Singers and dancers were very good but orchestra was too loud to hear what the actors were saying and what the singers were singing.

    Grease - Not that great.

by AFBooter on 2010-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

My daughter and I were pretty disappointed with this performance. First and foremost, Sandy was awful. Her singing was terrible and extremely hard on the ears. Acting all together was not good. Rizo was the only character that we both agreed on that was the better performance of all. Her singing was pretty good and we looked forward to her parts. I would not recommend Grease to anyone. This is one of our all time favorite movies and this performance did not do it justice.

    Grease is definitely the word!!!!!

by Musicshow on 2010-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Took my mother and my granddaughter to Grease, I never seem to people enjoy a show so much as them considering their age range. It is really a family event. I would not hesitate to take them to another musical again at the Jubliee in Edmonton.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The voices of the actors and actresses were well matched with the original. It was very upbeat and fun. The costumes resembled those of the original greese. The set was amazing You can see alot of work went into this performance. I would highly recommend this show to all ages.

    Toe Tappingly good!

by Siddybear on 2010-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The music of course is the best part of Grease! The sound was a bit off, and you could really hear one singer over another in duets, but it still got me moving! My only bit of advice is that this is not really appropriate for kids. It's a lot more sexually induced that the movie, with a bit of foul language. Rizzo and Marty's performance outshone everyone, they are phenomenal!!!

    old favorites and hot topics

by Familystuff on 2010-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The kids all know the music but do they know the story. Do we want them to know the story? This show prompted some great discussions as we head into the teen years. I was able to relive an old favorite and the kids experienced live theatre. Even my husband enjoyed the show. Our only criticism was the sound quality.

The preshow was a neat idea to get everyone involved and ready to move to the music. The singers were great and the songs were classics that we performed really well. The story is always entertaining and the actors and actresses did a fabulous job.

    Grease: Spark missing

by pyrogie1 on 2010-11-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Evidence of some real talent, but the overall performance lacked the spark, humour, energy of earlier demonstrations. Great band. Eddie Mekka??? Meh... He's 58 years old. Time to retire.

    Grease - TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!

by jessie1993 on 2010-11-15Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This production of Grease was horrible. Advertising it as a "broadway" show was totally misleading and a rip off. The set and costumes were very cheap and the acting was very amateur. I don't mind seeing a highschool production but then I should have been charged a highschool admission price.

    Grease was amazing

by GrandmaJoyce on 2010-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

We went as a group of four to see Grease at the Jubilee and it was just awesome. It took all of us back many years when we were young and watching the movie Grease. All the performers were outstanding. I just wish everyone could have the opportunity to see this wonderful show.

    Grease - rent the video!!!

by UN0088 on 2010-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The musical overall was substandard and I would rate it the worst I've seen at the Jubilee. The sound was tinny and overall, the singing was very weak, especially in the two lead roles, Sandy and Danny (could hardly hear him at times) Sandy's solo, "Hopelessly Devoted to You", was too big of a song for her. This song demands a wide dynamic range which she did NOT possess. Her lowest note was terribly flat and the last note was grating, off by at least a semi-tone! A disaster! Rizzo stood out - a fabulous singer and actor. Great orchestra. The dancing was quite good. Enthusiastic cast - just lacking in singing ability overall. We feel we did not get our money's worth - my nieces's high school production of Cats in Saskatoon a few years back was much better quality.

    Good for a night out

by Musicalgirl on 2010-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Obviously you can't do everything as it is done on tv (limitless) or actually on Broadway since this is a traveling show. It was at times hard to hear the singers over the music, even the main singer, and that is something that you can do with a traveling show. I was glad we went.

    Not as good as expected

by critters on 2010-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Sandy actress did not make me love the character. "You Better Shape Up" should have been more powerful as its the climax of the story. The chemistry between Sandy and Danny was not evident enough to feel the "Better Shape Up" makeover by Sandy. (Danny's attempt to change for Sandy was completely missing from the story line too.) It's hard when there's a movie to live up to, but I would choose watching the movie before watching this live again. Riz has excellent voice.

Grease was a fun uplifting show. Lots of singing and music made you want to get out of your own chair and dance and sing. Anyone who enjoyed the movie Grease would come again and again to this show.

    Grease

by StarryNight12345678910 on 2010-11-14Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Singing was unbelievable. Kudos to all the male actors who hit those high notes! The female voices sounded very natural and not at all forced. This event may have received a 5 but when you are in the first balcony some of the ambience is lost. A smaller venue or closer seats is a must.

Pathetic, too slow, certin acts dragged out too long example the first act after the break 22 minutes. Next act the musical number was too slow not upbeat.About that time I fell asleep. I woke up as the finally was happening. So what more can I say.
