Ray was great and very chilled. Beautiful weather in an outdoor concert setting is a must.

One of the best concerts I have been too. The whole band rocked my world!

    Great music. Underwhelming stage presence

by SDfan on 2011-09-07Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Perhaps I have been spoiled by incredibly enagaging artists, but it seemed as though Ray Lamontagne was outright opposed to engaging with his audience in any way. Between songs, he left the spotlight and lingered in the darkness and completely ignored any praised sung out by the crowd. The music was of course fantastic, but the stage set was incredibly underwhelming. I felt like I'd gone back 40 years in time. Rainbow lights? Really? That's all you have to offer? I won't diss the music, they are incredibly talented, but it's not a show I would see again.

Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs put on an amazing show, and the Orpheum was the perfect venue to enjoy their music. Loved every moment of it, especially when Ray interacted with the audience.

    Ray LaMontagne Awes Vancouver audience

    by HeavenlySent1 on 2011-09-05Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Ray LaMontagne delivered a soulful and awe-inspiring show this past Friday night at Vancouver's Orpheum theatre. I had been waiting to see him and the Pariah Dogs for a long time and I was not disappointed in any way. A beautiful artist whose deep integrity shined forth brightly that night! My only complaint about the evening comes from observing some of the crowd acting so disrespectful towards him by catcalling and screaming crass remarks like, "Ray! Take off your clothes" or "Ray, I wanna have your baby!". It was evident that such words embarrassed this fine performer. Being the humble man he is, Ray continued to deliver an amazing lyrical performance with grace and humility. Thank you Ray and Pariah Dogs for an unforgettable evening.

    Unbelievable!

by newBrucefan on 2011-09-04Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

For starters, the Orpheum is brilliant accoustically and Ray Lamontagne is accoustically brilliant. His sound is something almost tangible; you can feel every emotion in every note and song. His lyrics are so visual and filled with human-ness. His voice is sublime...silky and salty, sensual and gritty. His big-band sound, with just four other immensely talented players, created an evening of music that this enamored fan won't soon forget.

Ray Lamontagne is one of a kind.

by jenathan on 2011-09-04Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Aside from all the hooting fans that needed to hear themselves whenever there was a perfectly quiet moment, this was a perfect show. The sound was amazing, and Ray was, as always, beyond words. The band was great, but he is an artist that needs no accompaniment to shine.

Is there a more unique voice out there? Ray Lamontagne and his band delivered everything from country twang to mesmerizing melodies. I expected a lot from this concert but ultimately got more than expected. A great musical experience!
