Very well, smoothly run event. I would attend again
Had a fantastic time in Saskatoon at my first Olympic related event ever! Exciting games, great competition, fantastic volunteers and employees. My only suggestions are to promote the Patch more - only those that know about it knew about it - and to have more hype/activities between and during games.
After the morning draw on Friday there were only 2 buses to take fans to the Patch so we had to wait quite awhile and the weather was chilly.
The Canadian Olympic Curling Trials were awesome to see! The level of play was excellent, and the sightlines and camera work were decent (if a little small - definitely needed our glasses!). I just have one critique of the experience: when I booked, it seemed that I had to pay $25 for parking. This seemed ridiculous to me as I’ve NEVER paid to park at Sasktel Centre; however, I couldn’t find any info to confirm what this parking fee was for and didn’t want to get hung up getting in, so I paid the $25. On the night of the event, I drove in with no need for a ticket check of any sort. I personally blame the way the info was presented on the Ticketmaster page for being misleading.
Great seats and very clean building! Only downside was the electronic tickets..internet a bit slow and kept getting kicked out of the site.finally was given paper tickets after i asked..only issue i had.
The curling was amazing. The concession items were expensive and were often out of items, but the service was good. The expectations for fans was very inconsistent (especially with items on the ledge at ice level - it seemed like one section was asked to comply) and the staff weren’t very nice about it. This didn’t help the experience.
Great experience except for many spectators sitting near us who did not have masks on properly. They sat through the curling matches with masks covering their chins (some double chins!!) and held onto empty cups or bottles for the duration of the games. May they ALL experience severe Covid effects.
It was awesome! Everything was run smoothly and effectively.
What an amazing week. The venue was perfect with not a bad seat in the place. And the curling was phenomenal. Well done Saskatoon.
It is very easy to navigate the Ticketmaster app. I really like being able to have the tickets on my phone and not have to worry about forgetting tickets at home or losing them etc.. I would give a 5 star rating if tickets could be exchanged for better seats. Frustrating to be sitting in just okay seats when there better seats available. It is sometimes difficult to know which seats are going to be good until after you get there.
Great curling & a great event that was very well organized. The closing ceremonies were excellent. Thx to SaskTel Centre & all the volunteers for the work. Let’s bring the Brier back to Saskatoon
We tried to contact Ticketmaster several times and got only automated responses. They never contacted us back as asked. All we wanted to do was have the ability to give our tickets away, but couldn’t get any help from them to do that. Being able to talk to a real person whether by phone or computer chat might have solved our problem.
Parking and traffic control excellent. Screening for vaccinations smooth - liked the green wrist bands. Event staff friendly and helpful. Concession food was decent, however none of them handed out a cup of water as advertised on line. Empty water bottles should be allowed at these types of events (and water available) or the price of water should be reasonable. Felt like gouging. Comfortable seating and eating facilities should be available for between games - much of the crowd was elderly and many had mobility issues. The patch is set up for a mobile crowd. It would be helpful if the sasktel center website clearly indicated where the elevator is - and indicate that there is only one - so that patrons booking tickets for people with mobility issues can plan accordingly. Great job guys! Had a good time!
I believe that due to the pandemic it was a smaller attendance year. Other than that it was loads of fun.
The COVID protocols followed made us feel safe while watching the curling. They had lots of volunteers checking vaccine QR codes and ID at the entrance so it went quickly. All staff and volunteers were friendly. Saskatchewan always does a great job of hosting.
It was a great event to see all the top curlers from across Canada. Nice venue good seating great atmosphere
Overall a great event! I had originally bought tickets to the 7PM Men's Semi Finals but when the organizers changed the schedule, we were invite to attend both the Men's and Women's semi finals! The venue was too big for the attendance numbers, it would've been nicer if the event had been held at a smaller hockey arena in Saskatoon. The Covid-19 protocols were handled well and there wasn't too much of a wait getting in with our proof of vaccination.
As in most things, the cream rises to the top. Jones vs Fleury was a nail-biter. The two best men 's teams, Gushue vs Jacobs, will play off this evening. No matter who wins they will represent Canada well at the Olympics. It was good to see that Peterman will be able to make it to the Olympics, much like all of her team mates. Fleury and her team are young enough and talented enough to make another run in four years time. This experience will make them even tougher.
My experience at the curling trials in Saskatoon was great. The teams and level of competition was world class. The people/fans that attended the event were friendly. The band at the Patch was great. Was also able to buy some nice souvenir items for myself and my sister. Overall it was a great experience.
