BC Lions History
The BC Lions are the fifth oldest active franchise in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Founded in 1954, the Lions have made 10 appearances in the Grey Cup championship game and have won the cup six times: in 1964, 1985, 1994, 2000, 2006 and 2011. The BC Lions have claimed the Grey Cup twice on their home turf, including their notable 1994 victory over the former Baltimore Football Club, which prevented a U.S.-based team from hoisting Canadian football’s top prize. The Lions logged the CFL’s second-longest streak of playoff appearances, running for 20 consecutive seasons between 1997 and 2016. Throughout the BC Lions’ history, roster members have claimed 14 Most Outstanding Rookie Awards, 11 Most Outstanding Canadian Awards and Most Outstanding Defensive Player Awards apiece, seven Most Outstanding Player Awards, and five Annis Stukus Trophies for the CFL’s Coach of the Year.

The BC Lions are the longest-tenured team to continuously compete at BC Place, starting with its opening in 1983. The stadium has grown in stature across the league, hosting nine Grey Cup championship games, including a Lions victory in 2011. During home games, fans can expect to hear the BC Lions fight song “Roar, You Lions, Roar” and get hyped up with team mascot Leo the Lion. The 54,500-seat multipurpose stadium has also hosted Major League Soccer’s Vancouver Whitecaps FC as well as games during the 2010 Winter Olympics and the annual Canada Sevens rugby competition. BC Place is located on the north side of False Creek in downtown Vancouver.

by moosie on 2023-07-12Good game even if the Lions had lost Negative - a couple too many stoppages in play for promotions Positive - security was much more polite than at the last game I attended. Last game I had forgotten that I had a small pocket knife in my pocket. It was decades old and when I asked if I could leave it at customer service or lost and found all I got was an abrupt "no there is nobody there"so - guess what I passed en route to my seat - customer service / lost and found with staff in attendance!! I walk with a cane because my balance is not good, I am 76 years old, I wonder who they thought I would assult? Perhaps they were more courteous because I left "weapons"at home? Positive - good pre - game celebration Negative - small crowd

by Charlotte on 2023-07-03not living in Vcr anymore so have to spend lots of money to get to the game; so cheap seats it was!! which are actually great viewing seats - but different cuz you are with the "casual fans".... and soooo many empty seats at field level! wish they would offer them to paying ticket holders so stadium looks full! Loved the whole "experience"though- new owner nows how yo sell the game! from THE TREWS (Amazing) to the reasonably priced gift store there is something for everyone!

The entire experience blew me away and you have certainly won over Violet and Brooke with the live DJ 🎤, big screen interactions, singalongs and the $10 kids merch packs. Food was great but the price of beer was a absolute rip off. Gouging the hard working man at the highest level!! WTF!? Not Cool! $18.75 for a plastic cup of warm beer? Disgusting!

Though a classic rock guy,I thoroughly enjoyed the rap of LL CoolJay, great ensemble, had the old rocker dancing on the aisles. The new Lions ownership under Doman has created a family friendly atmosphere. The game itself, was a bit of a defensive struggle with moments of CFL style excitement.
