  • Outstanding Performance by a Canadian Rock Legend

by Racoon on 2012-11-04McPhillips Station Casino - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

We went with a group of 8 and all of us felt it was an outstanding concert. We all commented on how at 64, Myles Goodwin still had a fantastic range of voice. The instrumentals were excellent as well. All of the Band's great hits except for Weeping Widow were played.

Myles Goodwyn has still got it. Great voice. Great show. My wife and I were somewhat disappointed they did not sing You Won't Dance With Me and Love Has Remembered Me.

It was a very enjoyable show and evening........sounded very good!!!! Too bad the idiots taking pictures weren't asked to stop by venue staff.....Miles had to remind some those people himself!!!!!!!

  • "I Like to Rock" with April Wine

The April Wine show was awesome. First time I had been to this venue & was very happy I got the tickets. Now know where the best seats for me would be. Great setlist. I'm a happy camper.

Great show! The band still rocks! Sounds as good as they did years ago. Highly recommend seeing them if you can. They played all the hits.

  • April Wine Rocked!

Great music, great sound, good company! Rock and roll never dies! Still the best music out there!

  • April Wine was memorable. Music was great.

Really enjoyed the hits selection of classic rock from April Wine's musical journey. Great to see that Myles still enjoys playing & writing new songs after a great career. The band played well together & appeared to really enjoy each other and the fans. Was a classic concert in a smaller, intimate setting!!!

  • Ringing in the ears

by concertlovinKatie on 2012-04-09Deerfoot Inn & Casino - CalgaryRating: 2 out of 5

Went to see April Wine on the weekend quite enjoyed it ,we had forgotton some the grest songs they did .However, found the music way too loud for size of the venue and its kind of a scruffy room [now dont get me wrong I love loud rock music] but it seemed distorted and badly at times that kind of spoilt it . Oh by the way they have a great new young drummer he's talented.I dont think I would see them again certainly not at a casino .

  • April Wine were unbelievable

Age hasn't slowed Myles or the boys down. They can still rock it. They played for over 1 1/2 hours. The setting was intimate and they still sound great.

  • April Wine everything I expected

    by c3p022 on 2012-04-09Deerfoot Inn & Casino - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

April Wine was fantastic, great sound, great vocals, great energy. Only problem with this event was Deerfoot Inn cramming way too many people into this concert venue, it was way overcrowded, no room to walk down the aisles, and no real room for people to get up and dance, sitting in a chair that is so crammed in next to others is no way to enjoy a concert. I felt claustrophobic before the concert even started. Again though, April Wine themselves were superb!!!! Wish they played longer though.

  • April Wine - time to hang up the guitars!

by susisideliner on 2012-01-13Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 2 out of 5

This was the worst concert I have been to. They were too loud, distorted and out of sync. VERY DISAPPOINTED! We went to this even last year with Foreigner and they were fantastic. Expensive evening for a terrible show!

  • April Wine was awesome!

by Mamaduke on 2012-01-05Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 4 out of 5

Brought back some memories, that's for sure. I only wish they could have played a little longer. Smaller venue was great, seating more intimate than the large arenas. The only thing spoiling it was the two drunken middle aged ladies in front of us acting like it was their first time at a concert, while their dates sat and looked like they were having a hard time enjoying themselves. I was embarrassed for them. Other than that it was a great night, would definitley see them again!

  • April Wine Left Open Too Long

by AprilShowers on 2012-01-03Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 2 out of 5

Its too bad April Wine have a great list of songs to draw on that are Canadian Classics but their stage show is lacking. I can imagine after playing the same songs for so long you could get to dislike them as players. It show and that is unacceptable when you have a paying audience. I would have rather not seen them and saved my money if I knew the show was going to be so boring and uninspired. There are many bands who are just as old and tour more than April Wine. I will save my money to give to a band that cares about their audience enough to smile and at least fake looking like they are having a good time. Too many good bands not enough money or free time to waste. April Wine you can spend your money in better ways. On a good note his voice was in good shape but overshadowed by their lack of paying tight and in time with each other. It's not like they didn't have time to perfect their three chord rock classics.

The event itself was good, Food, atmosphere etc: April Wine was only on stage for under 1 and 1/4 to 1 and 1/2 hours though, a little disappointing. I have been to other higher energy concerts ( Rhianna, Pogues, Flogging Molly and even Niel Diamond) and they were on stage allot longer. When April Wine was on stage they were very good.

  • April Wine was not very exciting.

by bennettcrew on 2011-11-12Queen Elizabeth Theatre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Was not very impressed with the bands energy, the sound was not very good and it did not seem like they were into the night at all. Myles seemed to have problems with his equipment all night which made him seem frustrated. It showed in the bands performance.

Great energy and the sound is incredible! They connect with the audience and their personality comes through.
