BC Lions History
The BC Lions are the fifth oldest active franchise in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Founded in 1954, the Lions have made 10 appearances in the Grey Cup championship game and have won the cup six times: in 1964, 1985, 1994, 2000, 2006 and 2011. The BC Lions have claimed the Grey Cup twice on their home turf, including their notable 1994 victory over the former Baltimore Football Club, which prevented a U.S.-based team from hoisting Canadian football’s top prize. The Lions logged the CFL’s second-longest streak of playoff appearances, running for 20 consecutive seasons between 1997 and 2016. Throughout the BC Lions’ history, roster members have claimed 14 Most Outstanding Rookie Awards, 11 Most Outstanding Canadian Awards and Most Outstanding Defensive Player Awards apiece, seven Most Outstanding Player Awards, and five Annis Stukus Trophies for the CFL’s Coach of the Year.

BC Lions at BC Place
The BC Lions are the longest-tenured team to continuously compete at BC Place, starting with its opening in 1983. The stadium has grown in stature across the league, hosting nine Grey Cup championship games, including a Lions victory in 2011. During home games, fans can expect to hear the BC Lions fight song “Roar, You Lions, Roar” and get hyped up with team mascot Leo the Lion. The 54,500-seat multipurpose stadium has also hosted Major League Soccer’s Vancouver Whitecaps FC as well as games during the 2010 Winter Olympics and the annual Canada Sevens rugby competition. BC Place is located on the north side of False Creek in downtown Vancouver.

LL Cool J was awesome and the game was great. Surprised how many die hard fans there were. Go Lions!
We love going to the Lions games. It’s a great atmosphere for the entire family!!
Perfect seats near centre field to witness an exciting game!
Loved this experience. Brought my wife and daughter. Concessions were reasonably priced. There were fun things for the toddler to keep her interested. Fans were loud and friendly. Things have changed at BC Place in the last few years. It’s a lot more fun.
It was a great game and the seats in the upper bowl were good. 1. Would have been better if there could have been some heating as yes it was the first brush of snow but because of coming out of the slush and sitting it got a tad chilly. 2. Food prices are not reasonable especially since it is fast food. Good to see that the washrooms were well taken care of
Always makes it more exciting when there is a crowd of 40,000 who are cheering for the same team - B.C. Lions. Lots of fun
Great ball game, good entertainment at half time. Good to see the lower bowl sold out and people buying seats in the upper bowl.
Artificially created atmosphere for a playoff game where the home team leads for the entire game with over 30,000 people shows how uninteresting the product on the field really is.
Crowd was loud, very entertaining game. Lots of fun.
The BC Lions live experience is AMAZING! The atmosphere is outstanding, the fans are great and the team sure delivers! I wish I could go to every game. They have tickets for all price ranges and even the great seats aren't expensive. Way better value versus the over-priced Canucks and the team is a winning, competitive team with multiple championships under its belt. Give the BC Lions a chance and you won't be disappointed. P.S. When you go, make lots of noise when the Lions are on DEFENSE!
Attended first Lions game and it was great. Truly exciting sporting event. Venue is great for football.
It’s been 8 years since I’ve seen a game in person. Wasn’t going to go until I heard that the upper bowl was opening up which gave me access to better seats, right on the 55 yard line! Great atmosphere in BC Place thanks to the fact that BC was winning. My only complaint was that it was cold inside, thank goodness it was cold outside so I brought a very warm jacket. Go Lions Go!
Great hame and crowd! Well organized and helpful employees.
New Lions ownership are doing a great job bringing excitement and fun to BC Lions games. Our group really enjoyed everything about the day. The fact the Lions won the game made it that much sweeter. Lions played a smart game with few penalties and Nathan Rourke at quarterback, was fun to watch. My favourite play? The 3rd down and inches, 45 yard over the top pass to Hatcher for a touchdown that fooled everybody in attendance including the Calgary defence. Great to see the Lions succeed. About 35,000 fans there. These used to be regular season numbers 30 years ago. I wish the team every success as they seek to grow their fan base. Well done!
Great game, pregame, entertainment, and the game itself were all very good.
Thats the first time i have been to a BC LIONS game in awhile. Totally entertaining from start to finish. And I'm not just talking about the game. B.C Place had things going on in between the time outs and having entertainment at half time by a well known band and Sarah Mclaughlin singing the national anthem was a great way to start the game. Thanks alot BC PLACE.
BC Lions is a great event to attend, do entertaining and fun! Good food, music and a great game.
Great time. Loved the half time show very Canadian!
Everything about the game was memorable. The staff at BC Place, the entertainment before the game and at half time and the game itself was all fantastic. The BC Lion ownership nailed it.
Loved the game, the amount of fansthatshowed up, plus they won, which is an added bonus. My favourite sports team, ever!
