About

Stone Temple Pilots in Concert

With over 70 million albums sold, Stone Temple Pilots roared on to the scene in 1992 with their raucous debut, Core. A breakout success, the album peaked #3 on the Billboard 200 chart, and dominated radio waves with hits like "Sex Type Thing," "Wicked Garden," and the Grammy-Award winning smash single, "Plush." STP quickly distinguished themselves as a band beholden to no trend. Boasting the inimitable riffs of guitarist Dean DeLeo, the propulsive rhythm section of bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz, and the charismatic baritone of frontman Scott Weiland, STP ruled airways, video playlists and charts alike over their legendary career. The band released their seventh studio album, Stone Temple Pilots (2018), their first with new lead singer, Jeff Gutt. The debut single "Meadow" from the self-titled album, channels the gritty guitars and swaggering rhythms that STP is known for, and reached top 5 at rock radio. All Music Guide states, "They haven't lost their knack for hook-heavy hard rock that wedges its way into the subconscious."

    Right on

by Suvan on 2012-09-20Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

After waiting many years to see STP I would have to say they were worth the wait. It was great to see them play especially in such a small venue where you could get close to the stage. Very cool! Only wish they would've played Dead and Bloated or Sex Type thing; not sure why they didn't include those tunes in their set! What's up with that?! But other than that I was not disappointed thanks STP for a great show and a great night!!

    Stone Temple Pilots disappointed!!

by sweetcheek on 2012-09-19Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

Had been looking forward to seeing Stone Temple Pilots!! After Crash Kings left the stage we were left waiting an hour for Stone Temple Pilots to make an appearance!! They played an amazing show, but decided after being on stage for an hour they had had enough!!! I have never been to a concert where the band played for only one hour!!

    STP sound sucked

by MsSmith on 2012-09-18Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

After purchasing 6 tickets for myself and my family to go I found that this was the most dissapointing show that CN could have put on. We were sitting in Section C straight out from the stage and head on to the show only to have the ability to hear a distorted guitar sound and absolutely couldn't make out any of the singing. We Left part way through the show after seeing that a few times someone came out onto stage what apeared to be ajusting the sound only for it to work for a few lines and that is it. This was my 2 of the kids we brought first concert and I feel that it may have turned seeing a live band off for the rest of their lives. I have no doubt that STP are a great band love some of thier songs a great deal but the set up was all wrong and this concert was a rip off for me.

    Epic Evening with STP

by BranVan007 on 2012-09-18Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

What a night! Scott and the band put on an entertaining, intimate, energized show full of raw talent. The simple stage set the mood! I expected nothing less than an extraordinary evening and that's exactly what I got! Stone Temple Pilots have been one of my favorite bands for years-to have the honor of seeing and hearing most of my favorite songs live.....PRICELESS! See you at their next venue!!

    STP in PG

by MeMe123456 on 2012-09-17Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

Stone Temple Pilots were horrible! They showed up late (about 9:50pm) and were off the stage with the house lights on by 11pm! 1 encore to which Scott Weiland just waived and walked off of the stage! The first half of the show, Scott's mic didn't seem to work because we could barely hear him - it sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher trying to sing! I would rate this concert one of the two worst concerts I have ever been to. Stone Temple Pilots should be thankful that the Crash Kings opened for them - they were absolutely awesome!! I wish they could have played all night and STP could have just stayed on their bus out in the parking lot!

STP was worse concert I've been to!!

by RockOnDamit on 2012-09-17Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

The best thing about this concert was the opening act Crash Kings and the fake wrestling between two buddies on the floor before the gig opened. We had to wait 1hour for STP to come on stage then they only played for ~60 minutes and then only played one song for the encoure. Waste of my hard earned $$. I wish the Crash Kings were the main act then I would be satisfied, those guys sung their hearts out and sounded awesome. Be warned!!

by justistruth on 2012-09-17Prince George CN Centre - Prince George

the crash kings were awesome as an opening act, however the sound quality for the STP was poor at the start and they only played for an hour much to short for a band that has had several albums

I liked the opening act, but was disappointed with STP. There was very little interaction with the small crowd other than the lead singer saying "thanks".

    Expected MORE

by DebtofBones on 2012-09-16CN CENTRE - prince george

Very bad show the boys of STP put on last night! All we would hear was the guitar and no vocals. They came on an hr late!!! I expected a high performance from those guys and was totally blown away how bad it was! Crash Kings did a way better job.

Stone Temple Pilots, mailed it in

by Flipper30 on 2012-09-16CN Centre - Prince George, BC

STP, late and bored. Far from a sold out venue, STP looked like they were going through the motions. Very little interaction with the crowd, they seemed more interested in their water bottles between songs. Too bad because the sound was great. Short set and only one song for an encore, it looked as though they couldn't get it over fast enough. As a big STP fan, I was unbelievably dissapointed.

    STP rocked

by Cocopepe on 2012-09-15Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

STP's show was the best STP show I've ever seen. They played loud, neat and the song list was incredible because although few amazing songs were missing (Sex type thing, down) they played great songs they don't played so often, and they were AMAZING!!! (meat plow, big bang baby, black again). It was super worth going to the concert. I highly recommend this new STP!

    STP rocks the Burt

by Shepmeister on 2012-09-15Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Have to say we were skeptical about picking these tickets up after the massive let down the last time STP was in town. We were surprised and excited about the change of venue because the Burt has some of the best acoustics in the city! The opening band (Crash Kings) did a great job warming up the crowd. STP came on strong and did an amazing job! We were so excited that we made the right choice in giving them another chance. We know that the venue had a lot to do with why the concert was so good. We got a chance to see STP in concert in an intimate setting. They really blew us away.

by joestrong on 2012-09-14Edmonton Event Centre - Edmonton

i enjoyed the show but my only issue was they cut out sex type thing to play a cover of cheap tricks surrender. i'd have rather of heard their song. i also thought the 6-7 minute jam could have been replaced with a song or 2 of their catalog...wanted to here wicked garden, piece of pie & where the river goes...

    STP Rocked Mac Hall!

by lawgirl on 2012-09-14MacEwan Hall - Calgary

What a concert! These guys definitely still got it, heroine addictions and jail time notwithstanding. There was love in the room and I'm sure the band felt it. After the encore, all 4 joined arms at the front of the stage and beamed at the fans. You could tell they knew they were back!
