Goo Goo Dolls, a band that rose from the punk scene in Buffalo, New York, penned several of the most definitive hits of the ’90s. Forming in 1985, the Goo Goo Dolls experimented with hard rock before landing on a winning formula that incorporated elements of acoustic and alternative rock for 1995’s A Boy Named Goo. The album yielded the band’s first Billboard 200 chart placement at No. 27 and its unlikely third single “Name” climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1998, the band vaulted to global ubiquity with “Iris,” a ballad written for the City of Angels soundtrack that later ushered in their quintuple-platinum sixth album Dizzy up the Girl. The song remained atop the former Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart for 18 weeks, a record that stood until 2020. The Goo Goo Dolls solidified their stratospheric success with the equally catchy follow-up single “Slide,” which hit No. 8 on the Hot 100 and was certified platinum itself. In 2002, Gutterflower earned the band their highest Billboard 200 peak at No. 4, while 2006’s Let Love In added more catalog highlights like “Better Days'' and a cover of Supertramp’s “Give a Little Bit.” Founding members Johnny Rzeznik and Robby Takac have toured extensively across the 2010s while maintaining a steady output of new projects, including 2019’s Miracle Pill and 2022’s self-produced Chaos in Bloom.

Being a long time Goo Goo Dolls fan, this was the first time I had ever seen them live. And the show was well worth going too. My boyfriend and I had a great time; the band was interactive with the audience, had a great set and the songs were very reminiscent. I have decided that if they ever come back to Edmonton, I would go again, and definitely bring more people with me.
I loved the show!! Great interaction with the public! The only comment I would have is that it would be a good idea to have a screen showing the show.. If people are sitting all the way to the back they can't see the bands' faces. .etc.
I've always Loved Goo Goo Dolls songs and seeing them Live was Awesome! Unfortunately the Lead singer was injured.
The concert was awesome even though John was injured>
It was a rocking, awesome, worthwhile event!!! I would definitely attend another concert by this band, they played their new and old songs.
The show was great! Was suprised not to see more people there.... Missed a great show!! Would go back and see them again for sure!!
Attended the Goo Goo Dolls show at Credit Union Center thankfully not a day later(hell froze over here in Saskatchewan)!!! The attendance for this show was mediocre being a bowl show which was a shame. This was a show that would have faired a lot better at TCU by far. Regardless, the shows intimate and scaled back appearance worked for the band. Lack of stage show was actually good because with this band it's all about the music and not theatrics. The band dug out the hits and seemed to win everyone over. Johnny smiled and seemed to be into the moment at times interacting with the crowd. Only disappointment was not hearing my fav Goo Goo Dolls song played "Not Broken".
This was quite possibly the worst concert experience I have ever had. TCU provided their regular standards of service (5 star) but the band performance was horrible, the sound was horrible, and all around bad experience.
To all you who sat the entire concert why even bother coming. You come to a concert for the joy of hearing a band live and for great entertainment. Many of you just sat there with arms across your chest. Show some enthusiasm get up and going dance sing along HAVE FUN!!
This was a great show! Ive never seen them before and it was a great show! So happy i went :) I recommend if you have never seen them before and want too.
Been waiting YEARS for them to come to Saskatchewan, almost flew to Winnipeg a few years ago, but timing wasn't right. They've been one of my top 5 favorite rock bands in the last 20 years, and the only disappointment with the show is that it didn't last longer!!! John Rzeznik's vocals were outstanding, his songwriting + lyrics profound & inspirational. His strength as a guitarist surprised me, an added bonus to an already great show! Really appreciated the smaller venue setup, more intimate & enjoyable. Concert was unforgettable & worth braving the cold for.
A very great live band. Very fun to watch, you can tell they really love what they do and are very talented on top of it. John Rzenick sounds amazing live, very talented singer and guitarist. And Robby Takac's vocals added a different sound to break it up. He's also a very talented bassist and you can tell how much fun he is having on stage. They played a nice selection of their biggest hits from the past, some more recent ones and quite a few off their new disc. A great set list.
Although the venue wasn't suitable for the act, having only sold out a minimal amount of seats and having no promotion for the opening act, the performance of the goo goo dolls delievered a show that was the same quality as you would get listening to your cd at home.
From the moment they took the stage, the Goo Goo Dolls rocked! Played non-stop and had the crowd involved from the first song. Their voices have stood the test of time, and sound exactly how I remember them from back in the 90s. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert!!
The sparse crowd did not take away from the passion in Reznzik's voice....not alot of passion in the crowd.
The concert was great! John has a wonderful voice and they play a great blend of old and new songs. It was a great, intimate venue for the concert.
The Goo Goo Dolls have a lot of great songs. They played all the ones I really like. The lead singer (Jason) has an amazing voice. They sound like they are playing in a studio because the sound was so clear.
The Goo Goo Dolls put on a great show. I got to see them live once before back in summer 2010 in Toronto and while that show was amazing, I think this one in Hamilton was even better! They are probably one of the most under rated bands around. Johnny is immensely talented both as a song writer and as a performer. Good mix of old and new songs. Liked how they dug back to 1993 to play a track off Superstar Car Wash. Definitely worth the price of admission!!
For being around for 18 years the Goo Goo Dolls haven't missed a beat! One of the best bands out there and between the new and old songs they didn't disappoint . I would recommend those who have not seen them live to go see them, worth the price of the ticket and more!!
