About

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan and guitarist Billy Howerdel have been taking the alternative rock and metal worlds by storm as A Perfect Circle since 2000. The band has been active recently in South America and Australia on a string of festival concert dates in early 2013 after a massive US tour in the summer of 2011. The legendary live dynamics of Howerdel's precision playing and Keenan's world-class rock baritone has fans snapping up tickets rapidly. Concerts consist of simple sets along with an amalgam of music from all three of their albums. They also perform tasteful renditions of some surprising cover songs, as noted in their most recent greatest hits album, Three Sixty (2013).

Howerdel is a former guitar tech for rock-world heavyweights Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins and Fishbone. He and Keenan met in 1992 when Tool was opening for Fishbone. The union began as the brainchild of Howerdel, who had been working on the music for a number of years prior to playing some demos for Keenan. The singer suggested that he could hear himself performing the songs, and the circle was put into motion. Their debut album, Mer De Noms appeared at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The band later produced the 2003 album Thirteenth Step and 2004's eMOTIVe. Keenan and Howerdel share the lineup with top-notch rock royalty James Iha, formerly of Smashing Pumpkins, who holds down rhythm guitar, while bassist Matt McJunkins was picked up from Howeredel's side project, Ashes Divide. Meanwhile, renowned Vandals and one-time Guns 'N' Roses member Josh Freese is featured on drums. A Perfect Circle appeared suddenly, cranked out tons of music and sort of just disappeared, however, years later, the group is now back with another release in a pattern that seems, well, circular.

  • A perfect circle was awesome!

The opener beta machine was excellent, can’t wait to hear more from them! I’ve been waiting to see a perfect circle for a long time and they were excellent live!

  • Great show

    by Buckster109 on 2017-11-18Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Show was suberb. Very proffesional and entertaining. Sound was cranked up however very clear and vocals were great. I honestly did not expect this calibre of music and I was pleasantly surprised. The lighting was also superb and would rival the lighting of some of the top bands out there right now. Would definitely go again

They played a great show but it would've been really nice if they'd played an encore. The seats were reasonably priced and the sound was good as well.

  • APC rocked the house

by Jussumguy on 2017-11-18Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Opening act The Beta Machine were pretty good and featured 2 members of APC who pulled double duty. APC were tight and energetic - Maynard may not be able to hold those high notes like he used to but he makes up for it. The newer songs were great including the newest single "The Doomed", though it seemed a lot of people didn't recognize the 4 newest ones. Surprisingly small turnout to the show, but for those of us that were there (centre floor 12th row!) this show was everything I was hoping it would be. 3rd time I've seen APC, 7th time seeing Maynard - never disappoints. Oh, and the no pictures/video policy? Made the show SOOOO much more enjoyable!

  • Amazing Show!

Once again MJK does not disappoint. The entire band sounded great and were spot on. This band is a must see.

  • Missed the Perfect Circle Concert

by JetsFanTO on 2017-11-18Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I was very disappointed as I could not attend the concert due to illness . I have waited years to see Perfect Circle (I have seen Tool a few times ). I hope I will get to see them perform at some point .

  • Wow

by FrancisG on 2017-11-18Place Bell - LavalRating: 5 out of 5

Great show really, lighting was great, sound was surprisingly good for an arena but the sound was better on the first group playing. I dont know why the subwoofers are reserved for the second main group only. But the things is it sound better without. When on the bass is lost in the mix with the bass drum and all you hear is mushines wobble. But overall great show

  • They sounded incredible

by OrganicWaste on 2017-11-18Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

What’s the one song that you figure will definitely be played? Well don’t expect to hear it. No encore (which is fine). Songs from upcoming album next year were not very good, imo.

  • A PERFECT CIRCLE!!! A PERFECT SHOW!!!!!

The show was amazing!!! Everything I could have hoped for and more!!!

  • Underwhelming performance

    by PJ1993 on 2017-11-18Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

This was my 3rd time seeing APC and after such a long wait and build up, I was hoping to be blown away with this performance. Sadly, this was not the case. APC. In true Maynard form, hidden at the back, not offering much in the way of interaction except for apologizing for the president of the USA. Something he seems to continually do to win over the crowd. Their attempt at live remixes like they have on some of the EP's was not successful and not performing the biggest of big hits is always a disappointment to the crowd.

Opening of the show was excellent and the sound was crisp! Best show I’ve seen at the ACC

Even though they have a no video policy I enjoyed not having people's phone obstructing my view of a great performance

  • A Perfect Circle Never Misses a Beat

by BloodyTears on 2017-11-18Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Vocally and musically A Perfect Circle are excellent live. The equality in the band is felt thought the show. Great stage setup and light show. All and all a solid show. If you're craving the showmanship and entertainment factor of something like Aerosmith or FFDP this may not be the show for you.

  • A Perfect Circle- A perfect concert

The concert A Perfect Circle in Laval was absolutely fantastic! It was nostalgic, reminiscing how the band got started and played all their great hits. The sound at this new Place Bell in Laval is great and we would definitely recommend this band and this venue to everyone.

  • A Perfect Circle rocked!!!

by Patmanchu on 2017-11-17Place Bell - LavalRating: 5 out of 5

Kick ass show with great visuals and sound! Even if you could see the stage the visuals were great. Loved how they did the intro song behind a curtain. Great play with shadows.
