Goo Goo Dolls, a band that rose from the punk scene in Buffalo, New York, penned several of the most definitive hits of the ’90s. Forming in 1985, the Goo Goo Dolls experimented with hard rock before landing on a winning formula that incorporated elements of acoustic and alternative rock for 1995’s A Boy Named Goo. The album yielded the band’s first Billboard 200 chart placement at No. 27 and its unlikely third single “Name” climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1998, the band vaulted to global ubiquity with “Iris,” a ballad written for the City of Angels soundtrack that later ushered in their quintuple-platinum sixth album Dizzy up the Girl. The song remained atop the former Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart for 18 weeks, a record that stood until 2020. The Goo Goo Dolls solidified their stratospheric success with the equally catchy follow-up single “Slide,” which hit No. 8 on the Hot 100 and was certified platinum itself. In 2002, Gutterflower earned the band their highest Billboard 200 peak at No. 4, while 2006’s Let Love In added more catalog highlights like “Better Days'' and a cover of Supertramp’s “Give a Little Bit.” Founding members Johnny Rzeznik and Robby Takac have toured extensively across the 2010s while maintaining a steady output of new projects, including 2019’s Miracle Pill and 2022’s self-produced Chaos in Bloom.

Great performance even though Reznik is injured, the injury didn't affect his performance.. still awesome!!
This was the first time I got to see the Goo Goo Dolls, really enjoyed the concert & can't wait to go see them again.
I'll admit that I've been Goo fan forever, really like the overall bands sound. The performance was a about as nice and intimate a setting at the Hard Rock in Coquitlam as you can get. It isn't a really big venue, not a bad seat in the place. Considering John had a damaged foot he performed well and ignored it for the most part. I think maybe he could concentrate on his singing more as he sat for the entire show. Robby was as animated as ever, good job. The entire band did a great set. The music is really timeless and I am surprised how many people I told about it said "what songs do they play". Once they heard a few clips it was ,"oh I know that song, they do that?" The Goo Goo Dolls are must see in my opinion, keep going boys.
They were amazing, couldn't believe that I hadn't seen them already - would see them again in a heart beat. Sounded so good.
Great concerts in both Edmonton and Calgary. Although John hurt his foot and had to sit for the shows the energy was amazing, and the music beautiful, as always. The crowd was really getting into the music, which is always great to see, and the band responded by putting their all into each song. Only complaint is that it had to end.
Music was great. Audience seemed boring... nobody in the balconies was standing, and people were barely singing along or cheering... to the point that I actually felt bad tapping my foot because I thought the guy next to me was going to burn a hole through my head with his staring eyes.... like I said - Goo Goo Dolls were great, just the audience/venue wasn't so great.
This concert left me feeling like I didn't quite get my money's worth from the Goo Goo Dolls. Johnny had a sore foot, so he sat in a chair the whole time which was understandable. However he started losing his voice a bit, which I don't think anyone was too upset with, everyone kept cheering him on and stuff. But this seemed to really make up his mind that that that night just wasn't working for him I guess. His whole mood and the atmosphere of the concert was seriously lacking. Johnny really looked like he didn't want to be there, and even said: "Sorry guys, this isn't one of our best shows." They only played for a little over an hour (as long as the opening band), and didn't come back out for an encore. That being said, they did play most of their hits, but they definitely could've played more I felt. The whole concert just seemed like they came out just for the paycheck, like they weren't really feeling it. I've seen the Goo Goo Dolls once before on their "Something for the Rest of Us" tour, and they were MUCH better that time. I will say that as usual, Robby was super energetic and really into though! On a side note, Autumn's Cannon, the opening band, was fantastic. They really stole the show for me. Their performance is what made this concert not as disappointing! So hats off to them. I definitely suggest looking at their album!
This was my first time seeing the Goo goo dolls perform. I just recently descovered who they were more as a band this past year and a half and became to really love their music. When the opportunity came to see them in concert I just at the chance to see them cause I truly love this band that they have now become one of my favorite bands. I really enjoyed their concert they put on ana amazing show. I wish they had performed at rexall just think that thats a better venue but overall still good. Also their opening act Autumn Cannon I had no idea who they even were but after seeing them perform and listening to them I have yet discovered an new band that I like. I like when I go to concerts and yes some people may just say oh their just the opening act but I'm glad there is cause I always love to discover new music to add to my music collection. Overall I really enjoyed myself and had a great time at the concert and if the opportunity comes again where I get to see them again I'll be jumping on the opportunity to do so.
Took my 17 year old daughter to the show and we both thought it was superb! A no frills stage set-up for the band and a seemingly odd venue for the Goo Goo Dolls actually helped make this one of the more enjoyable concerts for me in recent memory. Johnny Rzeznik'svocals remain almost spiritual with his emotion, power and vulnerability coming though on every note. From his hurt foot stories to awesome comical interaction with the audience it was like sitting in on the Goo sessions as a private guest. Loved the show and I'd like to see the Jube host more rock shows like this.. not everybody's cup of tea but it worked on a cold night in E-town.. only down side was the parking escape from the Jube parking lot - what a disaster! They need security to guide this exit out of this labyrinth as it took an hour to even move an inch with everyone leaving at the same time..
Excellent show from the Goo Goo Dolls as always, love the humour that Johnny adds to the show too. Only downer was that Johnny had injured himself that day and had to sit the whole time. Seeing him sit to an up-tempo song just isn't right... understandable but still a downer.
I am so happy we got tickets to this show!! My boyfriend and I have wanted to see The Goo Goo Dolls for a really long time and now we can cross it off our bucket list. It was an absolutely awesome concert with nostalgic moments bringing me back to high school with some songs, funny moments getting the crowd going, and quiet moments when the acoustic guitar had its time to shine. It felt electric at some points when everyone was singing and the sound was so clear (always is at the Jubilee!). I'd recommend this event to anyone and would definitely go back to see them again!!!
They were awesome. They played all my favorites. Freaking fantastic!
The were amazing, I would absolutely go see them again!
Didn't know what to expect but the show was great. I think we were lucky that he hurt his foot and had to sit on a stool. Made it more like an unplugged show.
I was disappointed that the goo goo dolls only played for an hour and fifteen minutes. Otherwise, it was a great show.
One of my favourite bands and I am so happy I got to see them live. They are just as amazing in person as on their CD's. Great concert
The opening act was good. Got the crowd fired up for the Goo Goo Dolls! When the Goo Goo Dolls came on stage they were super! Came back for a encore and said why do,they leave the stage? To come back out. So true. Too bad it's been 3 years since they have been in Edmonton.
My seventh Goo Goo Dolls show and they still got it!!
They sounded awesome and there isn't a bad seat in the place, I love concerts at the jubilee!!
Such a great show. Sad that the main singer hurt his feet that morning so he sat the whole time but he was funny and super interactive then overall a very good live performer. Sounded just like his albums :)
