WICKED is a Tony-winning sensation that has been defying gravity and delighting Broadway audiences since 2003. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the fantastical prequel to The Wizard of Oz was nominated for 10 Tony Awards after it opened at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City, and won three, including Best Actress for Idina Menzel, who played the original Elphaba. The musical’s first national tour opened in 2005 and ever since, WICKED’s touring production has criss-crossed North America offering theatergoers one short day in the Emerald City filled with magic, music and the ”untold true story of the Witches of Oz.” The second national tour — known as the “Munchkinland Tour” — has been an open-ended production since 2009 and now stars Olivia Valli as Elphaba and Celia Hottenstein as Glinda.

This is an amazing production! The story is entertaining and was a trhill to see. This is a must see!
I am not usually a fan of big musicals, preferring my theatre experience to be a bit more 'verite'. But as a lifelong fan of 'that other story from Oz', I couldn't resist reading Wicked when it was first published and wanted to see the play as soon as I heard about it, (although I had to wait quite awhile before it came to my part of the country). I loved the book, but am happy to report that the play is BETTER THAN THE BOOK! Through the necessary shorthand of live theatre, the dreary middle section of the book is eliminated and replaced with a crisp narrative, spectacular visual effects and songs that are alternately witty and moving. The singing is uniformly good, but the leads are really standouts. Chandra Lee Schwartz, as Glinda, nimbly handles bouncy and humourous numbers like 'Popular' and breaks our hearts in more moving songs like 'For Good'. Donna Vivino as Elphaba is flat-out spectacular with soaring vocals that rival the like of Celine and Whitney for clarity, richness and range. I don't know why we have not heard more about this immensely talented singer and actress. She is 'wicked'.
It was "WICKED"! Worth the money and the distance travelled to see it. I just wish that since I was comiong from Vancouver, I could have been placed a few rows ahead. I was sadly in the second-last row and I had bought the tickets as soon as it was advertized so I don't know why they placed me all the way back there. From the music, the acting, the singing: it was all first-class. And the audience was so engaged.
Thouroughly enjoyed the show and the venue. Was our first time there. Did find the music a tad overpowering (hard to hear the lyrics at times)....especially for the opening number. Was a bit dissapointed with the number of people texting during the show.....had to tell people on either side of us to put away their phones....the glare was distracting.
My wife now considers this the finest musical she has seen and she has seen several GREAT ones! Spectacular in ALL respects .... emotional performances from the players .... amazingly staged ... an absolute theatrical treat!
I've had the opportunity of seeing Wicked in London, England and now in Seattle. The show is amazing - the story, singing and costumes were fantastic. I would see it "again" if the opportunity arises.
The Seattle WICKED was my third visit with this fantastic production. Happily I was able to go with three friends who had never seen it before but had listened to me 'rant' about it for over a year! They were blown away and so was I. The cast was superb! Dance numbers were tight and well executed; singing was amazing and lighting and sound were "bang-on!" Can't wait until my fourth experience with this outstanding musical!!
I am not a musical kinda guy, but this was brilliant!! The writer took an American classic and twisted it SO much, you gotta stop and think! LOVED IT!
wonderful show the cast was excellent our seats were great, and the ticket agency that we booked through were very helpful
I loved the musical Wicked! It did not dissappoint and was worth the drive from Vancouver. Would love to go again. Great production in every sense!
Just saw Wicked on Broadway in Aug - saw that it was coming to Seattle - had to see again. Cast was great, each performance outstanding. Also never have been to the Paramount Theartre - it was beautiful and easy to get to from Vancouver BC Everyone should see this feel good musical.
The Paramount Theater in Seattle is a perfect venue for the amazing show "Wicked". The two lead actors Chandra Lee Schwartz and Donna Vivino were outstanding! They had the sold out audience totally mesmerized from beginning to end. If you loved the original "Wizard of Oz", "Wicked" is a must see show.
My Daughter and I saw Wicked in New York 3 Years ago and felt that it was the best Musical ever. Last night the performance in Seattle surpassed the memory. The humor was spot on and the voices well surpassed any memory of the past. I will probably make time to see the performance again before it leaves Seattle. Good Job! Great Performance!
The play "Wicked" was great!! It was neat to see the Wicked Witch's life story and how she came to be wicked. I also liked the way the play tied itself to "The Wizard of Oz", a movie and book that is loved for so long by so many! I would definately recommend this play to anyone!! Patty Duke was great!!
The play was amazing from the moment it started. The sets, the acting, the costumes, the lighting, the ambience...It was a truly memorable experience. Well done to everyone involved. I would recommend this event to anyone visiting San Francisco. It was a definite highlight of our trip.
MICROPHONE ISSUES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SHOW. SOUND ISSUES THROUGHOUT.
Best musical I have ever seen. Would recommend for any age...the songs and music are great, the cast was tremendous!!! The Orpheum Theatre is a work of art in itself, the seats could be a little more comfortable though...will call was a breeze, not one problem. The staff at the theatre were wonderful as well.
Went to see Wicked on weekend in San Francisco and was totally blown away. Even though the under studies were used for some of the actors the show was amazing. Would love to see it again real real soon. Had the best seats and saw everything close up. Pay a little more for better seats and enjoy it the more.
Having bought tickets with absolutely no expectations or previous knowledge of what Wicked was about, except it was based on the Wizard of Oz, we were totally and thoroughly entertained. I loved the humour, the twists and the energy of Wicked. It was one of the highlights of our trip and an excellent way to spend three hours
The cast was incredible. They were fantastic actors and singers. The songs themselves were well written. A lot of tasteful humour was in both the songs and the script. I appreciated the well done adaption from the book, and thought the production was a good representation of the novel. My husband, not having read the book, was pulled into the story and enjoyed it very much. The show flew by, and hardly seemed to last 3 hours because it was so engaging.
