Amazing, creative, talented performance! Can't wait to attend the next program.
I enjoy all styles of ballet, from classical to hip-hoppy, but need one thing to hold my interest. The dancers need to be dancing. Some of the pieces in some of the shows over the past few years have been more what i'd call "performance art" - exercises in movement but not what i'd call "dance". This is why i was so thrilled to see Friday's performance of BUSK and BRISA. Both were modern and innovative but showcased the immense talent of the dancers. The athletics in BUSK were jaw-dropping (esp by 2 of the principal dancers) but this wasn't at the expense of fluidity and beautiful artistry. We also loved some of the hip-hop elements in BUSK. Pls continue in this vein for future programs...we love the "dance"!
Loved every moment of Ballet BC’s performance. The dancing was spectacular!
Thoroughly enjoyed the evening, beautiful performance by all the dancers, would highly recommend it.
It was something totally different than you'd think of ballet, much more similar to contemporary dance. Still beautiful and enjoyable. Though perhaps not enough skin.
This show blew me away. Everything from the music to the world class caliber performance was amazing. So we'll executed. I saw the Thursday premiere and had to come back Saturday for more. I was not disappointed.
As usual, pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the show thoroughly!
Program 3 was unlike any other ballet experience. It was magical and powerful and something I will never forget. There is no way to explain with words how moving this performance was.
Couldn't have had a more enjoyable time. The choreography was top-notch, as always, and the dancing was top-drawer. I could only wish the season was longer. It seems to end so quickly.
Loved Bill especially but the choreography is intriguing and each piece had such a story to tell! Well worth seeing. The gender neutral costuming added fascination and the dancing was truly inspiring.
Elegant performance, beautifully choreographed and accompanied with well chosen music and vocals. Interesting to see what a human body can do.
Absolutely stunning! Ballet BC just keeps getting better and better!!
Worth while going if you are looking for a cultural experience in Vancouver. Some of the choreography was a little strange, but you have to expect that with modern dance. The dancing was great, and the acting (non-verbal) was really quite good too. I enjoyed the costumes.
Ballet BC is one of the best-kept arts experiences in Vancouver. The company consistently puts forward stunning, contemporary pieces. The dancers are phenomenal and the control and beauty with which they move are incredible. This performance, with its stark minimalism, was nothing less than stunning. If you haven't been to one of BC Ballet's programs, please check them out.
Go and see it! This was an amazing night out and a real eye opener on this gifted group of performers
An excuisite new vision of Romeo and Juliet by a wonderful company.
I was amazed by the inventive choreography which was perfect for Prokofiev's romantic music. Their dance reflected the purity, impetuosity, and silliness of youth. The dance of Brandon Alley and Emily Chessa was so emotional and beautiful. The dance of Gibert Small was gracefully vigorous.
Amazing performance with beautiful dancers! Music, costumes, decorations - everything was wonderful. I was watching it with tears on my eyes.
Performance itself was wonderful. Audience - has no more common sense left. Chewing, talking, making noises opening crunchy packages, dropping bottles on the floor. Please, include common theater etiquette requirements in ticket confirm e-mails or pre-show messages ( like refrain from using cell phones etc...) thank you
Mesmerizing performance! Spectacular choreography! Impeccable delivery! And amazing choice of music! What a treat!!
