Legendary New York-bred singer-songwriter Billy Joel has toured only sporadically in recent years, but fans have plenty of opportunities to score tickets to see him in concert going forward -- if they're willing to head out to New York's Madison Square Garden. Joel signed an open-ended deal with MSG that will have him playing a concert at the venue once per month for as long as there's demand. And demand has never been a problem for Joel at he historic New York venue; he played his first show there in 1978, and had logged 46 concerts at the arena by 2013. 
New York isn't alone in its love for the singer. Joel has long been established as one of the top-grossing touring artists in the U.S., and has sold more than 150 million records over the course his four-decade career. After recording a long string of hits including "Piano Man," "New York State of Mind," "Just the Way You Are," "You May Be Right," "Pressure," "Uptown Girl," "We Didn't Start the Fire," and  "The River of Dreams," Joel decided that he was done writing pop and rock songs. It's a decision he's stuck with; it's been more than 20 years since he's recorded a new pop or rock album. He's composed new classical material instead, while continuing to play songs from his catalog in concert.

  • Amazing show. Like an old friend.

    From the moment he walked onstage, the crowd was on their feet singing every word and dancing to the music. Billy didn't disappoint...the music, the jokes, the interaction with his band and the audience. First rate performance and even though our seats were behind the stage, we saw and heard everything. Awesome musicians and just a fabulous show. I'd highly recommend!

    Purchased tickets from Ticketmaster. Easy to access venue with mobile tickets. Great venue, very comfortable seats with cup holders, lots of room to relax and enjoy the show. Billy Joel was worth every penny. Loved the mix of music and the band was great too. One of the best concerts i have attended. Billy Joel played for 2 1/2 hours and was really engaging with the audience. Hope he returns to the venue again. Bucket List ...✔

    Billy Joel still has it. Loved him and his very talented band and singers. Only complaint is the monopoly ticketmaster has and the mark up they charge. I hope this monopoly will end and that investigations into their practices and policies occur.

    Waited 2yrs to enjoy Billy Joel. Was not disappointed. Gave an outstanding performance and i got to share it with my youngest daughter who is also a fan! Thank you Billy Joel for a great show and a memory both me and my daughter will member for years to come.

    Amazing venue. It was easy to access, easy to leave. The accoustics and visual screens out of this world. Billy Joel..can't say enough about is show. What an incredible performer. Glad we were a part of opening night. Already booked some more concerts....

    Fantastic venue, well designed, ample seating tiered to maintain a clear view line to the stage and even a drink holder and the sound. There were dampeners all aver the ceiling which took care of the usual concern noise so the sound quality was great. So great design, awesome seating and incredible sound quality. There is nto a bad seat in the house. I obviously was very happy with my experience and look forward to returning for many events in the future.

    Billy has still got it! He sounds perfect, and engaged the crowd in conversation between songs. He played a song that wasn’t even on the set list. The band, particularly the brass section, could all have solo concerts as they are solid musicians on their own.

    From the opening overture to the final encore it was pure Billy Joel. He did all the hits, and mixed in a few great “album cuts”. He’s not as nimble as he once was, but he still has the chops. And his banter was up to Billy standards. I’ve seen him a few times in concert since the late 80’s, and this will probably be my last time seeing him. The ticket prices were a bit over the top, but worth every wooden mickle. Thanks Billy. You will forever be the Piano Man
