A Lovely Evening Out
by Bailey on 2024-12-10Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5This was a lovely event and an enjoyable one. I am glad that the time was changed to 6pm to accommodate families with children because this really is a story geared toward children. And it was so nice to see people dressing up for a special event. Our experience was a positive one. It was well organized and easy to navigate to our seats. The actual ballet was enjoyable however I did feel that a couple of the male soloists were a little off the night we attended, that is, losing their balance and being off kilter somewhat. My only question mark is the audience reaction. That is to say that I have never attended a ballet in my life where the audience hooted and hollered at the dancers. Yes, it was in appreciation but we were at a ballet, not a country rodeo or rock concert. For myself, that detracted my experience and I would have preferred to hear the audience call out "Bravo". And yes, before anyone rebuts this comment, I am old school and I do like some tradition sometimes. BTW, we have tickets to attend Pink Floyd at the Winspear in January (can't wait) and I do expect lots of "hootin' and hollerin"there!
