    Blues....

by Canadaagogo on 2018-08-23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Although we expected it to blues heavy we were hoping to hear a few Ben Harper classics. Left slightly disappointed. Hope to see him again when he will be playing his trademark music.

    Ben Harper/Charlie Musselwhite unforgettable duo

by noona on 2018-06-04Mod Club - Toronto

I was anticipating this performance for months and I wasn't disappointed. The soulful playlist of rhythm and blues, heartfelt ballads and southern swing had me mesmerized. Ben's mastery of slide guitar and his Jeff Healey like style of playing with such passion was incredible to witness. Charlie echoed his rhythms in perfect balance. I purchased a signed copy of his vinyl"No Mercy in This Land"

Was happy to see this show in an intimate setting. They played for quite a long time and did a couple great covers.

    The heart of Ben Harper

by Sure on 2013-11-20Davies Hall - San Francisco

What a great show – this is a more mature Ben Harper, at-ease and connected to his material and his audience. This is my 5th time seeing him, and one of the best.

Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite; Outstanding!

by MargotBrown on 2013-03-04The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The concert was freakin outstanding! No need for a lot of flash, pomp and circumstance. This is genuine music, real soul, true blues, authentic passion. Ben Harper is an inspirational artist but combined with the historic impressions of Charlie Musselwhite, this entire performance was a masterpiece!

    Amazing show!

by LAW15 on 2013-03-03The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

This show was out of this world. The musicality far exceeded my expectations and brought the album to life. The musicians had outstanding communication on stage and brought a great energy to the show. The harmonica and guitars just sang. It was beautiful. I took a friend that had not listened much to the album and he loved it too.

    Amazing show

by RugbyJagger on 2013-03-03The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

This performance sits in my top10 performances. The band was tight, Ben did some fantastic work on the slide, and Charlie just killed it. The mix was incredible - there was so much clarity and as an audio engineer, it made my night that much more enjoyable. I would definitely see this show again.

    Short but sweet

by Lonecrow on 2013-03-03The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

The start time of this event was later than it should have been. If the event was going to be this late why not get a young and up and coming band to open. Then if you are going to start this late why only play for an hour and a half including encore. Other than these problems the band was quite good and charlie was a surprisingly good singer. If there is a next time maybe a better venue like Massey Hall would be more appropriate. And whats up with the Danforth Music Hall ripping out the seats on the main floor. The venue was much better with proper seating. I'll give it a 3 out of 5 more for the venue and tardy start time than for the excellent performance although it was a little short.

    The seventh time's the charm

by DDBB on 2013-03-03The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

My girlfriend and I have seen Ben Harper seven times now, in a variety of different venues—Massey Hall, Molson Amphitheatre, Kool Haus, and now Danforth Music Hall—and it's always a unique experience. This time around, blues was in the air throughout the night. I hadn't been to the Music Hall since they removed the seats from the first floor, and while I missed being able to sit and rest, there's no chance I would have sat down at any point during the show anyway. And because the floor gently slopes down towards the stage, sightlines are great from everywhere in the room. No matter where he's playing or who he's playing with, everyone should see Ben Harper at least once, the experience is unforgettable.
