Goo Goo Dolls, a band that rose from the punk scene in Buffalo, New York, penned several of the most definitive hits of the ’90s. Forming in 1985, the Goo Goo Dolls experimented with hard rock before landing on a winning formula that incorporated elements of acoustic and alternative rock for 1995’s A Boy Named Goo. The album yielded the band’s first Billboard 200 chart placement at No. 27 and its unlikely third single “Name” climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1998, the band vaulted to global ubiquity with “Iris,” a ballad written for the City of Angels soundtrack that later ushered in their quintuple-platinum sixth album Dizzy up the Girl. The song remained atop the former Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart for 18 weeks, a record that stood until 2020. The Goo Goo Dolls solidified their stratospheric success with the equally catchy follow-up single “Slide,” which hit No. 8 on the Hot 100 and was certified platinum itself. In 2002, Gutterflower earned the band their highest Billboard 200 peak at No. 4, while 2006’s Let Love In added more catalog highlights like “Better Days'' and a cover of Supertramp’s “Give a Little Bit.” Founding members Johnny Rzeznik and Robby Takac have toured extensively across the 2010s while maintaining a steady output of new projects, including 2019’s Miracle Pill and 2022’s self-produced Chaos in Bloom.

Goo Goo Dolls put on an amazing show...love them!!
My daughter & I had an amazing night. Show was fantastic. Wish they played longer. We've been trying to get to their concert for few years. I liked the small venue concert! Had a sorw throat from screaming!
The Goo Goo Dolls were fantastic! They sounded amazing and were very interactive and funny. The setting was great too, it was a really nice and laid back atmosphere :)
3rd row seating, what can I say? Best concert ever! The Goo Goo Dolls play a great mix of old and new.... Sang along with every song. Johnny and Robbie are great! This was our 4th Goo Concert in the past 8 months! Can't wait to see them in Hamilton and Oshawa!!! I will forever be a fan!
Great Band, great opener (Ryan Star) & nice venue!
The Goo Goo Dolls were awesome! John's voice was perfect, They interact with the crowd, and they remember that their fans are the reason they are where they are. The more intimate venue of the Paramount was great. One of the best concerts I have ever attended!
Absoluteley, a fun up close personal venue. Great sound, high energetic show. I actually looked into seeing them in Seattle days later. Goo Goo Dolls Rock! Go see them.
Amazing, hopefully they come back and get a better venue
Exactly what i expected, great mix of songs. Rob could have sang more.
The Goo Goo Dolls were amazing to see live and the concert was great. It was nice to have a concert like this in a smaller venue compared to the big sports arena's. The venue felt very intimate and it was nice being able to see the perfomers faces. Seats were amazing. Had seats in the 11th row.
I was impressed by the opening act, local Winnipeg band Hope Atlantic. Their style of music complimented that of the Goo Goo Dolls perfectly. My only complaint was with the volume of some of the instruments... you couldn't hear the bass, rhythm guitar, or the lead vocals, because the keyboard was retardedly loud. It was really too bad, because (from what I could hear) the lead singer had an excellent voice. The Goo Goo Dolls did not disappoint. They played a great mix of all their most popular songs. John Rzeznik sounded "studio clean". Robby Takac sang a handful of songs, showing he can sing. Robby of course played in sock-feet while Johnny wore his trademark green cargo pants. All in all, it was a really clean show. Johnny told a couple stories... the acts never tell enough stories, but that's just my opinion. They played one long set followed by a short encore. They certainly did deliver! Hopefully they continue to make more of the same great music.
It was a great concert, they went over all their greatest hits. John has an amazing personality and made the public laugh and get involved at all times. They were just excellent!
Great selection of some of their new material as well as all their old hits. They sounded great.
Opening act of Steven Paige was terrific and he had a little fun with the audience which was fun. There was a half hour intermission . Great show. Sound was loud but not overbearing. Band played to the audience and came on and went right to song. Came out at end of show for an encore performance of two more songs - Yeah!!
There is no place in Ottawa like the NAC to see a concert! The sound is perfect; the seats are comfortable and well laid out for all to be able to see, short and tall! The Goo Goo Dolls were bang on that night! They sounded just like their original tracks! John was sick with a cold so he did struggle with his voice - which made me all the more grateful that they stuck through it and didn't cancel the show! I was extremely glad to be there - will definitely go see them every time they come! The opening act was a nice surprise, too! Steven Page has an amazing voice!
The Goo Goo Dolls are a must see band. Truly the best!
Awesoime show !!! the venue was great as was the show .Only bad thing was it was too short ...they only played for a bit over 1 hr but thye played all the old favs and some new tracks off the new CD ...overall though well worth the $$ (even if you are not a huge fan )
Great show, Steven Page was a great opening. However, there voices are just TO big for the little NAC, and my ears rang being in such a small place, with such powerful voices. Goo Goo Dolls lead singer had a cold, he was still really great. Not quite sure who the emo singer dancing around with no shoes is. I guess I should be up to date with the music. I am a fan of Goo Goo Dolls older hits. Next time, hit the Scotia Bank place. The range of age was unspoken for, quite a few young idiots. Overall it was an awesome show, My husband and myself shared a box at the top alone, was romantic, and we enjoyed our time, and would do it again.
Lead singer had a very bad cold. Lots of great songs.
The show was almost cancelled on Friday night when the lead singer got a really bad cold that almost took his voice completely. I was speaking with the band's manager before the show and he had to tell a group of contest winners that the backstage visit was cancelled because the lead singer was sick and extremely contagious. He in fact apologized several times to the crowd and said he was really embarrased by his health and that the crowd was great because we still cheered them on. I can't imagine singing a full show when you feel like a bag of dirt. Bravo for sticking it out guys...although I know the vocals are usually so much stronger. Steven Page as the opener was strong and funny. Good to see you back on tour...too bad Ed wasn't there with you....
