Amon Amarth have been marching purposefully from triumph to greater triumph for the last two decades. Formed amid the fertile Swedish metal scene in the mid 90's, these dedicated diehards brought a new sense of drama and destruction to the world of heavy music, propagating tales of Viking mythology and mortal combat over a devastating soundtrack of crushing rhythms, refined melody and rousing, rebellious refrains. From the release of their debut album Once Sent From The Golden Hall in 1998, to their latest masterpiece Jomsviking, Amon Amarth’s trajectory has been firmly upward, as this band’s devotion to touring the world and spreading their inspirational creed resonates with the ever-growing hordes of like-minded metalheads.
Swedish war machine Sabaton are on their way to worldwide heavy metal domination. These platinum selling, Falun-based heavy metal heroes are heading to Australia. No mercy will be given and all guns will be blazing, as this tireless killing machine prepares to blow fans to another dimension, playing songs off their entire catalogue as well as their latest opus The Last Stand.
The Vikings took over the Commodore and killed! Great show!
The concert was awesome! Just Amon Amarth played the entire time. They did 2 sets, probably totaling 2.5 - 3 hrs of music! The only negitive about it was the sound mix. The guitars needed to be turned up or to have more treble and mid, or something like that. The vocals sounded awesome and so did the drumbs and bass. It was just hard to pick out the guitars from everything else.
This was the 3rd time I have seen Amon Amarth. Every show is epic. You can tell they are happy to be there and love their fans. Ticket prices are reasonable and their sound is amazing.
I was disappointed for lots of things. First, I was a visitor in USA, and I just wanted sit since I was tired, and the chairs were where the bar was. The guy asked me a GREEN CARD to buy beer. He could be more educated, and asked first for my passport, not a green a card, everybody look at me. It was embarrassing. Also, was not allowed to take any photo. So they took my camera away. They claimed that the band did not allowed. Well, In Brazil concerts have less bureaucracy.
Amon Amarth put on a great show good lighting for a small venue and sound quality was great didnt like holy grail though at all! horrible but thats my opinion haha wasn't really into the show until all your hear is twilight of the thunder gods first notes!!
The Amon Amarth show was amazing. The show was true Viking Metal. The show featured great songs from numerous albums. Holy Grail and Eluvetie were also great, but when Amon Amarth hit the stage, just speechless. Everything from the Fate of Norns album, to With Oden On Our Side, they played a great show. Great job, visit us back in Toronto next year!!
The setup for this show was handled well. The lineup was handled and we were given ample time to grab merchandise and drinks before the opener started. The opener was a nice throwback metal band with a ton of energy. The next band, Eluveitie, was an amazing blend of celtic music and metal. Their music was interesting and their performance was spot on. I enjoyed them enough to run out and buy their album the next day. Amon Amarth has been one of my favorite bands for years and years. They did not dissapoint at this show. Their performance was spot on and the lead singer did an excellent job of talking to the crowd, pumping us up and getting us involved. The only complaint I might have is either the accoustics or the sound setup made it sometimes hard to hear the excellent melodic lead guitar parts of some of my favorite songs but that is a minor complaint because it was never entirely muted. Overall I loved the show and it was one of my favorite ever.
Amon Amarth, for those who like good music. People usually say that death metal is just a loud noise, but they are wrong, this band is composed by real musicians and they have excellent songs.
Amon Amarth owned the stage! I did not want the show to end....and I don't think the band did either.
The bands were awesome. It was a great time.... the only problem was the Amon Amarth shirt I bought had a hole in it... for $30 bucks I think the quality could have been a bit better.
Bottom line the best metal band out there... Take a very lively show, couple that with a 90 minute set - including two encores- and you get all the bang for your buck you can handle.
Amon Amarth are a totally great band that always put on a wicked show. This is the first time that they have headlined at MacHall. Previous times they played at the Warehouse and Sounds of the Underground. The collectable t-shirts and clothing are really cool. It was great going in and seeing all these metal heads who can appreciate Vikings!!!! The backup bands were fantastic: Holy Grail and Eluveitie. I am total fans now of these bands too. I highly recommend going to see Amon Amarth!!! Grrr \m/
If you want your money's worth, go see Amon Amarth... Ive seen them twice and they are unbelievable... Eluveite is turbo deadly too, if you haven't heard them you had better cause you'd be blown away. Eurpoean metal is way ahead of North American. Even if you don't know metal, I'm sure if you seen these bands live you'd at least appreciate them.
Concert was great. It opened with Holy Grail who I wasn't that thrilled with as im not a fan of thrash metal. Then came Eluveitie who were just amazing. Love all the instruments and crazyness they bring. Amon Amarth were stunning and really brought everything together with a amazing performance. I highly recomend this as they give a great performance.
Loved the show. Amon Amarth put on a great show. Mac hall needs to work on their sound.
I was surprised by the quality of the opening bands.. however what didn't surprise me was how awesome Amon Amarth was... they were friken crazy, I would recommend them to anyone.
Holy grail, Eluveitie, and Amon Amarth put on a killer show!!! Mosh pit was nuts and the crowd was great! The Rickshaw was much better than last time as well being that you could actually hear the vocals, overall it was a sick, sold out show and it sucks for anyone that missed out! 5 out of 5!!
A must for an experience! Oh so good! Amon Amarth will never disappoint!
Quite possibly best show I've ever seen. I had high expectations and AA delivered. Sound was near perfect.
Holy grail wasn't all that good but that was made up for by Eluveitie. The headliners were worth sleeping in the back of my truck for. I thought the guy from Melbourne was joking when he said it would be worth it. Turns out he saw them a few months ago then moved here last Friday, decided to go see them again.
