About

BRYAN FERRY IN CONCERT:

When it comes to debonair British crooners, Bryan Ferry has the market pretty well cornered, now in his fifth decade as one of the country's most celebrated and stylish pop stars. As beloved for his work with art rock band Roxy Music as he is for his solo material, the ever-dapper Ferry is a consummate performer, known for his silky voice, ladykiller looks, and come-hither stage presence. With a North American tour and Coachella appearance scheduled for 2014, Ferry has fans of all ages eagerly waiting to be seduced by his wily charms.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ferry formed Roxy Music in 1970 with several friends and acquaintances, among them a young Brian Eno, the now-legendary producer of David Bowie fame.  Between 1972 and 1982 the band released eight albums, topping the UK Albums Chart three times and racking up a slew of hit singles including "Jealous Guy" and "Love Is the Drug." In addition to continuing to front the band, Ferry has maintained an impressive solo career, releasing 14 solo albums over the last four decades. A true showman, Ferry continues to tour, lending his treasured voice to Roxy Music classics, hits from his solo catalog, and covers of artists ranging from Bob Dylan to The Beach Boys.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Bryan Ferry and his band exceeded all expectations. Took me back to the '70s... Can't come up with enough superlatives"

"Ferry is still 'The Master.' If I could bottle up his voice and hear it forever I would."

"A great show by an amazing performer. Bryan has surrounded himself with a wonderful band... The setlist was a solid mix of solo and Roxy songs. "

    Bryan Ferry

by Catherine69 on 2014-04-08Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The band took a long time to set up after Dawn Landes performed. Once they started we thought the sound was off. We loved Bryan Ferry - his songs were great and his band was good.

    Bryan was fantastic

by stranded on 2014-04-08Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Bryan has been on my bucket list as a must see, I am from Edmonton and travel to Vancouver for this opertunity to see him live in concert with my GF Tasha, what an experience , he did not disappoint, memorable evening, fantastic performance we both couldn't stop talking about it, our opinion was shared by the many fans leaving the theatre at the end as we discussed the evening. My only disappointment was the concert felt to short, 22 songs was great, 23 would have been greater Ken rogan Edmonton

Both Bryan Ferry and Dawn Landes were great

by TrailGuy on 2014-04-08Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

What a pleasant surprise Dawn Landes was. Having just the two gals on stage playing guitars created a great sound. the real magic start when Bryan took the stage. The band was tight and talented and were not afraid to let it rip. It was special to hear the old Roxy Music tunes from way back in the day and heart warming to see that a musician that has been at the game as long as Ferry has can still be affected by the energy of the crowd. Great night, great show and a great venue

    Couldn't hear Bryan

by Manxman on 2014-04-07QE Theatre - Vancouver

I was really looking forward to this concert, after going to OMD and Peter Gabriel concerts in recent years (my two other favorite UK bands). Unfortunately, the backup band was so loud my wife and I couldn't hear Bryan. We decided to leave after Avalon, and most of the people in our mezzanine section simply looked worn out by the 130 decibel assault.. Except for 1 brief instrumental when the drummer and bass guitarist mercifully left the stage, there really was hardly any respite. Maybe it was the venue, maybe the guys at the soundboard, but anyone reading this between here in Vancouver and Indio, take your earplugs! Or shout at the guys on the soundboard to take it down more than a few notches. In fact, it would have been a treat to have just Bryan on the stage with the wonderful young guitarist accompanying Dawn Landes! That would have been interesting. Bryan, perhaps you could send a telegram to Phil and Andy. I bet they would enjoy California this time of year. BTW, when we left, there were a number of Brits in the lobby, also leaving. We all had the same opinion, that we couldn't hear you over the bar band.

    King of Cool

by davetheraveratae on 2011-10-12Casino Rama - Orillia

Bryan Ferry always was smooth, slick & cool and he was no different at Casino Rama last weekend. His band was outstanding and it was great to see Chris Spedding once again. Roxy Music was one of the all time great bands from the UK and it was such a shame when they decided to go their separate ways. Bryan Ferry alternated from his stand up mic to his keyboard and his voice has remained the same as it always was - right on. He is such a naturally gifted singer and performer. Such a pleasure. Come back again and again!

brian ferry still rocking in his 60's

by floydyes on 2011-10-11Casino Rama - Orillia

Although he may not have the vocal range when he was young, he and the band still have that great roxie sound.

    Great concert

by Concertguru on 2011-10-11Casino Rama - Orillia

I enjoyed the list of songs of the concert. I wanted to see Bryan Ferry a long time ago and I was not disappointed to finally see him performing his classic songs. However, I did not like when people were getting closer to the stage, affecting the vision of the people that paid big bucks for the front row seats.

    Ferry Good

by Youngster on 2011-10-11Casino Rama - Orillia

Bryan Ferry delivered once again. I have seen Bryan and Roxy Music several times over the years and have never been disappointed. His band were fantastic and the sound they achieved was consistently good throughout the show. I was greatly impressed by the young guitarist Oliver Thompson. Bryan's choice of material was also excellent. A great selection of solo stuff, Roxy stuff and the covers also. An excellent night all round.

    I paid the Ferry man.

    by canadianguy123 on 2011-10-11Casino Rama - Orillia

What an awesome show. I've waited to see this icon of swoon since i heard his first solo album. Already saw Roxy music performing only Roxy material but I really wanted to see this man do solo material. I knew he would perform solo, Roxy and other artist hits but I had no idea just how great it would be. I expected real good, what I got was real great. What a venue, Rama, and what a show. the band, the background singers and the video effects were exquisite additions to a legendary artist.

    great show

by ratso on 2011-10-11Casino Rama - Orillia

Bryan Ferry did many old Roxy and solo favourites with an excellent series of encore songs. Very atmospheric with film and lights backdrop! On the downside;instruments often overpowered Mr.Ferrys voice. I have seen many artists perform at this venue with some amazing sound quality...so I can only blame it on the sound crew. Generally a very entertaining show!

Bryan Ferry show an aural and visual feast

by spacecowboy on 2011-10-10Casino Rama - Orillia

Bryan Ferry is still the definition of sophisticated cool at 66. With a six-piece backing band that included amazing guitar players Chris Spedding and Oliver Thompson, and Roxy Music drummer Paul Thompson, along with four back-up singers and two dancers, the show was an aural and visual feast. The projected art video for each song in the set list was masterfully overlayed with live video. The sound, as always at Rama, was great. Ferry delivered a good mix of old and new, Roxy Music and solo favourites, including many of his best covers.

    Brian Ferry was great

by puttsmoore on 2011-10-10Casino Rama - Orillia

I saw Brian Ferry in Michigan 20 years ago and it was amazing, this was just as good. He has so much class and style. He's aged but haven't we all. The only thing I missed was the violin work Lucy Wilson did on the DVD I have "live at the apollo". I would go see this again in a heartbeat. Great craftwork Brian and cast!!! Rick Moore

    Ferry brought back memories

by cricketforever on 2011-10-10Casino Rama - Orillia

It was nice to be sat in a crowd that wanted to listen to the music and lyrics and NOT scream and whistle for no apparant reason. There was no standing ovation; however; this doesn't mean that the band was not greatly appreciated. The band makes you relax throughout the show even when the music reaches high high high decibels. Amazing show

by bryanferry on 2011-10-10Casino Rama - Orillia

It was one of the most outstanding concerts I have ever been. As many years Ferry's fan, I am happy I didn't miss this Olympia tour. Light, video, sound, dancers, and the course music of Bryan Ferry created unique and unforgettable experience.
