Since premiering at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre in 2003, WICKED has been mesmerizing audiences and breaking records, becoming the second highest-grossing musical in Broadway history with over $1.4 billion in tickets sold. Composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz and book writer Winnie Holzman’s magical “untold true story of the Witches of Oz” has been nominated for 10 Tony Awards — winning three — including Idina Menzel for Best Actress in a Musical as heroine Elphaba. With a captivating score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity” and “For Good,” the WICKED cast album won Best Musical Show Album at the 47th Grammy Awards, with Time magazine cheering, “If every musical had a brain, a heart, and the courage of WICKED, Broadway really would be a magical place.” In addition to Menzel, the star-studded original cast included Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda, Norbert Leo Butz as Fiyero, Joel Grey as the Wizard, Carole Shelley as Madame Morrible, Christopher Fitzgerald as Boq, Michelle Federer as Nessarose, and William Youmans as Doctor Dillamond. WICKED is also the fourth longest-running show in Broadway history.

My 3rd time seeing Wicked but my first time in New York. It was worth the trip. Truely stunning performances from the whole cast.
This is my 4th time seeing Wicked, but first time on Broadway...I was enchanted once again, as well as so very impressed with the theatre. There didnt seem to be a bad seat in the house. The actors were amazing, and the show itself remains endearing after all these years. Highly recommend seeing the play..
The cast have amazing talent, incredible voices. The story was funny and action packed, kept your interest. I highly recommend seeing this show.
See my previous review. My favourite musical ever. And I've seen a lot
This was my 6th time seeing Wicked but my first on Broadway. Wow! What a show. Amazing set, staging, and cast. Everything about the production was incredible. This show has always had a special place in my heart. Seeing it on Broadway secures it as my number one favourite show.
A friend recommended I see Wicked while in NYC. I thought it couldn't be as great as she raved...It absolutely was! I loved the story, the acting was terrific, especially Alfie! Loved the story line and the moral of the story, loved the music, all actors were terrific, and the humour so enjoyable! 5 Stars didn't want it to end!
I was amazed with Phantom of the Opera. Wicked is as amazing. The Prince of Broadway did it again even at near 90 years old. Creativity doesn't stop at any particular age, Prince is the living proof. The green Wicked gave me goose bumps during the whole show and the little blond had a beautiful voice and her acting was superb ... made me laugh all along. Bravo to the Prince...Bravo to the cast. If you like musicals Wicked is the show to see.
This show was awesome. The acting of the cast was great! The singing, the stage, everything was brilliant! Totally recommended with everyone. A must see!
This is the second time I have seen this show. Enjoyed it as much as I did the first time, perhaps maybe even a bit more. "Galinda" (the Ga) is silent, was awesome. She stole the show in so many scenes! The music was great, solo performances were made to give the audience goose bumps. I would totally recommend this show to all of my friends!
The show was overall an amazing experience. The acting and singing were on point and excellent, everything was perfectly executed. Great cast! Highly recommended
This was a highlight for my first trip to New York. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
This show is an absolute must if you are in New York, the set, cast and theatre were amazing. I took my 12 yr old boy wondering if he would be entertained but he was absolutely glued to the show and at the end he told me it was "amazing" (those of you that have a 12 yr old boy know this is praise indeed!).
I had wanted to see this show for many years and had heard such great things about it that I was afraid it would not live up to to my expectations..well, my fears were unfounded...the show was wonderful...I enjoyed every minute!
It was amazing!! First time to New York and it was a highlight!!! 2nd time seeing the show, first time was in Calgary, also great!!!
It was our first time to NEW York and broadway play. We had seats row N 1-3-5-7 had no idea what to expect. When we sat in our seats it was awesome. My wife is 5 ft tall so we were worried the person sitting in front of her might be a problem well we were wrong PERFECT Then the show started and next thing you no 2 1/2 to 3 hours it was over I can see why this show is highly rated for over 13 yrs. Please go if you have a chance !!!
The show was absolutely amazing. The starts were fantastic with how they performed, there was a slight error in one of the lines and the actresses worked around it beautifully (no one even really noticed!!!) the singing was outstanding - everything look beautiful, staff were so friendly, I would 100% recommend this play to anyone else going to New York!
The performances and stage effects were exactly what you would expect from a Broadway performance. And the talent experienced from the singers was fantastic.
This was my third time seeing Wicked on Broadway and my sons first, although he was a big Broadway fan. The show was beyond amazing. We had an absolute blast. My husband and I and my 16yr old twins loved loved loved it. Go see it and book through ticketmaster an easy transaction and easy ticket printing
My daughter and I saw Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre last week. We had great seats, Row D, 101, 102 with no one beside us or behind us. Lots of room. And only eight rows from the stage. Play was good, not great, costumes were beautiful. Problems - It was so cold in the theatre, I couldn't wait to get out of there. And yes, I was wearing a sweater. Also, I found the staff very snarky that I dealt with. I received a lot of attitude about asking for a second playbill, as we did not each receive one. She did not think it was possible that we did not receive two to begin with.
What a fantastic way to spend an evening in Manhattan! My guest and I were thoroughly entertained with this performance. The cast was spot on, the stage was designed perfectly, the orchestra was phenomenal. We were over the moon with the experience. We would highly recommend this show to everyone - there's something for every generation. Be sure to purchase the $25 program - this makes for a great keepsake to share with your friends had family back home. I'd see "Wicked" again in a heartbeat.
