Toronto Maple Leafs History

The Toronto Maple Leafs have 13 Stanley Cup Championships and six division championships, with more than 60 former players, coaches and executives in the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Maple Leafs were one of the NHL's founding teams in 1917. They originally were known as the Arenas and then the St. Patricks before taking their current name in 1927 after Conn Smythe bought the franchise.

The team won two Stanley Cup Championships in the NHL's first five years and returned to the finals in 1932 behind the "Kid Line" of eventual Hall of Famers Charlie Conacher, Joe Primeau, and Busher Jackson. In 1942, they defeated the Detroit Red Wings in seven games to win the first of five Stanley Cup Championships under coach Hap Day. The addition the following year of center Ted Kennedy helped the Leafs maintain their dominance, and resulted in another title in 1951.

The Leafs won three Stanley Cup Championships in a row starting in 1962, and another in the 1966-1967 season, thanks to a roster brimming with players who would end up in the Hall of Fame: George Armstrong, Johnny Bower, Red Kelly, Dave Keon, Tim Horton, Allan Stanley, Bob Pulford, and Frank Mahovlich.

The team returned to the conference finals in 1992-1993 and 1993-1994, then again in 1998-1999 — the latter trip powered by eventual franchise scoring leader Mats Sundin. The Toronto Maple Leafs have made the Playoffs a total of 72 times to date.

    GREAT FAMILY NITE

by DQJAYNE on 2023-10-06Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Amazing seats. Great vibes. Awesome to see so many families and kids enjoy our TML. Nice to hear laughter, talking, cheering. Prices made it affordable for lots of us to be able to see our team play.

    Overtime Delight

by Di on 2023-10-06Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Great game. Full arena. Felt like a regular season game only I would never be able to get tickets for the regular season. Full value for the money - overtime thriller between 2 historic Canadian teams. Only complaint - food and drink prices are unreasonable.

    A hockey game never disappoints!

by Melissa on 2023-10-06Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Bought pre-season leaf tickets for my husband's birthday. He myself and our two boys had a great time! So glad they have pre-season tickets available. It's the only time all 4 of us can go together and not break the bank! Go Leafs go!

    Great time !!!

by Zee on 2023-10-05Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

As a Habs fan who lives in Toronto I was a bit held back on wearing my jersey to support the opposite team BUT the fans really made me and my Habs buddy feel at home. The atmosphere was great, the seats were great and the fans were awesome so I would definitely go back to watch them play Montreal again !!

    Bucket list adventure

by Mustanglady on 2023-10-05Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

This was my first NHL game which was amazing experience surrounded by other Leafs fans was also great and great seats in section 104 but hope to see another game in my lifetime. The only negative thing I have to say is they should open their doors earlier to grab a meal before the game, having thousands of people coming in only an hour before the game leads to to many long line ups for food and drinks and shopping for leaf’s memorabilia.

Always a FUN time at the Leafs game!

by BradH on 2023-10-05Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

We had a good time at the game. I wish ticket prices were the same for regular season as they were for preseason. Always lots to look at and listen to on the big screen during the game. Not a bad seat in the house. We were far up so we couldn't quite hear the action on the ice but we could see everything clearly so that was fine. Sometimes we could hear the ref's whistle. The only downside to the trip was the concessions. I really wished they would have had an unlimited refill for pop and popcorn. I do enjoy that you can get that at Rogers Centre for Blue Jays games. C'mon Leafs, add that in to your concession offerings. Your prices are already outrageous, give us free refills!

Seats were good when we got them

by wilde on 2023-10-05Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

We arrived and one of our seats was broken, I let the usher know before the game started. We were told they would have someone look at it. They had a maintenance person come during the game and we had to stand for the first half of the period with a seat missing. Halfway through the first, we were moved to seats further from the ice in a cheaper section. But before the end of the period, the owners of those seats arrived and we had to wait in the concourse while they fixed our seat in the intermission. We went the whole 1st period of the game without our seats and as an apology, we were offered free popcorn.

    Great (expensive) night

by Kdawg on 2023-10-05Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

We sat in 309 at the top- really great view of the game. The food pricing was crazy - $8 for water? $16 for 3 chicken tenders? What is going on … ruins it for families.

They give me high blood pressure

by Sabrina T on 2023-10-05Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The atmosphere is awesome at games! The hype team is great with the Tshirt tosses and the fan interaction is amazing. The leafs tho are so frustrating- there were winning 3-1 going into the 3rd period and lost 4-3 in over time… it was a pre season game but they are acting like it’s playoff hockey.

    Sad security

by JW on 2023-10-05Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The game was great! You get exactly what you expect going to a hockey game. The venue however, basically sold out. How do you only have three gates open to allow the whole crowd into the game? Pretty sad. Lots of people missed over half of the first period because they were stuck outside trying to pass security. Once people made it to the front of the line with a bag they were told they would have to go to another gate. People waited in like for half an hour just to have to move, with little to no signage, getting inside was a nightmare.

    Go Leafs Go

by Ebenezer on 2023-10-05Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

It was lovely to watch Mathew, Marner, Nilander,Knies,Tyler, Riley and John and the team play. Great bunch of guys with talent we have. But have to break the “playoff curse” if we are to achieve anything different by way of results. The atmosphere was electric even though it was a pre-season game and those platinum seats are worth every bit!!!

Obstructed View without knowing on section 101

by Mel on 2023-09-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Out seats were horrible, section 101 row 10, seat 1&2. Seat 1 especially had an obstructed view and not noted on selection. We could not see plays on the right side or the far side, because of there obstruction. I know it's pre season but I still spend a lot of money for 2 tickets and, at there angry the entire game! I would discourage anyone paying the price for these seats.

    Leafs For The Win

    by General BurHan on 2023-08-31

So all these pouty pandas whining about the Leafs. If you say good things about them they want to call you a part time fan. Who on earth made them divide who is a real leafs fan or not. I grew up in Toronto and support my city. Go leafs go for better or worse! I’m with you till the end my beloved champions. Go get em Men! Do your best and don’t let these confused ungrateful ingrates tell you nothing, if they do do t let it phase you. Let’s get that Cup. 16 wins to it, once you get to the playoffs that is. Best wishes to my Leafs and I’ll be watching you. cYa
