in the first few songs the sound was poor. Joe Cocker was barely heard over the instruments, and it seemed like they were doing the sound check at our expense. As much as I love Joe Cocker's music I was disappointed in that he really didn't connect with the audience.
The concert was good but the light show was cheesy and distracting
I wasn't sure what to expect, but was hoping for the best when I bought tickets to see Joe Cocker. Well, I needn't have worried. His voice is as good as ever though it has matured and is a little less raspy. He was quiet for the most part but when he spoke he was charming and he looked obviously more slick with age but with a little rock edge. All in all the concert was great and brought back a lot of memories which is what I was essentially going for. My opinion - excellent!!!
I paid $124.00 for ticket. He try to finish concert in 1hr ! Total time 1hr 20min. I am disappointed !
Joe Cocker can still belt it out. He sings with such passion and energy that it's difficult not to want to get up and get your groove on. He played a ton of hits and a few that weren't as big and it was a great mix. The band was fantastic and the back-up vocalists were amazing. The fact that this was the first time ever I've seen a concert of this magnitude on my Birthday was pretty special to me! Highly recommended!!!
Joe Cocker gave a tight and professional concert. One song after another as he wound up to three encores. The band was tight. Joe Cocker worked out and gave his all. An unforgettable performance.
The music was excellent and good length of show for the money. I was really glad to see him. He's a legend in his own time. The audience was a blast and we laughed more at everyone around us, good people who attended this show. The theatre is gorgeous and even though we were somewhat on the side (but only 7 rows fm the stage) our seats were awesome. The only complaint - with River Rock - is they need more bartenders so you don't have to wait so long to get a drink at the beginning of the show. All in all, "excellent".
I first saw Joe Cocker back in the early 80s at the commadore and was blowen away . I couldn't help but wonder if he could possibly be as great in 2009...well, it was still in the first verse of Feeling All Right when i realized I was witnessing a true legendary performance by one of the hottest bands on the planet. At 64 Joe's singing is as wicket as ever , total class act all the way.
Ham Place is a great concert hall - great seats lots of leg room. We have been fans of Joe for 30 years and have been to several of his concerts. We hope this isn't his last tour. I would have loved to jump up and dance.
Saw Joe Cocker @ River Rock Show Theatre on May 30, 2009 and was absolutely blown away by his voice. I had listened to one of my fav cd's whilst driving to the city and commented to friends that if I closed my eyes his voice was as true as ever except WAY LOUDER! Whenever I hear him since, it takes me back to that magical night, Thanks for the memory.
