they all came centre stage and performed standing clumped together. When Fran noticed the 8-year old down front with her dad, and he insisted that they get her the same war plugs the band had to protect her ears during the concert, and THEN dedicated the next song to her, my respect and love for the band the skyrocketed. They were tight sounding and wanted the crowd to have just as much fun as they were. Great show. I just regret it took me so long to see them.
