About

BRYAN FERRY IN CONCERT:

When it comes to debonair British crooners, Bryan Ferry has the market pretty well cornered, now in his fifth decade as one of the country's most celebrated and stylish pop stars. As beloved for his work with art rock band Roxy Music as he is for his solo material, the ever-dapper Ferry is a consummate performer, known for his silky voice, ladykiller looks, and come-hither stage presence. With a North American tour and Coachella appearance scheduled for 2014, Ferry has fans of all ages eagerly waiting to be seduced by his wily charms.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ferry formed Roxy Music in 1970 with several friends and acquaintances, among them a young Brian Eno, the now-legendary producer of David Bowie fame.  Between 1972 and 1982 the band released eight albums, topping the UK Albums Chart three times and racking up a slew of hit singles including "Jealous Guy" and "Love Is the Drug." In addition to continuing to front the band, Ferry has maintained an impressive solo career, releasing 14 solo albums over the last four decades. A true showman, Ferry continues to tour, lending his treasured voice to Roxy Music classics, hits from his solo catalog, and covers of artists ranging from Bob Dylan to The Beach Boys.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Bryan Ferry and his band exceeded all expectations. Took me back to the '70s... Can't come up with enough superlatives"

"Ferry is still 'The Master.' If I could bottle up his voice and hear it forever I would."

"A great show by an amazing performer. Bryan has surrounded himself with a wonderful band... The setlist was a solid mix of solo and Roxy songs. "

    Awesome Concert, awesome venue

by Steve on 2019-08-06Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

We saw Bryan Ferry in Detroit on August 3, 2019 at the Fox Theatre. The venue itself was worth the trip from London, Ontario .... simply amazing. The architecture was simply stunning and was a perfect venue for the character and depth of his music. The concert itself was a 2 hour, 25 song journey of covers, Roxy Music (all the Avalon tracks) and solo hits that any Bryan Ferry fan would want to experience. There was no encore as they left everything out there...no encore needed. The band was awesome from the drums, back up singers to the very talented sax performances.... they were able to fill out the songs live as they sounded from the original studio creations. The arrangments didn't stray too far from the originals and the performances were just phenomenal. Bryan Ferry was in top form at 73 and his vocals left little doubt that he is still on top of his game. His interactions with the audience were classy and warm....truley a class act. I would go see him again in a heartbeat.

Finally! A show that was actually worth all of Ticketmaster's gouges of service and delivery fees.

    OK

by A. M. on 2019-08-02Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

I enjoyed seeing Bryan Ferry and it was likely the last performance I will see. The last time I saw Roxy Music was about 15 years ago and Bryan was amazing. Sadly, I can't say the same for this performance, I found the instruments were overpowering and it was difficult to hear Bryan's voice, with that said, I also found that Bryan had a difficult time performing in his usual caliber. He has a tremor in his voice that I love and I didn't hear it during this performance. I also found that he spoke the words through a lot of his songs instead of singing them. I hate to give a negative review but I was disappointed in this concert, I had high expectations as I love Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music.

The show was top notch. Everyone of the 9 musicians who accompanied Bryan are terrific performers who were in the spotlight individually showing off their amazing musical abilities. I would recommend seeing Bryan Ferry to all as it would be a night to cherish in your lifetime. Thanks Bryan A shout out to the cat woman saxophone player who blew my mind...

    Great concert, great sound!

by Yowgirl on 2019-08-02Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

Roxy Music was inducted into the Rock’n’roll Hall of Fame this year and their performance on tv wasn’t that great. However, Bryan Ferry surpassed my expectations. At 73, his voice has changed a bit, but he was surprisingly very good and his songs have stood the test time. I thought the musical arrangement of the songs was genius. Every instrument could clearly be heard, every musician had their time in the spotlight. Ferry and his band managed to recreate the sound and feel of the Avalon album; a total 80’s flashback for me. The backup singers were great talents in their own right and supported Ferry’s vocals, but the female`s vocals on Avalon were perfect. I am not sure it is the Sony Centre itself or the sound engineer, but the sound was probably the best I have ever heard at a venue. Ferry played for 90 minutes and I knew almost every tune including words. All in all, a great show. I would see it again if I could.

    Never Disappoints

by D. on 2019-08-02Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

Bryan is getting up there in age but has such a wonderful back catalog that even with his voice struggling slightly he still puts on one helluva show. His mix of solo and Roxy stuff was pretty much perfect and the enthusiastic response from the crowd showed that we were all loving it. Highlight for me was Every Dream Home A Heartache. I would have liked an encore, but I think there were some technical issues that may have prevented him from wanting to do more.

    Coolest Showman

by waterwolf on 2019-08-02Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

Went to see Bryan Ferry on Tuesday July 30th at the Sony Centre. This was my first time to this venue and it is a great place for an concert, good seating ( 4th row) and acoustics. I have seen Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music so many times in the past as been a fan for over 40 years but, I believe this was one of his better shows as not only sounded great but he was having a great time and wanted to be there! His playlist was almost perfect! I seen him 2 years ago in Hampton Court London England which was a fantastic venue , but he played much better here on Tuesday night. Still the coolest in Rock n Roll!! Fan for Life

    It was OK, enjoyable evening.

by JB on 2019-08-02Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

The opening act of 30 mins stretched for an extra 30 mins to set the stage for Bryan Ferry and his band who came on stage @ 9:00pm. I thought Bryan played one too many slow song while sitting on his piano. He left the big songs for the last 35 mins ending with Let's Stick Together. The sax player was amazing and so was the entire band, glad to see Bryan's old side kick Chris Spedding. Wished he did The Strand from his old band Roxy Music. Show lasted about 90 mins. Parking was at decent rates at the Municipality Parking on Church Street.

Brian Ferry and his band were just amazing. It was our first time at the Sony Centre and what a great place to see a band! Brian Ferry sang all the hits and sounded great, his saxophone player was awesome. She had quite a few solo spots and I could have listened to her all night.

by B. on 2019-08-02Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

The whole show was amazing. The band is incredibly tight. The background and lights were beautiful and added to each song. More than anything else Bryan has an amazing voice and his stage presence is one of a kind!

by JJB on 2019-08-02Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

Far too loud and it was hard to distinguish Bryan Ferry's voice at times. Mostly it was the drum beats that bothered me. Otherwise a tight show and very enjoyable.

    Great stage presence

by KFZ on 2019-08-02Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

I had wanted to see Ferry all my life. Sadly with many of the 70s and 80s stars, it was a let down as their voices have failed them. His stage presence was still amazing and the show was enjoyable but his voice no longer had the range or depth it once had. Over all it made me sad.
