Great curling. Great facilities. Great event staff. Event staff went out of their way to make me comfortable as I had broken my leg and was still having trouble with it. Only disappointing aspect was “the patch”. Music was played way too loud as we wanted to have a meal and visit with friends. I actually suffered some hearing loss and did not return on subsequent days.
The curling was excellent. Wish I would have been able to go for more games.
Was not impressed about SaskTel Center's no exit/re-entry policy. Had this information been given to me before tickets were purchased, I may have had second thoughts about attending the event. People with back issues and/or breathing issues may not be able to sit through an entire curling game. Sometimes you just need to go outside to get some fresh air!!
Worst idea ever was having only ONE food venue at The Patch! The opening weekend, Saturday after the 1st draw, I stood in line for 35 minutes for a hamburger…to find out they’d run out of hamburgers! The 1st crowd of the 1st day!!! I just hope it got better…we didn’t go back to eat there on Sunday.
A fun and enjoyable time! Was awesome to watch all the amazing curlers compete in The Olympic Trials!
I was very disappointed with the event in a few different ways. First thing is that the tickets that my sister and I had did not work with the scanners at the venue. We had to have them redone at the ticket office. Second thing is that we could not bring in our own water, coffee or food as we have previously done in past curling events that I have been to. My opinion is that it is safer (due to COVID) to bring in your own liquids and food as you are the only person who is touching it. My sister and brother were there and they are both diabetic and need to have food and water on them at all times as they never know when they will have an episode. Also, and this is more towards the venue itself, most of the security guards were very nice and respectful except for one female who was disrespectful and rude to most of the people that I know who went to this event including myself. All in all, the curling itself was great and I will go to another curling event despite the problems that existed.
The event was very well organized and run. The volunteers were very helpful and friendly. The food at the vendors was terrible. It was all unhealthy fried food, and not cooked well. The hot dogs were lukewarm and the fries not well cooked. The water was an atrocious price, the only thing healthy there.
The curling was great, but the food from the concession was less than good, the hamburger bun was burnt and the burger was not a good temperature. Other than that it was a great experience
Bonus to have wrist bands to show proof of vaccination. Staff very helpful and tried to reenforce mask wearing. Tickets very expensive, especially for individual draws, which is why there were so many empty seats throughout the event. No sound on the upper bowl so missed any announcements. At other Trials O Canada was always played at the beginning of each day.
Exciting games! Awesome shot-making! Emotional outcomes! To improve the event, it would have been helpful to have hotel shuttle information at the same time as the ticket promotions were sent. The event did not make information readily available regarding theme days in advance of the event so that we could have planned our apparel.
