About

Hozier is one of the most successful folk artists of the 21st century. Born Andrew Hozier-Byrne, the Irish singer-songwriter first toured internationally as a member of the Irish vocal group Anúna before going solo in 2012. His watershed moment came a year later when his first single, “Take Me to Church” was released. In 2014, it rose to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ushered in Hozier’s self-titled debut, which itself reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. “Take Me to Church” closed 2014 as Spotify’s most-shared song of the year and garnered Hozier’s first career Grammy nomination for Song of the Year. His 2019 sophomore full-length, Wasteland Baby!, topped the Billboard 200 and was supported by Hozier’s first solo headlining world tour. In 2023, Hozier released his third album, Unreal Unearth. Throughout his career, Hozier has collaborated with artists such as Mavis Staples, Annie Lennox, Maren Morris, Noah Kahan, Brandi Carlile and composer Bear McCreary.

    Best Night of My Life!

by Jill Mayer on 2023-09-23Budweiser Stage - Toronto

This concert blew me away, I was already expecting a fantastic show because of how much I ADORE Hozier. However, he exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend that all of my friends, family, and acquaintances work towards a chance to see this man live. The visuals used during his concert were a show in itself. His voice is crystal clear and angelic, and I cannot wait to see him live again.

    Hozier is a must-see

by JL on 2023-09-23Budweiser Stage - Toronto

This concert was genuinely the most incredible experience. Hozier sounds even better live than he does on recordings (how is that even possible?!)

    Beautiful concert!

    by O. R. on 2023-09-23

This was my first GA ticket and I got barricade. The show was absolutely amazing, he was very interactive with the crowd, stopped midway a song to check on a girl who wasn’t feeling well, and asked us if everyone was okay after! He sounds absolutely ethereal live. Best night of my life.

    Amazing

by Jenna on 2023-09-22Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I've been listening to Hozier since his first album came out and I was able to get presale floor tickets to see him for the first time. The show was amazing! One of the best shows I have been to in a long time, BY FAR. The musicians he brought with him were amazing musicians and all looked like they were having a good time. Hozier is a bucket list artist to see live 100%. Take me to church was so emotional and powerful, the entire stadium was booming with passion, anger, celebration and love. I have never felt such a powerful force in my life. Thank you Hozier for doing what you do, your shows touch lives <3

    Perfect.

by Aili on 2023-09-22Budweiser Stage - Toronto

This man is insane. The best live performer I’ve ever witnessed. He sounds the exact same live as he does recorded….if not better. And the sound at Budweiser is awesome. He’s not real. There’s simply no way. I would see him 1000 times over again.

Incredible show, but venue was WAY too packed

by Em on 2023-09-22Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I had lawn seats at the Budweiser Stage and it was horrible. Physically not enough space for the number of people on the lawns. There were people crammed at entrances and in walkways - definitely a fire hazard. The merch stand was one of the slowest I have ever seen. Took over 40 minutes to buy a shirt because of the sheer volume of people - and that was while the opening act was preforming as then lines were the shortest then. However, Hoizer was a phenomenal performer and it was magical to watch. Just wish the venue was not overfilled.

    Mesmerizing

by Moni Mi on 2023-09-22Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The venue was absolutely mesmerizing for Hozier. The lighting, set design, sound quality, views, everything was just phenomenal. No issues and truly hope more artists have their concerts at Budweiser

By far the best performance I've ever seen

by Jac on 2023-09-22Budweiser Stage - Toronto

I'm a huge fan of Hozier's music and had been looking forward to this concert for months. I was expecting it to be good...but not THAT good. He has an incredible vocal range, he's a very talented musician and an equally talented lyricist. Nothing could compare to hearing him perform live. It was magical. Spiritual, even. Profound. An experience I'll never forget. If I get the chance to see him live again I will be a very, very happy human.

    Euphoric. Angelic. Godsend.

    by Chloe Majers on 2023-09-20

This was the best concert I’ve ever been to, and Hoziers voice is the most amazing I have ever heard. His skill is absolutely incredible and the power his voice has is unmatched. I felt as though I was having a religious awakening during this. He sounds the exact same live, if not even better. The visuals and lighting to accompany this enhanced the experience all the more, and truly made me feel as though I was one with the music. Not only that, but Hozier himself is such a kind and appreciative person. He made sure to repetitively acknowledge the hard work his team does and made sure his opener received just as much love as he did. On top of that, he is incredibly creative and poetic, and explained the deep meaning of many of his songs. Overall, this was one of the best experiences of my life and I would do it 100 times over again.

Best concert I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to a lot)

    by Jack on 2023-09-19

I’m a massive fan of Hoziers music and was nervous that seeing him live at City Folk wasn’t going to match the idea I’d built up in my head. He went above and beyond any expectations I could have had. Incredible stage presence - he joked around with the audience, got us to do some call and response with the vocalisations in To Be Alone, and (more importantly) stopped mid song when he got word that someone at the front had dropped and didn’t restart until he was certain they were okay. Towards the end, someone passed a trans flag up while he was playing Take Me To Church and he immediately held it up and clipped it to his mic stand for the rest of the concert. A very simple gesture but it meant so much. The music was incredible and the atmosphere made it even better.

    Once in a lifetime experience

by Lisa S on 2023-05-25The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Hozier coming to such a small venue was insane! He is a music god and for him to play such an intimate show was just such a great experience. I wish everyone would listen to his beautiful lyrical poems and be as in awe as I am.

    A magical night!

by Carina on 2023-05-24The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

There was a bit of blowout in the beginning of the show, but it was sorted out quickly! I was SO enchanted to see Hozier in such a beautiful venue. The lighting added so much to the experience, and the venue even had fans running for those of us on the floor. There were even 2 bars inside the performance venue!!! All in all it was an amazing show, I wish I could go back in time and experience it again!
