About

BRYAN FERRY IN CONCERT:

When it comes to debonair British crooners, Bryan Ferry has the market pretty well cornered, now in his fifth decade as one of the country's most celebrated and stylish pop stars. As beloved for his work with art rock band Roxy Music as he is for his solo material, the ever-dapper Ferry is a consummate performer, known for his silky voice, ladykiller looks, and come-hither stage presence. With a North American tour and Coachella appearance scheduled for 2014, Ferry has fans of all ages eagerly waiting to be seduced by his wily charms.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ferry formed Roxy Music in 1970 with several friends and acquaintances, among them a young Brian Eno, the now-legendary producer of David Bowie fame.  Between 1972 and 1982 the band released eight albums, topping the UK Albums Chart three times and racking up a slew of hit singles including "Jealous Guy" and "Love Is the Drug." In addition to continuing to front the band, Ferry has maintained an impressive solo career, releasing 14 solo albums over the last four decades. A true showman, Ferry continues to tour, lending his treasured voice to Roxy Music classics, hits from his solo catalog, and covers of artists ranging from Bob Dylan to The Beach Boys.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Bryan Ferry and his band exceeded all expectations. Took me back to the '70s... Can't come up with enough superlatives"

"Ferry is still 'The Master.' If I could bottle up his voice and hear it forever I would."

"A great show by an amazing performer. Bryan has surrounded himself with a wonderful band... The setlist was a solid mix of solo and Roxy songs. "

The Nostalgic value made it worthwhile

by The Klink on 2019-08-02Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall) - Toronto

Ferry doesn’t have the voice anymore and at times he and/or one of his backup singers is actually off key. Having said that, the concert was one still fun to see because you’re seeing a legend perform some great tunes for what is likely the last time. The band was great. A fun show all around but don’t go with high expectations worth respect to the vocals.

His voice is showing his age

    by Steelyfan on 2019-08-01

I have Roxy blood running through my veins and this pains me, but if I am being honest, Bryan Ferry’s voice is pretty much done. I have seen him 4 times, Roxy once, (sigh) and this last show had an amazing Roxy Music packed set list on the heels of the Rock Hall induction, but at the same time, it was sad. He sounded tired and relied on his back up singers extensively. Will that keep me from seeing him again? No way. No one has the style, suave and elegance that Bryan Ferry has.

    Great musicians but Sonic Hell!

    by DavidV19 on 2017-08-16Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

A great collection of musicians and Bryan played all the right songs...however, whoever was in charge of the sound needs to figure out how to play in the Orpheum. The acoustics are awful and playing louder only makes things worse...too bad.

    Bryan Ferry

by Skippy91 on 2017-08-14River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Bryan Ferry's stellar band (including Chris Spedding on guitar) conjured up every period of Ferry's career with ease. Soulful arrangements (sticking close to the recorded versions in most instance), never over-whelmed the man although the sound in the audience was a tad muddy. Ferry, in great voice, just kept slamming it out of the park and he seemed genuinely pleased at the reaction of the near capacity audience. One of the best shows I've seen in Edmonton.

    Excellent Show!!

by Ddrummer on 2017-08-13Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Bryan Ferry and the band put on a fabulous show providing the audience with a strong retrospective of some fabulous songs. The only disappointment was the key change for More Than This, but certainly understandable given that Bryan is 71.

Classic songs and excellent 9 piece backing band. Chris Spedding on guitar was worth the price of admission. Bryan Ferry still has the pipes and energy If you like Roxy Muisc, don't miss this

    Stronger through the years

by Anonymous on 2017-08-12River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

A great show. Full of the instantly recognizable hits and some great cover songs. From Sam and Dave ( Hold On I'm Coming) , John Lennon(Jealous Guy), Neil Young (like A Hurricane), The Velvet Underground (What Goes On) and Bob Dylan(Simple Twist of Fate, complete with some excellent harmonica from Ferry). They were played like they were his or Roxy Music originals, not like karaoke night at the bar or a lounge lizard trying to be cool. Ferry is cool and it was a hot show! I saw Dylan 3 weeks ago and he was very good but never played the harmonica even though he is one of the best players in the world. So that was a stand out with me. He doesn't make it to this part of the world that often. A check on setlist.fm site shows that during his lengthy career, he has only been in the Edmonton area 3 times with the last time before this being in 1988. I don't know if he will be back this way again but i'm glad i got to see him when he was here. Highly recommended, especially if you haven't seen him or his excellent band before.

elegant, serious rock music returns to Edmonton

by haenschen on 2017-08-12River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Bryan Ferry remains, at 71, the standard-bearer for art-rock of the first order. The concert proved that young musicians could carry forward the Roxy sound without compromise, they played much of the canonical repertoire including "Virginia Plain" and "Out of the Blue" and the poppier items such as "Love is the Drug" were not denied to an enthusiastic audience. The most challenging vocal numbers like "If There Is Something" were addressed with unison vocals from a couple of backup singers, so Ferry is aware of his limitations. At two hours in length, a memorable musical experience from one of the giants of serious rock music.

Beautiful, powerful, often both at the same time

by opentuned on 2017-08-12River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

The working-class young man who became one of the most sophisticated and innovative rock 'n rollers ever could easily be taken for twenty years younger than he actually is, both in appearance and performance. He is also very much part of the huge and stellar band behind him as opposed to them being distinctly separate entities, and they seamlessly stitch together solo work, Roxy Music classics, and Ferry's absolute gift for reinterpreting songs from other great artists to the point he practically owns them. It makes for a thrilling evening. The spirit of adventure and energy on display blew the house away, a lot of mid-song applause and a final ovation that went on and on. And it looked like the musicians were having as great a time as we were. Also, the stage lighting was absolutely stunning, the show looks as good as it sounds. If you are able to see this show, do it.

    Bryan Ferry...Winnipeg.

by Ardasnailz on 2017-08-10Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Absolutely great show..... had forgotten how good these songs were until Monday night. Mr Ferry can still bash out a good song.....and I don't know where the saxophone player came from... but give her a raise.... she was fantastic.... Great night wouldn't hesitate to buy tickets to see the show again.

    Brian Ferry was spectacular

by rjoaeoroau on 2017-08-10Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Everything about the concert was great. There were some sound tweaks in the first couple songs but after that - fantastic. The musicians were all in the mood to have a great time and they really did. each and every one of them had special talent - the horn was incredible, the young guitarist was beyond words, the drummer, the dancer backups. And of course the best was Brian Ferry - What a class act! I think he enjoyed himself in Winnipeg immensely and likely did not expect such a response from our crowd. The lighting was amazing as well, wish they could've played all night.
